I've been a patient of this office location for over 30 years since I was on my parents' insurance…read morepolicy. When I was old enough to have my own insurance coverage, I tried other places closer to home, but I've always come back. I've returned to this office after years of not having any dental work done, and realized the ownership change and all my previous dental hygenists have retired. I'm now seeing Dr. Rollins. I had a chipped central incisor (lower front tooth) and he did a quick repair on it. The work he did was absolutely perfect. It was so good, that the next time I was in their office, he wasn't sure which tooth he had repaired just by looking at my teeth! :) I'm really glad I decided to give this office another try under their new ownership. It's every bit as good as it was before, dare I say even better because I don't feel like this office is only out to make money. Years ago, the previous dentists decided I needed to have work done on all my rear molars and after all the sealant has fallen out or worn down, I have deep crevices that are somewhat bothersome, mainly because in hindsight, I don't believe I should have ever had that work done but I was too young to know that there was an option to decline. I was still in K-12 school at the time. I don't believe Dr. Rollins would even attempt to suggest that I have work done that I don't need. In fact, I asked about an area of concern in one of my teeth and he thought it would be better if we wait, because the work he would have had to do, would have done more damage than the wear and tear that I already have on that tooth. Love it!! IDEA: If you have sensitive gums, be sure you ask about using gas. They are skilled at administering gas which can take the edge off the pain if you're sensitive. I don't have to use gas for my cleanings, but I always ask for it if they're going to drill and it works! It wore off quickly for me, once they turned it off and I was able to drive without noticing any difference in how I felt before I arrived versus when I left the office after having gas administered.

They claimed that…read morethey didn't have time to notify patients - yet they placed 2 calls to remind me of my appointment. Second, they had a traveling hygienist. She did a fine job but I spend more time with the hygienist then the dentist. Maybe I was just spoiled by Dr. Steimel's practice but I enjoyed the consistency of having someone who knew my dental history each time. And finally, and this might be why I am looking for a new dentist, they gave me x-rays that were not covered under my insurance, are not standardly covered under any insurance. They did not give me any warning so that I could make a decision on if I thought it was worth the extra $.

He is totally dedicated to quality dentistry, and truly gives each patient his individualized attention. Then he and Dr. Loprete (who we've not seen but apparently is also good) merged with this group, and both of them apparently came under new management . It seems to me that Bloomfield Hills Dental Group is just another big conglomerate that puts profit before patients, and Dr. Steimel was not able to practice the way he knows best. He is now gone, as is Jamie, his awesome assistant. We don't know where they went. We don't like the way this management runs the practice; no more individualized attention, seems like an assembly line, we don't know any of the staff, everyone seems stressed out. Very mechanical. Not a good vibe at all, and certainly not representative of the way Dr. Steimel likes to treat his patients. And to top it all off, they still show Dr. Steimel on their website! That should be misrepresentation- he's not been there for a few months! When we ask, they won't tell us where he's gone to. It's unfortunate, as they lost a fabulous dentist....and so did we

The staff is beyond kind and attentive to your needs. My kids & I have been going there for over 10 years (orthodontics & dental) and have nothing but praise for this office!

As with most medical business in a medical office, it was a bit challenging to find. I called ahead and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful in directing me with landmarks and signage. (It's hard to find a building in 45mph, multi-lane traffic!) The dentist (or hygienist) assigned to me was friendly and answered all my nosy questions. I had mentioned it had been awhile, and that I hadn't flossed in a bit, because I ran out of my favorite floss and that it was expensive. (I know, I'm a terrible person!) Expecting fire and brimstone and a guilt trip that I am used to immediately brushing off, I was impressed by their professional manner. The dentist/hygienist was either tactful or telling the truth, and said my teeth were not as bad as I might have thought. The main dentist stopped by for a few thoughts and questions, also very pleasant. They answered my questions about Invisalign, and then thoughtfully sent a follow up letter thanking me for stopping by and providing a brochure of information for Invisalign. Teeth felt pretty good and clean after the efficient visit. Big like!
