Not entirely sure if this little box will give me enough characters to express the love I have for this place! You will not run into one person from this facility that does not exude passion for the animals and the riding. In my opinion the barn walls are starting buckle under the pressure from trying to contain it. My little cousin, whom I adore has been going to Longview for only two months. She had done some riding before but never English. It is absolutely amazing to me to see the progress Ry has made, and I am not even meaning just in her riding. Ry can be pretty shy and lack confidence. In two short months the instructors have really pulled Ry out of her cocoon. She walks and talks with her head held high. They have even invited Ry to be apart of their riding academy and volunteer program. Apparently, that is the highest honor, because she was acting like she won the Nobel Peace Prize or something. Longview Stables is one of the most welcoming of stables I have ever been to. Trust me with Ry's shyness and what not we have been to several different stables looking for the one! I am happy to say I believe she found if (finally!). My parents are barn managers for a barn in New Jersey, every time I drive up to Longview I honestly feel a sense of "coming home". I love it when the owner brings her pooches out to play! Every inch and speck of dust from this place has so much personality and character! Longview also boards, as well as rescues horses. Copper is my favorite pasture ornament they have. It is sad to know especially with older horses that you will never be able to hide the years of abuse these animals endure. Ry's mom rescued an old mustang from a riding facility. When she got her she was almost 400 lbs underweight and still being forced to go on 9 mile trail rides. Unfortunately, when a horse is this abused for that long, you may never get a horse back to how "they should look". No matter how many groceries and pasture time you give them they may always have their withers, croup and hip bones showing. I think its their way to remind everyone how cruel some people can be. It takes a special kind of person to take on the that responsibility as well. I have a ton of respect for the owners for doing so, just as I have a ton of respect for my cousin. We were talking the other night about my Dad's best friend, she is the head coach for the Delaware State University's equestrian team. Ry confided that she felt the under the guidance of the instructors at Longview Stables she feels she can make it on one of those teams someday, and/or be a world champion like Kayla. I guess my point in this book that I have written thus far is, I encourage you to bring your son or daughter and even yourself to Longview. It truly is a great place to go to learn to ride and call home! read more

Moving to a new state is hard. I moved from Simpsonville Kentucky where I road saddlebreds for around 15 years. Being from Simpsonville, which is the Saddlebred capital of the world, I am used to the best of the best. Seeing the best barns, the nicest horses, the biggest horse show in my own backyard. Coming to Colorado is difficult especially because it is rare to find saddlebreds out west. However Patty and Kayla could not have been nicer to me when I walked into the barn. They made it feel like I walked into a home, like seeing long lost friends, they helped me overcome my longing for Kentucky. They were so inviting and so welcoming when I took my very first lesson at their barn. The instruction could not have been better, the people could not have been nicer, and the horses could not have been prettier. My son absolutely loves the riding lessons he receives from Kayla at Longview Stables. The quality of instruction is amazing and was from the very first ride. My son has learned how to become a horseman through lessons, shows, summer camp and volunteer opportunities that the stable offers its riders throughout the year. He has also been coached in the art of sportsmanship, which is lacking in many of the riders we have observed from other barns. Longview is an older facility, but most of the state of the art ones across metro area cannot compete with the level of commitment, support and genuine love Longview riders receive from the trainers. Longview Stables offers comprehensive training for beginning and experienced riders and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to participate in this wonderful sport. I have ridden at Longview since I was 8. I moved a year ago out of town but still keep in touch. I am now 15, and enjoyed many years of instruction and riding with the best. Don't go there unless you really want to be the best. Patty Wooters is truly incredible and knows how to train riders and horses. Riding as a 9 year old with only three months on a fabulous hot mare I took 4th in the World against 17 year old riders in Kentucky. I have since finished 1st twice in Nationals in Western and county pleasure. Have won several State Championships and last year was 3rd in the the Nation for points for all owners with USEF. The addition of Kayla has only strengthen the training of Lonview. Would highly recommend them. read more

Longview Stable's was so much fun! I had a great time with the horses and learning from such talented women who truly know what they are talking about. This is a great place for beginners wanting to learn the basics of riding to those more experienced and wanting to learn the specifics of success.
