I'm completely baffled by the negative reviews of others, as I've had only wonderful experiences at this shop. Four months ago, I brought in a baby quilt for quilting. Discussed my likes and dislikes with Mary Kay but left it up to her (the professional) to determine the actual pattern to be used. Picked it up what seemed like moments later (it was ready WAY sooner than I had any right to expect). Bound it that same night; presented it to my customers the next morning; everybody was thrilled. I couldn't be happier with the service or the artistry at Loose Threads. Fought my fabric-acquiring instincts due to an already overwhelming stash, but next time I feel my resolve weaken, Loose Threads, here I come. Thanks, Mary Kay. P.S. Am headed there again today to drop off another baby quilt (and maybe pick up an inch or two of whatever yells my name). UPDATE: Again they did a perfect quilting job with virtually no notice. This shop is larger than it appears from the street. It's nicely laid out so that you can transition from neutrals to holiday to juvenile, etc. Really a fabulous selection, including flannel. If you are a quilter, I challenge you to not find something that suits your taste! The shop was well staffed and I was offered assistance but not hovered over. Prices are comparable to other shops. The barn quilts on the outside of the shop add a nice touch. They also have a clothesline outside that they hang sample quilts on when the weather allows. This shop is worth looking for! Following the quilt run. Visited a number of stores met some amazing people but this store has the rudest people I have yet to meet in Wisconsin. I don't think I will ever visit this store again. It is sad because it is has amazing variety of stuff. read more

I was excited when I read about this shop. Disappointed that there was no sale fabric or markdown area. I'll continue to find fabrics online. And I was the ONLY customer in the store when I was there. Two ladies were working and neither even acknowledged me until I was two feet in front of one as I came around the corner. Certainly won't make an effort to return there. read more

I live close by, so after several years, I thought I would check it out. My Boyfriend and I walked in, and the lady at the cutting table, all but rolled her eyes at us. There was no "welcome" no "Hello, how can we help you" Not even a "Have you been here before?" Nothing. As we walked around, we got nasty looks, as if we weren't the type that sews or quilts or even belonged there. We also noticed that an employee, (I can only assume the shop owner) was arguing with a customer about her phone number. The Employee was telling the customer how she (the customer) got her phone number wrong and was very adamant about it, to the point where she was coming off very rude to the customer. I mean, she is there, in your store- apologize for not having the correct info and move on! I have seen better customer service at Wal-Mart. I really don't think I will go back. I did not get any of the warm fuzzies from being in this store. They seriously need to make customers feel welcome- after all, a small sale today, could lead to larger sales later on. Treat everyone the same, you never know what there experience level is. read more

This is the best Quilt Shop in the area. They have such a wonderful variety. The staff is very nicely staffed. They are there to assist if you want it. Always willing to help match up colors. Prepare to spend a lot of time at this wonderful quilt shop. There are kits and nooks and crannies of such treasures. read more
