Lane from Fidelity Home Inspections did a thorough and great job doing the home inspection for our house which is coming up on its one-year anniversary. He went into great detail explaining the results shown on the report that he produced as a result of the home inspection. I used that same exact report and emailed it to our builder's warranty department. Builder immediately started scheduling visits to fix the issues on the inspection report the following day. Highly recommend Fidelity Home Inspection, LLC. 20 Feb 2026: Another job well done by Fidelity Home Inspections. This time, I had Michael Street come and inspect my roof. I had (redacted) Home Roofing come by last week for a roof inspection and a quote. After 4 hours of convincing (torture), that roofing company was able get me to sign a contract for a new $49k roof. After some research on (redacted) home roofing, I canceled the contract the following day, but that experience left us shook. The inspection that Michael did was money well spent, and then some. Gave me the peace of mind that I did the right thing canceling that contract for a $49k unnecessary roof replacement, and he also offered some great advice regarding the settling of our home, foundation, and drainage.

We were referred to the copy by our realtor and very happy with the service. Michael Street was our…read moreSan Antonio home inspector and he was very thorough. His report kept us from making a $80k mistake. If you want the best home inspection, ask for Michael.

This review is long overdue -- Paul Grew from Good Guys Home Inspection inspected my home back in…read morelate February 2025, and I'm still incredibly grateful for the service he provided. First, major kudos to Good Guys for their fair pricing. In a market where some inspectors charge $500 or more, their rates were refreshingly reasonable without sacrificing quality. This was my second home-buying experience, and I can confidently say my inspector from 2017 doesn't even come close to how awesome Paul was. The difference in quality, communication, and professionalism was night and day. Paul truly set a new standard for what a home inspection should be. As an active duty military member buying a new build remotely, I needed someone reliable, detail-oriented, and communicative -- and Paul checked every box. He's also prior military, and it shows. His professionalism, precision, and clear communication reflected the kind of discipline and care that comes from that background. From the start, Paul was personable and responsive. I actually called around during the Christmas holiday week, and he was one of the few who picked up the phone. He patiently answered all my questions, giving me genuine peace of mind without any salesy pressure or false promises. The home ended up needing three re-inspections before closing, and Paul never once rushed the process. He worked hand-in-hand with my realtor to make sure the builder addressed every single issue -- we were able to firmly delay closing until everything was properly resolved. His attention to detail was phenomenal. Though the report had a number of findings, the ones that stood out to me were nails protruding from the roof, gaps in the flooring, and a major gap in the roof fascia that would've easily let critters into the attic. I never would've caught those things on my own. If you're in the military or just want an honest, thorough inspector who truly advocates for you, I can't recommend Paul Grew enough. Even months later, I'm still thankful for how smooth and supported he made this process feel.

He has a degree in electrical engineering, the knowledge and know how from years of working with his Grandpa and family from his whole life working in this industry!! He came to the property we are purchasing and inspected the barn, garage, casita, pool, and main house. He even went under the crawl space to check things under the house!! (I could NOT do that...spiders, snakes, no thank you!) He even did the termite inspection for the VA loan loan. Dale was very easy to talk to, like an old friend. He walked us room by room, building by building and showed us every single issue he felt, with his years of expertise and knowledge, were an issue of the house and land we are purchasing. The man spends his time, looking in every space to make sure we know what we are buying! The man was so very through and spent pretty much most of the day at the property to make sure he checked everything twice! The cost was the BEST in the area. I compared several companies and just felt his was the best value for what we would get. You will not regret using Dale for your home inspection!

After the initial inspection, a City of San Marcos inspector inspected the home and found that there was a problem with the trusses. A structural engineer had to inspect afterwards to certify that the repairs were corrected. This was not discovered during the Lange open wall inspection. 2. I felt that the support upright, which appeared to be a load bearing post, was inadequate on one corner of the home. It was simply some 2x4's. This was at the time brought to the attention of the inspector, who related there didn't seem to be any concern. I had no other like-models being built to compare the upright posts to. When I later found the same model in the framing stage, I noted that the post that seemed inadequate in my build, was substantially beefed up in this new build. I contacted Lange and asked them to advise me where I could go to get an opinion. A repair at that stage would have been easy to have corrected. Instead of advising me of the simple question that I asked, I just got the simple CYA response: - My eye didn't pick that up that day (bowing boards) - Whether that is proper load bearing, we don't have the papers and I'm not an engineer I just go by what is seen on the day of installation We didn't email the inspection company in order to complain about the inspection, we emailed and directly asked: "where you would you go to get this question resolved quickly? If this were your home, what would you do?" I was hoping to get a structural engineer referral. Time was of the essence and I didn't appreciate the inspector trying to cover himself, rather than giving my husband the answer he sought. To our surprise, the builder agreed with us and corrected the apparent defect. When we told the inspector the builder agreed with us, he corrected his report. At first, he wouldn't. We are getting a different inspection company for the next phase inspection.
