Our guide was a delightful young woman attending school in Tucson and studying nuclear medicine, which we thought was incredibly impressive. I have unfortunately forgotten her name, but she was absolutely wonderful, and we really enjoyed talking with her throughout the ride. The trail was easy, relaxing, and perfect for simply enjoying the scenery. We rode mostly through the beautiful pine trees and even passed alongside a small lake where geese were peacefully paddling around. The entire ride lasted about an hour and a half, which felt like the perfect amount of time. Both of our horses had such sweet personalities and were incredibly well behaved, making the experience comfortable and enjoyable from beginning to end. We also met the owner while checking in, and she has the cutest little store. Be sure to arrive early so you have time for a little impulse shopping before your ride! Porter Mountain Stables gave us such a memorable Pinetop experience. Remember to tip your guide, take lots of pictures, and enjoy every minute of your ride through the pines!

The accommodation included comfortable beds in two bedrooms with two bathrooms as well as a fully stocked kitchen. The location also includes a restaurant, a fitness center, a game room and a kids playground. During our stay, we took advantage of the location to take trips to Payson, Petrified Forest National Park, Show Low and Winslow. We used the wonderful pool and hot tub after our daily trips. As the class ended I was feeling increasing ill, and by the time I loaded my truck with my entire BBQ kitchen, I vomited several times before leaving. I was recently prescribed a glp from my provider for sleep apnea, and while I had the occasional bout of nausea and occasional vomiting, this was different. Do you know the feeling where it takes too much energy to lift your head, and you just want to curl into the fetal position and die?...yeah that was me when I arrived at the front desk. I had not eaten all day and was dry heaving, as there was nothing in my stomach but the little water I was drinking to prevent dehydration. Initially, the front desk agent was very helpful, she offered to let me sit in the lobby as she processed the reservation. I explained that I had the chills, and would need to go outside. She requested to run a credit card for $250 deposit, and I explained that it was on Google Pay on my phone and handed it to her. She seemed dumbfounded and said she did not believe they took Google pay..she wanted a card number exp. date, cvc code, etc...which my wallet Google wallet does not provide for obvious reasons. Meanwhile I got sick again in the trash can outside the hotel, and begged her to hurry and figure it out. By now, she had called a maintenance man for back up, to whom she asked "...do we take Google Pay?" (Yes, she asked the guy who drives a golf cart around the propery about accepted payment methods). to which he just shrugged his shoulders. At this point I was desperate, and I retrieved my business phone to see if I could obtain the bed Id paid for. No luck...as I was bent over the trash can outside, the maintenace man returned and told me that I was being asked to leave the property immediately, or he woukd call the police. Dumbfounded, I asked him why and he responded "we don't want you making a scene in front of our customers, (there were none in the fifteen minute exchange) and my general manager, was afraid I would be sick in our room." "So, leave the property NOW or I'll call the police and they will be here VERY fast." When I called the next day and spoke with the General Manager Cindy, she explained it was actually the assistant g.m. Krystal Kruze who oredered me off the property from her phone, presumably at home. On a brief converstation with them on conference, the next morning they again said they do not accept Goole Pay for the $250 deposit, (unlike virtually every other retail merchant in America with a modern card verifier) I said "...really? Then how is it that my Paypal account was attepted a charge from your hotel for $250 last night at 6 pm??" There was a pause, and Cindy replied "It was declined" "But, you just told me that you dont have the capacity or inclination to accept the payment method in the previous sentence? At this point I requested her Supervisors contact information, to which Cindy declined to furnish either a name or phone number for her supervisor. A general manager refusing to furnish corporate contact or escalation information to hide a guest complaint is a serious breach of standard hospitality protocol and ettiquette.

I was referred to this place from a friend and was extremely impressed. The cabins are huge, we stayed in the Overlook, it was 3500 sq.ft. It had everything including a private hot tub looking over the valley. There is a pond and river right on the ranch. My kids loved fishing and hiking. We even saw elk strolling across the mountain. I was also pleased because you felt like you were in the middle of no where, truly on vacation, yet you are only a short 7 mile trip in to town. We went in to Eager and had dinner a few times, grabbed snacks at the store and even took a night drive for ice cream. It is also very close to the Sunrise ski resort. If you want to get away, I highly recommend this place! The cabins are large enough for multiple families or very large families. However they also have smaller cabins too. Rock Art Ranch is way out in the country, on a dirt road between Winslow and Holbrook, Arizona, The dust from the road completely covered our car before we got to the ranch, and we washed the car the next day in Winslow. It was May, and we encountered quite a few cattle and calves on the way to the ranch and back. It is actually a 5000-acre working ranch, and we had to make reservations and pay for the tour with cash. The owners were real cowboys, and they escorted us on the tour personally. Three areas of interest were featured on the tour. The first was the ranch complex, which included a large converted barn, some old equipment including wagons and camp gear, a preserved bunkhouse, and a memorial rock garden outside the barn. The second was an area out in the wilds that included some Native American hogans and an archaeological site of a 14th-Century Puebloan village. The third was the area the ranch is famous for: petroglyphs. They are found in a canyon on the Chevelon Creek, a tributary of the Little Colorado River. A thousand feet away you wouldn't notice the canyon, but once you are there it's a treat. The Chevelon Canyon cuts into the plain for a depth of several hundred feet. There is a picnic area on a platform house that overlooks the canyon, with plenty of shade. It's a steep descent to the creek, down steps and a path cut into the sandstone walls. On those walls are thousands of carvings made by men and women that go back thousands of years, and that is what the Rock Art Ranch is really all about. Take a lunch, you can't buy one at the ranch. Take plenty of water, the 100-degree heat will get to you, especially when you realize you have to climb back up to the platform shelter. Don't worry about restrooms, there is a charming, clean outhouse up the hill from the platform shelter. Do have a look at other sites on the web to see what you're getting into. There is so much to explore, we'll go back some day and pick up where we left off.

One phone call with a scant 2 hour notice, brought the MSCC team to our door with a complete, top quality catering for 40 guests that was raved about all evening. I wish I could give them 10 stars!
