Carpet price was competitive. Installation crew did not seem to speak English and did not understand the carpet was to go wall to wall and acted surprised when it was explained the existing carpet was partially removed along a border. They had to move the tack strip. The installation, once that was conveyed, was done well but the crew left a mess, both in the room and in the garage. Wife had to literally chase down their van in the driveway to get them to sweep the garage (with our broom!). We took care of the room itself, but worse still was the mess they left in the bathroom. read more

We stopped by the store over the weekend. Great selection and decent prices. We were looking to carpet 3 rooms, nearly 1000 square ft. Like most, we wanted to shop the competition. Of the 3 stores we went to in Rockford, Lonnies was the only store that didn't wear masks, Not One Employee! During a serious pandemic, this made me walk away thinking that they don't care about me or the customers they serve. Unfortunately, I left the store and instantly decided I wouldn't be back. I know it's everyone's personal choice if you want to wear a mask or not, but I never thought a business would make that bold of a statement to not comply with the recommendations of the CDC. My $8000 purchase and loyalty is now with a competitor. Such a simple thing to do to show your customers that you care and you failed! Note: This review is for The MaxCare Professional Cleaning System", which is offered through Lonnie's Carpet Max. Although we have been happy with our purchases from Lonnie's Carpet Max, we are disgusted with their rug cleaning service, "The MaxCare Professional Cleaning System". We bought 5 area rugs from Lonnie's 4 years ago. We needed to get one cleaned right away after our dog vomited on it. They did a great job with that rug. As our dog got older, he urinated frequently on the largest rug. We took it in to have it cleaned, intending to wait until the dog died to use it again. That was about a year ago. We left it rolled up in an unused bedroom until we could lay it down again. The dog died; we finally got the furniture moved and laid the rug down last weekend. It smelled AWFUL!! We sprinkled baking soda, sprayed it with vinegar and vacuumed it. The stench was unbearable. Today we moved all of the furniture again, hauled it out to the garage and ran our carpet cleaner on it, using OxiClean, then vinegar water, then a 3rd time with Nature's Miracle enzyme cleaner. Based on the dirty water that was extracted into the machine's tank, in addition to the rank odor, we think that the folks at The MaxCare Professional Cleaning System could not possibly have cleaned this rug. Perhaps an employee thought it had been cleaned and rolled it up, even though it hadn't been cleaned. We didn't contact the store to complain, since it was about a year or more ago that this was "cleaned" by them, nor do we have a receipt. We wish we would have realized sooner that it hadn't been cleaned, especially since it cost us several hundred dollars. Next time we'll just do the cleaning ourselves. Fingers crossed that we were able to remove the odors today. read more

Our experience has been a nightmare. After purchasing flooring, 4 men (oof) showed up on Thursday at 0750. After about 2 hours of actual work ans only one of 3 rooms almost finished, they left a pile of supplies and unfinished threshold, and said they'd be back on Monday because they couldn't wait for my husband and I to move our hutch (the hutch was only in one room not 3). I called the salesperson Dave and the warehouse supervisor Chris and complained however, that was a waste of time because the workers were sent to another job. I was told I would have to wait till Monday or get a refund. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

When I finally got in touch with the people who could make things happen, I did get my issues resolved. Mind you, it took 2 years, but it did get done. I bought flooring for a basement office. The rep at Lonnie's suggested a new vinyl material that not only looked great (like wood), but would hold up to any moisture or water build-up that could occur during the unpredictable springs/summers of the midwest. The floors look great and have held up nicely. The rep was easy to work with and since they are a local, family-owned business, you can trust that they will follow up with any issues and you have a good shot at working with the same rep the next time you need new flooring. Unfortunately, I can only review the performance of the salesperson I was dealing with. I don't like to waste time so I called to set an appointment with Bryan. I arrived on time and ready to make a decision on tile for a remodel job only to be informed that he was on a delivery for one of his customers and would return shortly.I waited for 30 minutes then left. I will not work with someone who values his time only and not mine as well. He had my phone number so not to at least call to reschedule was just rude. read more

Lonnie's Carpet Max ! No wonder they advertise so heavily, cause they sure ain't depending upon customer satisfaction, repeat business or customer recommendations,obviously. We made the mistake of going to Lonnie's Carpet Hacks a few weeks ago for a labor and materials estimate on bathroom tile and wood floors throughout. We went ahead and purchased the bathroom tiles according to THEIR ESTIMATE, and awaited their written labor estimate along with two others After calling multiple times we finally received their estimate, It was a piece of notepad paper with figures scribbled all over and little or no information as to what the job would entail.Thankfully we didn't use their labor and hired someone else to do the job. We figured 44 tiles, The Carpet Hacks said 55. So low and behold, when the job was finished we had 13 left over.The Carpet Hacks said they weren't responsible for the excess cost and would not allow a return of the tiles or a refund. Needless to say, The wood floors will be purchased elsewhere. Stay away from Lonnie's Carpet Max They are unethical and underhanded in their business practices. read more

We have had a very difficult whole- kitchen renovation (7 months at this time), but Lonnie's has proven to stick to their word and has been out a few times to resolve a floor issue (that may or may not have been their doing via subcontractor). Chase has been very professional and kind, even when I have been quite frustrated and not so nice. The floor issue is not 100% resolved- but it is much much better. Thank you. read more

Had carpet layed in 2010 they seamed the floor wrong had to call them twice to try to fix it ! They came out all they did was try to roll it down! Still could see the seam and The carpet where the seam is , is comming up! Still It look's so bad going to have to call someone else to fix this! Don't go to Lonnie's!!!!! read more

I purchased carpet and tile from Lonnie's Carpet Connection the end of 2017 and installed the beginning of 2018. My sales rep Larry was excellent and a pleasure to work with. If Larry was not in other employees were more than willing to help. There were a few snags but Lonnie's went out of their way to make things right and were very accommodating with our project timeline changes. This place has zero follow through or they will tell you what you want to hear and then drop the ball when the time comes. 4 years ago I would have given them a 4 star but something has happened to how they are running their business now! Maybe new ownership which would be the kids and they don't care about building their business so don't help them!!!!!!!! This was one of the worst buying experiences I have ever had. I wish I had paid closer attention to the other reviews, but unfortunately I did not. Lonnie's has hands down the worst customer service I have dealt with in a very long time. Rude and unprofessional, to say the least. It took at least 7 visits after their "guaranteed" perfect installation and I am still left with a floor the is bubbled and warped in a major area. The 1st installer had to make 4 visits alone just to do the door ways and transitions because he had no idea what he was doing. He also begged me not to call the store about it as he would get a "ding". Then other issues arose and their head installer Chris and Lonnie himself came to check out the issue, was told it would be fixed again I am still left with a massive bubble in the middle of the flooring and was told there was nothing wrong with the install (even though it took 7 tries until I called it quits) and they will not reimburse me for any time or cost on the install. After sending an email to the "high ups" (can't get any higher than Lonnie I would assume) and not even getting a reply back for 4 days, it was evident that they could care less. They got their money and are moving on. I could not imagine a company where the owner was CC on an email from a customer who was completely screwed over not even taking a few moments to reply and at least make things right. I will never even consider using this establishment again and if I can deter just one person by this review and help them save time and headache by this post, then I will feel I have helped in some way. Buyer beware... There are many other options in the Rockford area I urge you to use. read more

Had to be the weirdest carpet experience ever. Stopped in to look at "dog proof" carpet. I know, there's no such thing but I had to see if there was a chance. Had a "gentleman" approach me as I'm walking in, kinda reminded me of a used car salesman (just had that look). So I ask about dog proof carpet. He shows me carpet made for animal traffic that also has a great guarantee. Before I could look at the different patterns he walks me over to the "CHEAP" carpet and proceeds to tell me I could change "this" carpet 3 times for the price of the doggie carpet (even references his math). I'm thinking, seriously, so this cheap carpet is gonna hold it's price forever, and every 3 or 4 years I have to move all my furniture, go into his store and find more "cheap" carpet etc, etc, etc. He even goes onto explain that since he has the cheap carpet in stock he can work on the price point. I'm stunned, confused, a lot disappointed. As I walk out I see the dog proof carpet I originally was looking at was on sale. All I can figure is he was out to get rid of his in stock carpet. Won't go back, hate being pushed to something I don't want. read more

Getting measured for hard wood floors, carpet, and tile was easy. Getting flooring and tile picked and ordered was less easy, but not too bad. It's hard to get a call back to make arrangements - that's the biggest problem. Instructions were not followed, so they had to come back and fix it - which took forever. Was promised to have some adjustments made after hard wood was put in - it was never done and arranging to get it done took several phone calls. The product quality is good. The service people who install the product are very good. The customer service end at Lonnie's leaves something to be desired. If you smile and promise me the world - I expect you to give me the world. I won't bother with this company again - and I spent ALOT of money here. read more

Stopped in to look at carpeting for our entire house. We had been to a few other carpet stores in the area and had found one carpet in particular that we were interested in. I noticed that the prices on the displays were quite a bit more than what I had seen in other stores which was somewhat of a surprise since Lonnies markets heavily on how they have the lowest prices. When I spoke to a salesman I explained that I was looking to purchase approximately 190 yards of carpeting and asked if he would like to quote me a price. He left to "see what he could do". When he returned he quoted me a price that was quite a bit higher than other quotes I received. When I told him his price was far out of line and that the other quotes included tear out and haul away of my old carpet he stated that he would have to call his carpet rep to try and get special pricing. I gave him my info and he said he'd get back to me with a new price quote. Well that was a month ago now and still no call. Apparently they don't like to compete for your business.I moved on and you should too. read more
