If you are in the vicinity of Ortigas Center then visiting this museum and library is a must. The museum exhibits Filipino works of art whether from famous or contemporary artists. You'll see works of art from names you won't recognize but wished you did because the paintings are just that good. Then there are works of Filipino masters like Felix Hidalgo and Juan Luna. Works of art that defies time and are still a pleasure to behold after all these years.
They also have a library with an extensive collection of Filipiniana titles. One of the biggest I've seen at more than 20,000 volumes. My favorite is their collection from the Spanish era. I can't read them completely yet but it's one of my motivations for studying Spanish. One day, I'll come back and read those Spanish volumes without my trusty Spanish-English dictionary to help me out.
And yes, eve though the Lopez family owns this museum and library, they'll let you in even if you're a certified Kapuso :) read more
