Art in Island is primarily a pop-up exhibit catered towards creating a perfect Instagram photo. Not for the shy, that's for sure! If you are active in social media or have the energy to run around, and do creative poses, then this place is for you! We had a good time aside from the fact that there were a few long lines, although not unbearable. You have to take your shoes off when you come here. I find it to be a little overpriced though. P500 which is almost $10, but free for children under 3 feet tall. It is good for a one time visit unless they change the murals every year. Cubao Expo is right around the corner, so after a fun-filled time of posing, and taking pictures. You can get a bite to eat behind the exhibit. There are tons of restaurants around here.

This place was pretty neat. My sister suggested coming here and we got lost trying to find it, but it was well worth it! Keep in mind, you are REQUIRED to take off your shoes to enter the exhibit. I was a bit peeved and paranoid about this because I'm a complete germaphobe. I was wearing sandals at the time, and if I knew about this rule, I would've been prepared and wore shoes so at least I would have socks on! However, at the end of the exhibit, the bottom of my feet weren't dirty! They really clean up and maintain this place pretty well. And I don't blame them, the art work here is unbelievable! Take your time through the exhibit. Try out different poses and camera angles. However, don't be those people that hog a picture when clearly, there are people waiting for you to finish. I love how they have stickers on the floor that tell you where to stand... it helps! This place is pretty big and there is so much art work there! There's two cafes in here which is nice, because I got hungry afterwards. In the end, my family and I came out with pretty neat pictures and we had a great time. Definitely a must see when in Manila. I've never been to anything like this place!

This is my first 5 star review and it's because I had a great time in this place! It's an amusing alternative to a movie or happy hour. There are so many pictures to see that 2 hours is barely enough time. It's something you can bring anybody to and they will have fun. The only downside is walking barefoot but the enjoyment you get from choosing poses and emoting make up for it. Highly recommended!

My family lives super close to this place, so my mom and I decided to go and we had a blast! My mom absolutely LOVES taking pictures, so much so that it gets annoying after a while - lol. But this was definitely the place where she could take as many photos as possible and no one would get mad! :) They make you take your shoes off before you enter, and it is really the coolest art gallery ever. They need to open one of these up in Los Angeles. There were so many awesome photo ops, and I wanted a picture with almost everything! It's a great place for anyone of any age. I wish I could've experienced it with more of my family, but hey, there's always next time!

Art in Island is definitely a place for all ages who enjoy art with a playful heart. Not only do you feast your eyes on amazingly made art but you get to interact with the 3D paintings in such a way that it boggles your mind. If you wanna have photos with quirkness to it, then you are in the right place. You only need to charge up all the cameras that you'll be bringing because there are a lot of paintings to snap photos of/ Yes, do wear socks because the floor is cold. You're not allowed to wear any other footwear. There are a lot of people who go there especially on the weekends so it's best to go there as early as it opens. If you're a sucker for museums, this place won't disappoint you and you will really get what you paid for despite the pricey tickets.

Great experience had an amazing time here. Was really fun to interact with the artwork. I went solo so the museum had someone assit me in taking photos. She was great. And took some really great photos. Her name was Jackie I believe (I'm not really good with names). Would recommend to anyone if they like art and in Manila to check this place out

Epic pictures and the show is inspiring! Take your time with exploring each illusion art piece. There are suggested camera angles, but I like framing each shot based on my camera. Also, I usually like exploring museums on my own but you need at least one more person to help take pictures (it's not as fun unless you interact). You'll be asked to wear socks only (there is a shoe deposit) and to take pictures without a flash.

This was a very interesting place to visit within an area of the city you would not expect to find this. It was surprisingly big compared to how it looked on the outside. This place was a very unique place in how the art tricks the mind into thinking the art was different than how it truly was. We went during the weekdays and it was not crowded at all. We had plenty of time to take pictures and not have to wait for a chance to pose. This is easily a place that everyone can go as long as you like seeing unique things. Just be mindful that 90% of everything is just painted on the walls and there is not many sculptures. However this does not take away from the fun.

there are stickers on the ground that show you where to step and angle yourself to make the paintings 'come to life'

this was a beautiful place. I visited the Philippines during the summer and this place was on my bucket list. it was so amazing seeing how simple paintings on a wall become interactive on your photos. if you're around Manila, I suggest you visit the place and allow about a little more than 3 hours to go around all the paintings

Only one word to describe. Simply Incredible!! A must see no other way to describe it the art gallery makes you be part of the art work.

Everything about this place is beautiful: the art, the buildings, the decor, the plants, etc. It is a very "instagram-able" worthy place. I can see why people come here to do engagement photo shoots and why they come dressed up as they model around the property. The buildings are white, Spanish style architecture that I would want to build a house like! It is absolutely beautiful. I wish this place was my own personal house. It's surrounded by such beautiful landscape which includes blooming bougainvilleas! They have cafe on site called Cafe Rizal, which is delicious. We went with the pizza and a couple of pasta dishes. Though they do have some Filipino options on the menu as well! The carbonara dish was tasty, and of course, a bit on the heavy side but that's expected with any creamy pasta dish. I highly recommend visiting this place. Anticipate spending at least 2 hours here. If you have any big bags, you will need to check it in front. There's a guard who watches all of your stuff and gives you a claim ticket.

We were finishing up a day trip in the Antipolo area and had to pass by the Pinto MODERN ART Museum. First thing I will say is this museum is NOT for senior citizens. It's a lot of stairs and awkward walking/spaces. My parents and Tias/Tios did not like that. Another negative would be the lack of air flow in the buildings. It was almost stifling in a lot of areas. And we all know that when the air is hot and sticky, the mosquitos come in droves. So even when you're walking around TRYING to appreciate the artwork, you become preoccupied with swatting the mosquitos trying to drain your blood. It was very annoying. Other than that, it's an interesting collection of MODERN art. Definitely NOT for everybody's taste. The architecture of the buildings were amazing though! We really enjoyed imagining the heyday of those houses/buildings. It can be a bit confusing navigating the different buildings; the museum definitely needs to update their signage. Especially during the dusk /evening hours, outdoor signage was greatly lacking and was frustrating many people who were trying to go towards the "exit" --and NOTE, this museum is majority an OUTDOOR/Open-air museum, with a LOT of stairs/steps; NOT good for people with mobility issues. :( The staff were friendly enough and somewhat polite; and for that, they get the 3stars. Otherwise it's an interesting experience and probably NOT for everyone. They do have an eatery on site for those who get hangry when they get lost in the maze. ;)

The last show I've seen was the one-man exhibit of Paul Pfeiffer, entitled Vitruvian Figure, and there has not been a better use of MCAD's hugeness in a while. Recreations of the Philippine arena, a moving image of a sunrise/sunset, and a dark theater screening of a spoken word choir performance echoing the video installations outside really drove the point home of how greatly the museum space elevates the art housed within it. What's great too is that they involve the CSB student body by giving some the opportunity to be mediators and engage visitors by speaking about the works and answering questions about them. It's a pretty cool thing, as it allows people to have a more personal exchange with the works there. I'm glad they've gotten their own entrance along one of the side roads now. Though I fear for the open shelving they have as their bag deposit, it does open the museum a little more to the public. MCAD brims with so much possibility and I look forward to my next visit.

The gallery is very quiet, since the library and thesis archives are on the floor above, so it makes it the perfect place to walk and contemplate your day, or sit down and talk with a friend. I've had a lot of 3-hour conversations on the floor with my best friends in that gallery, contemplating failing grades or stressing out over life in general. It's also a great place to study, as there's a small reading area behind the guard's desk where you can sit and read the various books on art and art history the gallery office holds, or revel in the quiet and do some homework or studying. The gallery offers tours every so often, and entrance is free for Ateneo students, although I'm not sure if it's free as well to outsiders. Needless to say, the experience is worth it, especially if there's a particularly riveting exhibit on display! One particular exhibit that comes to mind was an ocean-themed one. It was held in a dark room where you could see projections of the ocean, and hear the sound of waves and stormy thunder. In fact, the Ateneo Art Gallery does its job so well that every exhibit is a joy to behold, so come in any time if you're in the mood to marvel at all the wonderful art.
