I highly recommend a tour with Efren for anyone interested in the New York art scene. With a Master of Art in Modern & Contemporary Art from Christie's, Efren can help you appreciate art at a different level. I just completed a 7-gallery tour on the upper east side as part of a private tour. We can tell how much effort Efren had spent in selecting the various galleries and exhibitions to cover in 2 hours, exposing us to a variety of work, from paintings, to sculptures to photography; and from artists who are world famous to ones who are up & coming. I was never particularly fond of modern & contemporary art until today. Efren's explanation of the background of the various artists and their work on display helped me appreciate what I was seeing. Efren's time management was also superb, completing an aggressive agenda in 2- hours without me feeling being rushed. I would definitely go on his tours again. read more

I attended Efren's lectures on Contemporary Photography. He manages to keep an audience fully engaged during a lecture given his knowledge and passion about his topic. The content and structure of his talks are well thought-out and enable audiences to relate personally to what he is discussing. I look forward to future lectures. I also took two art tours and they were phenomenal : one looking at a few art galleries in the city and the second one at the MET Museum for a particular exhibit. He is a fantastic pedagogue, always giving a lot of insights and knowledge about the art in a very professional yet fun and entertaining way. He provides a lot of time to appreciate the pictures and not rush from one to the other which I found essential in the appreciation of diverse styles. There is always room to ask questions and he always denotes a profound knowledge and passion for what he does. Pablo L read more

My husband and I have now taken 3 of Efren's gallery tours and they have all been fabulous! He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of art and he makes a somewhat daunting subject -- art galleries -- very approachable. We saw a great variety of works -- contemporary, performance, modern masters, even AI-generated photographs. His choice of galleries ranges from "blue chip" like Gagosian, Zwirner and Aquavella to smaller venues specializing in female artists, for example. He has fingers on the pulse of the art world and shares his love of it with ease and generosity. Highly recommend taking one of his tours! read more

Efren is extremely knowledgeable about photography and he loves to share his knowledge in an accessible, relaxed fashion. In one of his lectures you'll learn not only about the photographers and their work but their background, their inspiration and their process. At a time when real travel is limited, Efren's lectures take us to Paris, Berlin, London, Zurich, San Francisco, Chicago, Mexico and beyond, from the mid 19th Century up to the present. Whenever I go to a museum now I delight in the insights I have gained from Efren's talk, and see the art anew. read more

We enjoyed a wonderful guided gallery tour in Chelsea today! Efren curated an excellent selection of art and artists for us to see. It that had a meaningful flow, and while we saw 8 shows in 2 hrs., it still had a relaxed pace. He is well informed about each artist and exhibition, and adds in-depth art historical context too. Efren is a warm and welcoming person, and it's just a pleasure to spend time with him. It was also a nice mix of people in attendance, and we had some fun conversations. -- Maryann & Wolfgang read more

Fantastic tour of Chelsea galleries. Efren did a lot of preparation work so that at each gallery we had a good overview of the artist and their work and importantly the context of their work in American Art. He is so passionate about it and makes art completely accessible. Art is for everyone, not just for those with big checkbooks and Efren embodies this. Do it - you won't find a better guide. read more
