I called James Kennedy for a quote to install an outdoor 240 volt outlet for an Electric Car…read moreCharger at our vacation home in Blowing Rock. James set an appointment for the following day to come and inspect the job. He showed up on time (even texting me when he was on the way). He spent time examining our service panel and taking all the necessary measurements for the job. During his time here he answered any questions I had and made sure he understood what our expectations were. He explained what he would be proposing and said he would provide us with several options. When he left he said he would email us detailed estimates no later than that weekend. As promised he emailed it to me right on time. Ironically, in spite of how very pleased I was with our interactions and James's professionalism, I never proceeded with the project. For the few months we are here and with our limited miles driven, I couldn't justify the expense, especially since there are several free chargers located relatively nearby. I will conclude by saying if I were in need of services from an electrician, James Kennedy would be the first person I would call.

I dont know who was silly enough to put that one five star review on here. But Mountain Electric is…read morea bunch of monopolozing crooks who raise electric rates in a place where wages stay the same, customer service is rude as can be, they always make it seem like its the consumer's fault for just reporting outages, and its only getting worse. As I said a moment ago, wages in the area they operate in roughly stay the same, no pay increases, barely anywhere to make even 15 dollars a hour, and where jobs in general are scarce. Our region gets hot a humid in the summer, increasing risk to heatstroke immensely, and completely flips script when winter comes, hence meaning the chances for hypothermia is also increased. If you dont have a chimney in your home you're doomed to freeze or kill your wallet over and over just to barely slide by. I myself am one of these people who empty my wallet and my savings time and time and time again just to barely stay in the green with these monsters. They truly need to be put in check, so thats why I leave this review here
