We were impressed with our first time here, why not come again? This time I opted for the Denver Omelette. And, thankfully, had enough sense (I was starving) to stop and take a photo - but, not before adding some Tapatio. It was hot, it was STUFFED with big chunks of ham, onions and peppers and it was all VERY good! The hash browns were on point as well; crispy, tender and a lot of 'em. Service, again, was top-drawer. The new waitress (she said it was her first day) was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was like the last time ... it's a saloon! Whattayagonnado?? So, yeah, Acorn is quickly becoming our "go to." The other, local places that decide to only be open a couple days a week are sorely (going to be) missing out.

I tipped 100% ($50) because I've been a bartender and she provided the excellent kind of service that earned recognition. She even stayed open late to accommodate the large group of people who walked in with us. Plus, acts of kindness always come back to you!! Patrons were hilarious. Mostly very friendly people with good spirits and positive attitudes, people playing pool on the tables in back, lots of laughter up front, one chick who was too offended by PDAs, and one still crying over a 30 yr old fling. So a really perfect mix for a cute little bar in a small town. Not sure when we'll be back in town but I'd definitely come back here when we are.

While I waited, I noticed how clean, bright and comfortable both the dining room and "pub" were. Most bar areas are dark and somewhat dingy. Not here. Looks like a great place for a Happy Hour and appetizers. I ordered the Ruben Panini (labeled "Shamrock Stack" on their menu). It comes with a variety of sides; I chose the garlic fries with garlic aioli. Upon arriving home (a 40 minute drive), the fries were, of course, cold. A quick toast in the countertop oven took care of that. The sandwich, itself, was good - thin slices of corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese and dressing on marble rye. Again, a good sandwich. The garlic fries (after toasting) had more garlic aroma than flavor. And the aioli was more mayonnaise-heavy than expected. Prices are a little high, considering it was a lunch, rather than dinner meal. However, I'd easily give Buck 25 another go at dining in next time. Their burgers and breakfast options look very appealing.

We stopped by for lunch today, giving this small-town bar a second chance after a previous…read moredisappointing visit. Unfortunately, the experience was even worse this time. When we arrived, we asked if there was patio seating. The owner rudley told us we could sit outside, but that she didn't have time to deal with serving us on the patio and that we would need to come back inside to place our order and pick up our food ourselves. After deciding what we wanted, we returned inside to order and waited quite a while without being acknowledged. Another customer eventually spoke with the cook, who nicely told us someone would be out shortly. During that time, we watched the owner deliberately ignore us while continuing to assist other customers. When another couple entered, the owner greeted them and explained there would be a wait. We simply asked how long the wait might be for us. Her response was shockingly rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Rather than offering an estimate or even a polite acknowledgment, she bluntly told us that we could leave and go to the next town. The tone and manner in which she said it made it clear that our business was neither wanted nor appreciated. We later confirmed that this person was the owner. Based on our two visits, it felt as though customers who aren't locals are treated as an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. In all our years of dining out, it is rare to encounter someone so openly discourteous to paying customers. We left without ordering and will not be returning. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, this business fell far short of even basic courtesy. The owner's behavior was not just unfriendly, it was exceptionally rude and left us feeling unwelcome from start to finish.
