When the clerk asked me if I would take $200 for 2 Gold diamond necklaces, she seemed shocked that I said yes. (I knew better but needed the money. I had told her that I had some other jewelry and that I would be back. I did some research and realized that I had been taken. I had some other rings and necklaces, so I went back the next day. She did not seem happy to see me at all; in fact, she had feigned interest in something the day before but was just attempting to be nice. She rejected some of my pieces stating that they were not real then walked into the back area where someone let her know if the ones she selected were "acceptable". Again, an offer of about $200 for 2 vintage solid gold class rings. i asked her why. she looked at me and babbled on about clarity and such. I looked at her. said no and left. I went to another jewelry store with the rings and the rejected pieces and was offered $1200 for everything. I feel as if I have been robbed and am so tired of dishonesty just because they can get away with it. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE THEY ARE NOT HONEST OR KIND, SHE MADE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE LIKE I WAS BENEATH HER. I WILL PRAY FOR HER. This is the first review I have ever written like this. it is very uncomfortable; however, it needed to be said.

The band you put on my grandmas diamond is a cheap, terrible quality, which cost me $1,780. I now know why you were so insistent that I get the two rings soldered before I ever tried them on. This way, I wouldn't notice the embarrassing poor quality band you were giving me. You also told me and charged me for a knife's edge band and it is certainly not. The money you gave me for my grandma's two platinum bands was $220???? You wanted me to buy what you wanted. I never felt like I was being heard by you and you were being extremely pushy. I am so disappointed in myself for trusting you through one of the most important events of my life. Update- I went to a reputable jeweler today. When I showed her the band that you had made for me, she literally laughed and told me it was worth $200 at best. She saw the brand that was on the inside of the band and told me that's where scrap jewelry comes from.

Walters I have a real friend in the jewelry business. His…read morename is Chris, and he works at Walter's Jewelers. I met him when I took in some old jewelry after a parent's death. "Is this real gold? Are these real pearls?" I also brought in some of my jewelry. Chris was super helpful. He helped identify costume jewelry vs real gold, synthetic stones, etc. I was able to decide what I wanted to keep based on sentimental and monetary value. Chris used his expertise to: clean jewelry, restring an old set of pearls, repair a small chain, replace a broken clasp, put batteries in my watches, etc. I was so impressed with Chris, I asked if he could redesign my wedding band, which had inset diamonds, très masculine. Chris sent me digital mockups of designs, so I could see exactly what my ring would be. The result is a stunner. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. We also worked with Chris on a ring for a family member's special day. It took several visits to find just the right stone and setting, and now the ring will be a one of a kind that will last generations. Chris, his brother Jeff, Connie, and Tom--all of whom helped me during a visit or worked on my jewelry--have all worked at Walters for decades. The family business has been around for 94-95 years. They know their stuff. I like knowing that I'm patronizing a business that's investing in quality products and people rather than quantity advertising. Oh, and they have parking in the back of their shop, off Monroe Street. Nice.
