Long Term Financial has been taking care of our taxes for years now. They are always professional and honest. People complain about a wait time. Make sure you make an appointment. This place is HORRIBLE! The terribly overbook and we have been audited for the last 2 years due to faulty preparation. Documents that were submitted went missing, pages were missing from our filing causing my husband to have to redo the taxes in order to correct the issues. When we scheduled an appointment to resolve the matter we sat in the lobby for over 2.5 hours. Other patrons complained they'd been here for over 1.5 hours. A gentleman who had his appointment nearly an hour after ours, complained about his wait (after waiting 30 or so minutes) and they told him to come on back. Even though we were still sitting there. When we brought this to the managers attention, after we noticed him heading to the tax preparers office, they responded that it's not their policy to have someone leave once their appointment has started. We were outraged. I will NEVER return to this business. They are terribly unprofessional! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. This is a nightmare. I have had to pay over $15,000 just in interest and penalties not to mention literally tens of thousand of dollars paid to IRS because of the inept service. 2013,2014,2015 so far audited and not yet resolved. I am seriously considering legal action. read more

BEWARE! I really wish I would have read the reviews before I got my taxes done here. They are unprofessional! They take no accountability for any of their mistakes and believe me there were many. The spelling was inaccurate no apology ever. I got my taxes filed in Feb it's not April 19th (now past the IRS deadline) and my state returns still have not been submitted as they just informed me I need to mail it in. DO NOT COME HERE!!! THEY NEED TO BE REPORTED TO BBB! How in the hell are they still in business?! All of the reviews are accurate. I only got my taxes done here because I was referred to Amira (the owners' daughter). This establishment is the most negligent, avoidant, and unprofessional business that I've ever had file my taxes. I provided them with my tax info 2 weeks before the deadline. My taxes did not get filed until the week after the deadline and I still haven't gotten my refund yet. When I called or attempted to reach them in all communicable ways possible; I was ignored, half-assed given information, and lied to. When I called to to inquire about the status of my filing; they acted as if my call was a disturbance in their day, and spoke with a "HOW DARE YOU QUESTION ME?!," tone. It's now 5 business days away from July, and I still haven't received my refund. Please know that I've only rated them at a 1-star, because there wasn't a LOWER RATING. I would've given this rude, unreliable, poorly managed establishment a -50 star if it was an option. read more

Long Term Financial Services is the WORST TAX SERVICE. They are negligent and unprofessional. I will say that when Mr. Irving Langham prepared my taxes, I never had any problems; however, since his death, the wife and daughter are now preparing taxes and both are horrible. I paid to have 2 years prepared and filed. Two months later I received a notice from the IRS stating that my taxes had not been filed. I immediately contacted them and spoke to Amira. Two months after that I received Another letter from IRS. Instead of filing my tax returns for both years even though I paid for them to file it, they only filed one year. She informed me that it was too late for them to file my taxes even though I paid for that service and told me that I had to file the myself. She asked me for my email address which I provided and she said she would send them over when she got to the office. I asked for a refund for that service and she said she couldn't do that. I checked my email and nothing. I called the next day and she said she sent them but to the wrong email address. As you can imagine, I was livid. She sent my personal information to someone else. Her response was we make mistakes and we will take 50% off the next year. Why would I every hire such incompetent negligent people to do my taxes again?? I requested that they pay for credit monitoring services since this was clearly a breech. They gave my private information, social security number, address, etc to someone else and then acted very nonchalant about it. The charged me for services that they did not provide and dint refund those either. They are a negligent unprofessional tax firm. I would never use them again. I definitely plan to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I dropped my taxes off to be prepared before the deadline and they stopped answering the phone. I'm in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state, as well as contacting the media, and the IRS. This place needs to be exposed, and I'll be the one to do it. I wish there was a negative star because this place does not deserve a 1star. This company is unprofessional, unresponsive and illresponsible. First year i came I realize that there was no real signage. Suite location wasn't properly marked. Then when I scheduled my initial appointment, no told me I had to check in downstairs in the back of the building and wait there until you are called up, then, go drive arround to upper level waiting room, to sit some more. You would think if they schedule appoints you will be seen at that time, maybe within 15-20 min. Not an hour plus. Following year I schedule my appointment and remembered to check in the back. Only to find no signage and locked doors. I called and the person who answered said, oh no body told you the lower level will be closed today. I getup stairs and wait an hour and a half before being seen. Then a little.over two weeks later i realized that I never received confirmation from the governments that taxes were received. When I went to IRS.gov they had no records. I called over 12 times with broken promises for returned calls, excuses and throwing blame that IRS I missing up. Finally getting answers after days of calling. She admitted that someone in the office drop the ball. I called back 5 more times leaving messages and no answers to get this fixed. Forced to try to fine a solution in tube 11th hour. I wouldn't let them do my taxes for free. Once they have your money you are a nonfactor. I urge you to find a much better, cost effective, professional, responsive, accountable company. Because this place is not it. read more

The early bird gets the worm again this year. I have patronized Long Term Financial for over a decade now. My annual goals has always been, to be one of the first customers in their door. This goal goes back to years ago, when the first to schedule an appointment received $25 off your tax preparation fee. Trust me...I am an organized, detail oriented individual with lots of questions, so when my appointment arrives, I valued my one-on-one time with the late Mr. LANGHAM, and Ms. Amira. I am afforded an opportunity to catch up on priceless time shared with Long Term Financial staff to include Mrs. Val, and then straight to business. I too have discovered a few typos over the years, but quickly raise with staff for rectifying. Found a typo just last evening, emailed Mr. Lewis at Long Term Financial for correction, and Mr. Lewis promptly contacted me first thing this morning informing me the correction had been made. They are error prone, avoidant and rushed. They gave me a set of financial forms with inaccuracies. I told Amira about it. She updated the forms. But, when I got them back I noticed other inaccuracies. I asked for a partial refund and haven't gotten a response, after numerous phone calls and emails. Each time the support staff told me someone would get back to me, but no one ever did. My next step is to file a complaint with the BBB. read more

This place has such poor customer service. The wait times are problematic! Don't book someone for an appointment time just to have them waiting for nearly 2 hours to be seen, that is ridiculous! Aside from that, you have to first sign in downstairs around back, wait for an hour, then come around the front of the building upstairs, only to wait for another hour before being seen! Please revise your booking schedules & invest more into your customers. read more

If I could give less than a 1 star I would. I concur with the previous reviewer, this place is unprofessional and lack integrity. We have been audited twice because of their sloppy tax work. After trying to communicate by telephone, e-mail, fax & certified letter, they still have not responded. Needless to say, this has cost us financially, due to their errors in preparing our returns. IRS or some other government entity needs to investigate this business! I plan to make a formal complaint with the BBB, FTC, the MD licensing board and file with Small Claims Court to try to recoup interest & penalties we incurred due to their negligence! I don't think I have ever bothered to write a review bc my time is too valuable. However, after this foolishness I will happily share the lack of service provided. Prior to sending my tax information, I asked were they still accepting clients ( April 9), quickly received a reply of yes. The same day I sent over my information. On the next day, I was sent a form to fill out, as I was a new client. Well, that's where it went to hell in a hand basket. On Saturday, 4/13, I asked was there anything else needed and the status. I called on Monday at 11am, tax day, asking what is the status. I spoke with Preston, who said "oh let me check and I will call you back in a few minutes". Clearly, he does not know what a few minutes is bc I emailed at 3 and called at 4. I spoke with him again and he said " oh she didn't call you, let me check the file, I don't see any updates, I will speak to her as soon as she is free and call you back." Needless to say, I'm still waiting on that call. So at 9pm on tax day, I am doing my own taxes for which I knew I would owe and wanted to either filed an extension or do installments. Well, my degrees are in nursing and not accounting nor am I a tax specialist. I'm not sure if I did the correct thing. Needless to say, their lack of care, customer service, and business ethics has caused me much headache. read more

Ridiculous. DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE!! I waited 2 hours (with an appointment made and arriving 15 prior to my appt time) I was told to wait "just a few mins". After all that time waiting it only took a few mins to get my actual taxes prepared then on all my paperwork it says I am to pay $375... But I was told and only paid $350..... Seems like they are doing some type of scan with there business if you ask me. I was told not to worry about what it said on my paperwork. I did my taxes on April 14th, 2017 and I have yet to receive my MD tax return (now May 24th, 2017) when I called they said my return was "missed" and needed to be "reinstated" and to call back 2 days later when the person (Amira Langham) is in and able to do it, when I call back today I was told she did not come in today and will be in tomorrow. Very unprofessional. When telling family about this incident, one of them told me they did there taxes at this place years ago and was audited and had to pay back thousands of dollars. I am worried about the amount i received back (as it was more than I ever have) and know that this is probably because of fraudulent things they say to try to get increased returns.
