I went in for a partial balayage and clearly explained that I wanted the TOP of my hair highlighted. I even showed multiple reference photos to make sure there was no confusion. Instead, the stylist focused on the bottom of my hair and gave me very minimal "baby highlights," which was not what I asked for at all. On top of that, I specifically requested that my gray hair be covered, yet I left the salon with a visible patch of gray still in the back of my head. I was also quoted $50 for a haircut beforehand, but was later told it would be $70--and the haircut itself was barely noticeable despite me asking for layers. What made the experience even worse was being asked to pay the full amount BEFORE the service was completed. This made me feel uncomfortable and pressured, especially when it came to tipping, since I hadn't even seen the final result yet. In total, I paid $360 ($50 deposit + $270 service + additional charges), and I left feeling completely dissatisfied. I couldn't even sleep that night because I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I immediately expressed my concerns to the stylist and asked about a partial refund. I was told the owner would contact me on Tuesday--but he never did. I had to follow up myself. When I finally spoke to him, he was dismissive, defensive, and aggressive. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he stated he would review audio and video recordings of my conversation with the stylist--which was also concerning, as customers are not made aware that their conversations may be recorded. He then told me he would "challenge" my dispute and abruptly hung up. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Between the poor results, lack of transparency, pricing inconsistencies, and unprofessional handling of my complaint, I would strongly advise others to think twice before going here. This place deserves no stars!

Despite that, I was scheduled with a stylist who openly expressed that she was not confident performing the service I wanted. She was kind and did the best she could, and I appreciate her effort, but as a paying client, I don't feel that was fair. Hearing another stylist say, "You can do it, it's fine," while my stylist felt uncomfortable moving forward left me feeling uneasy about the entire process. The result is that my first visit feels like a waste of time and money. The weekend I scheduled this appointment for was important to me, and I left without the look I had specifically booked for. More importantly, the lack of follow-up afterward has made me feel like there is little interest in helping me reach the end result that was discussed during my consultation.

That horrendous haircut was the first that I had gotten in the San Antonio area since we moved down here last year. I thought I could just live with it, but I like to go six months between haircuts and there was no way I was going let myself continue to look like I did for 4.5 more months. The salon is located in a tranquil area just off the beaten path but close to 35. The decor is modern and it's very clean. The vibe inside the salon is also very peaceful. Paul was very professional, listened to my complaints, offered good feedback, and gave me the face framing angles I was looking for. Then, he gave me a nice style so I could go home with an extra special look that my husband wouldn't be able to miss. The color I got from the other salon was (is) also a mess, and Paul offered his opinions about my next steps. I believe I will return soon to get my color corrected. I have to also add that when I got home from the salon, my husband commented on how amazing my hair looked perhaps three times in the first hour. I've been home for several hours now, and he is still pausing to look at me, smile, and compliment. Thank you, Paul!
