No one acknowledges you or asks if you need help. No one says goodbye or thank you. Over the phone , even worse if that's possible . They have no idea how many sales they've lost since I run a music school in the area. Their inventory of books is pathetic and their knowledge of such zero. Just a great staff and a terrific store. The staff are hard-working, knowledgable and will not hesitate to ask if you need assistance. I was interested in buying an unusual electric guitar. I was talking with the manager about it and he said they could order it, and if I didn't like it.....no problem. I ordered it, and I ended up keeping it. They've helped me with PA systems, special effects, computer and synthesizer issues.....they've never let me down. Don't go anywhere else! read more

The only other review says great, hard working staff? I have the total opposite experience. I found the staff at this location indifferent to customers and overtly snotty to other staff members. Higher than average prices are generally acceptably offset by superior service and attention to the customer experience. After this poor experience, I tucked my money back in my pocket and walked out. It will be interesting to see what response I get from Steve Long as I wrote to him to express my concern at this horrible experience. read more

Every time I come in here, no one even acknowledges me or asks me if I need help. No one says goodbye or thank you. They are either no where to be seen, or just talking on the phone or each other. It takes 20 minutes to get help at the counter, employees seem so disinterested and disgruntled. It's not a very nice environment to be in. I may not be making purchases worth thousands of dollars but I am still a customer. It gives off a pretentious vibe. There are so many other locations with kind, helpful employees. Don't go here. The only reason I ever go here is because it's pretty much the only music store I know of that's close enough to home. The staff is snotty, unwelcoming, and rude (minus 3 of them), shipments/repairs/replacements take forever to arrive and they never call or call back to keep you informed. I swear to God I sent a keyboard for replacement and it sat in the store for literally 3 months before they sent for a replacement and when it got back they said I wasn't informed because "I never called the store to ask". I also remember asking if they had any guitar electronics repair books and the guy said (word for word), "well that's a stupid question". If you're specifically a guitarist, Guitar Boutique in Whitby is great! If you need other instruments, the Peterborough and Pickering Long & McQuades are awesome! I only ever have trouble at the Oshawa location and it is EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I go in there. read more

Fantastic store and staff. Very helpful and have saved me a ton of money on repairs. The music school upstairs is also fantastic. I love that I can just play with the instruments and test them out on my own for as long as I like but if I need help or have questions the staff are great and very knowledgeable. read more

I'm a frequent customer and I've found the majority of their staff to be very snotty and have not much time of day for most people. Feels like they're talking down on people. They're all very knowledgeable, but it's hard to deal with when you have a question to ask or want to purchase something and they treat you like crap. read more
