Got two pepper sprays from here. Customer service was good, I was in and out in less than 5mins and got a sticker. There weren't very much pepper sprays to very much to choose from, I got one of the last Sabre ones which is what I was looking for but they only had violet. Loved that they had two dogs roaming the store, they were adorable ! read more

Went here for the first time two days ago and can't say enough good things about this store, the people here are very helpful and great to work with. Highly recommend read more

Yesterday I purchased my 5th handgun and today i purchased an AR 15 From LI gun source. The reason I keep going back is because of their excellent customer service. They are patient and give you a detailed breakdown of any gun in that store. I was also in their first conceal carry class. Today while I was there it was pretty busy but every customer was in a good mood. I even started talking to a few myself. Great ambiance. BTW i have worked with Chris( tall guy) but everyone is great, will continue to shop there. read more

Great experience, helpful with all my questions. Very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended

Great group of people working there. It's non intimidating, very informative. They want to educate you on the firearms not just sell you something you don't need. Highly recommend, will be going back for sure. read more

these guys have a decent selection, good customer service and prices aren't too bad. will definitely recommend them to my friends.

These guys were awesome. I came In looking for some pieces to finish up my first AR build and the young guy helping me explained how every piece functioned in the gun and more. Decent prices, Super friendly, and service is quick. Also they have some real cool guns hanging from the ceiling(not for sale). read more

This is my gun source. Everyone has been helpful and informative. At times, I just go to ask questions and shoot the breeze. Love this place! read more

I recently used L.I. Gun Source to transfer guns to another state. Chris and staff were excellent. I decided to go back and complete the NYS Concealed Carry Class. I was not disappointed, excellent instructors and a wealth of information, thanks. read more

I was looking to sell a gun and buy a new one. I live in Nassau County and visited several stores in my area. I then found Long Island Gun Source online and was impressed with their pricing for the ammo I wanted to purchase. So I made the trip out to LI Gun Source and was very happy that I did. They offered me a very fair price for my gun and had the best price for the one I wanted to purchase. Their ammo was less expensive than the other shops as well. A great store with great staff as well. Pete, Corey, Jessica and Chris were all personable, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Great experience. I will be making the trip again! Thanks. read more

You guys are always awesome! You let me handle the firearms before I even bought one from you, and now you have me interested in AK's where I was looking for an AR. But what you actually sold me was the Ruger PC9 I had been looking for for MONTHS! Well, you actually sold it to my hubby because I was in the hospital and you had limited supply, but no matter! There was no 'price gouging' here. Consider how supply and demand affect costs. Prices are higher everywhere right now because everything is so hard to find. However, LIGS is definitely AVERAGE OR BETTER when it comes to COVID pricing. This also goes for ammo. Did I overpay for my rifle? Sure I did. Did I do my research and accept those terms under less-than-ideal circumstances? I did that, too. People need to take responsibility for their own decisions. You have the entire time they're running the background check to change your mind. Thanks again, guys! I'll continue to see you every weekend for 9mm ammo on my way to the range! read more

Always a good experience whether we're purchasing a firearm, doing a FFL transfer or just asking questions. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and on a recent visit they didn't have what I was looking for, but they searched the internet and told me where I could purchase that item. They may have lost a sale that day but they gained a loyal customer thanks to their helpfulness. My husband and I also just completed their concealed carry class which was very informative and much more reasonably priced than many of the others out there. (Thanks Cliff, Chris and Dan!) I highly recommend them to all my AWA sisters who are looking for a great gun store without an attitude. read more

Terrific establishment all around. Fair prices, great personalities and you'll never get "The gun store attitude" from them. LIGS has a streamlined inventory of the most popular guns and a very extensive used/consignment section that is out on the floor so you can take your time and get a hands on feel for your options. Also a big plus is the availability of powder and primers, which is getting harder and harder to find in brick and mortar stores. Overall they are very dedicated to what they do and you'll realize that after your first experience with them. read more

One of my favorite gun shops on the island!! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff!! And they have a very nice selection of firearms and accessories!! read more

So many people have asked me how to protect their home. Being in the home service industry I can only do so much,, lighting, cameras, locks etc. I come across all types of people. Most of them, normal people that I could recommend my guys at Long Island Gun Source. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Cliff and his crew on multiple occasions. My own personal firearm needs, my family members, friends, and customers, some in law enforcement , some never held a gun before. The crew at Long Island Gun Source always gives you personal treatment. Makes you feel special. Recommends the right set up for your specific needs or wants. An older female customer who wanted a gun and training to feel safe in her own home I sent her to LIGS. She calls me and thanks me specifically for recommending the store in Medford. Thanks guys again for making me look so good with my customer and taking care of another person I sent your way. Many guys love your place but this women was special and you really hit it out of the park ! That's my wife is comfortable handling a gun and so many people tell me what a great experience they had purchasing new and used pieces from your store. read more

See all

Yeah , horrible service .. the younger guys are nice and helpful but the older guys should not be working at the store . If you ask a question they treat you like a piece of garbage and try to make you feel stupid. I would't recommend shopping here . I had $1800 in my pocket ready to buy but the service was horrible so I went elsewhere. read more

great service go check them out you won't regret it they have everything you would need. read more

The guys in there are great. Very friendly and very helpful. They will definitely be getting more of my business.

There's a couple of older guys there shouldn't work in a business where you have to deal with people they seem like they can't be bather and a little rude I've seEn this a few times I been in there all I can say is if you don't want to deal with people and do yr job you Should ups say home you give a big business a bad rap I guess the owner doesn't notice this . read more

Generally unhelpful and rude business. The younger guys who work here are helpful and friendly, but many of the older employees definitely display the "gun store attitude." I'll be going to other stores in the future where there is less disrespect towards repeat customers. A few other notes: - LIGS has significantly raised prices following COVID. While they claim that some of this comes from increased vendor prices, they have some of the highest transfer fees in the area now - despite the fact that these costs have not risen. - The transfer fees listed on Yelp (posted by the owner 8 months ago) are not accurate. I paid $40 for a lower transfer a few weeks ago. Overall, Long Island may be severely lacking in firearm stores, but you can still do a lot better than here. read more

The people are great and will help you find what you need and if they don't have it they will order what you won't there are a lot of options and new stuff all the time. They also have a lot of amo and scopes I will only by my stuff from them read more

Their staff is extremely helpful. They explained every detail and answered all of my questions from start to purchase. Friendly staff and not intimidating. Wide selection to find exactly what you are looking for. read more

Very friendly and professional folks over there. I got my first pistol from them. They explained every step of the way to go through the process of registration which was a bit intimidating for a first-timer. Bob and Cliff even went into the details like how the pistol should be presented to the clerk without making them nervous. In the recent transaction, my NICS check was denied by mistake (which was reverted shortly after). Cliff and his crew did everything they could to try to correct it with great patience. So far the experience has been all great and will definitely come back. Also, the location of the store is ideal. It is only 10 minutes driving to the police headquarter, which saves lots of hassle of driving long distance back and forth for the "Yaphank shuffle" :-). read more

This is a small shop but a great one. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Ammo is very reasonable priced. Selection is limited but they can always special order whatever you need. I highly recommend doing business here. read more

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson Although, you can never put a price on freedom. The owner of Long Island Gun Source keeps the cost of freedom low. At this location I was able to find out that you could Buy, Sell, Trade and even Transfer firearms. This location keeps the NYS SAFETY ACT in play if you're a first timer looking to own your very own firearm. Very informational staff. Reliable FFL. Highly recommended. The location is somewhat hidden. The building is located behind a Sunoco. Once you've spotted the BRIGHT ORANGE DOOR on the building you walk into the garage/warehouse and follow the signs that lead you upstairs to the office. If you're in the market for your first or maybe another firearm for your collection, Head on over to Long Island Gun Source. read more

I went there a couple times this weekend, both times everyone was extremely helpful and attentive. They answered our questions, were honest and friendly the entire time. Definitely will be returning, they made this a fun experience in the friendliest environment. read more

WARNING! WARNING!! WARNING!!! This place is completely unethical and disgraceful for price gouging during this pandemic that so many are going through hardships. I purchased as a first time unknowingly a shotgun for $1000 to later find out is only worth $700 and after leaving numerous messages to store got a return call today after 4 days of messages on easter sunday by the disgraceful owner who found it funny to knowingly price gouge because other stores were doing it. Did nothing to resolve my unsatisfied overpriced gouged purchase. This place needs to be ashamed of themselves and with great warning Stay AWAY!! Places like this are very foolish since it will only hinder their business moving forward as more n more people find out. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your in no way sorry because your shop showed no compassion whatsover. The response on the phone was full of nonsense lies one after another and it continues here. I didnt say i was only in hardship the whole world is in hardship and quite frankly not ur business whats priority in my life ok!! The only thing tampered with is ur delusional lies that u feel are true with some nonsesne 3k facebook following team, lol a joke! Im not the first to complain and wont be the last! U have lost too many customers from ur unethical bussiness practices that you try to indemnify as legit and true when merely they are all lies and disgraceful. You have no consideration to the hardships anybody is going thru from how you replied and the decieving lies i witness. You will ultimately pay the business pricetag at end of day, and with a little karma you will be in hardship to realize the worth of being an ethical successful legitimate compassionate business owner!! Capesh!! read more

Prices are slightly higher than walmart and dicks, but you're getting great customer service from people who know about firearms and respect the 2nd amendment! read more

Very nice people had what I needed as far as ammo especially during this whole ammo shortage

I for one have had a great experience doing business with Long Island gun source. Considering the lack of availability for ammunition, prices were set very fair. No price gouging at all as far as prices listed for firearms. Sometimes people who do the complaining just have a sore ass to begin with. read more

These guys are great! I have visited quite a few times and bought many items and guns. They aren't over priced like a bunch of places I've visited. They are willing to spend time talking to and educating you if you have questions. You don't have to worry about feeling stupid and getting curt answers and rolled eyes. They helped me while building my AR which I knew absolutely nothing about. read more

I had a great experience with long island gun source. Went in late on a Saturday after work and they were very friendly and accommodating. The particular shotgun i wanted was out of stock but they took a deposit from me for one that was coming in with zero hassle. Few weeks later i received a phone call that was ready and i picked it up quickly with some ammo. The whole thing was great and i will be down again! read more

The guys at LI gun source are great. I asked them to order me a lower receiver and couldn't make up my mind about which color I wanted...so they ordered both. Very friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy or snobby like some other shops. I would recommend to new and experienced shooters. Thanks again guys! read more
