It's only temporary, but I received more help in that day, during any other inpatient services. They gave me help to figure out what's wrong, gave me tons of resources, and were warm and caring. You talk to a social worker, psychologist, and doctor. This service is a safe place for those feeling suicidal and mentally unsound. I think there are 15 beds, but there were 5 people total while I was there. It's completely free. I'm truly grateful for this experience, and appreciate the staff. Thank you, team.

I also wanted to schedule an appointment with Sara White, who is also at Creative Life Counseling. I didn't hear back from them for a few days, so I called and left a brief message asking them to please return my call. The receptionist called me back and proceeded to tell me that I could not make an appointment with two people at their practice because they would be "competing for my business." In my opinion therapists shouldn't treat patients as customers, they should treat them as people they genuinely want to help. They shouldn't compete for a patient, they should do what they think is best for the patient even when what's best for them is going to a different therapist. I continued to ask the receptionist questions about this because I found this odd, and then all of a sudden the receptionist became abrasive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. She cancelled the appointment I had with Lisa Croudy, told me to go somewhere else for my therapy, and hung up on me. I am utterly and completely appalled and disgusted with the receptionist's behavior. To speak to someone seeking mental health counseling like that is incredibly dangerous. And furthermore, how do you expect to gain new clients when you have someone like that taking your appointments? If you're so concerned with getting "business," that is the completely opposite way to go about it. I am thoroughly disgusted with this practice. I do not recommend anyone even attempt to seek counseling from them if this is the kind of "business" they run. I come from the mindset that one should never treat someone with that much disrespect, especially when they are reaching out for help.

I told the receptionist the reason for my visit, which included bloodwork. I was unaware that I needed to fast before this visit and was not given instructions to do so. Dr. Dinh told me I could either reschedule, or go ahead with the lab work knowing that the results could be inaccurate. Why would I want inaccurate lab results? Dr. Dinh had a very condescending tone when I asked him questions about my health. The visit was a waste of time. Gave this practice two stars (instead of one) because I do like the nurse practitioner there, Lisa Western. She is fantastic - professional and warm.

I have always received same day or next day appointments for any non-routine medical need. All visits have started on time and I've never felt rushed. His office staff are polished, professional, and attentive. I greatly appreciate that Dr. Gay's office has an on-site lab (massive time saver). I also appreciate the patient portal where you can make appointments, view your lab results, view your prescriptions, ask questions, etc. On two separate occasions, Dr. Gay needed to refer me to a specialist. Both times he pulled out his phone and called the specialist's office right then. Not only was I floored that he personally made the call, but he also arranged appointments for that day! One of the occasions was more urgent and Dr. Gay and the specialist communicated back and forth several times before I was admitted to the hospital. We had a very concerning experience with Summit Counseling while our minor child was receiving…read moretherapy services. As parents who still retain our parental rights, we attempted to participate appropriately in our child's care and treatment planning. However, communication with us as legal parents was refused even in a limited capacity allowed under Utah law. This made it extremely difficult to stay informed about our child's therapeutic progress. We were also informed that therapy sessions billed under our child's Medicaid coverage focused on concerns raised by the placement caregiver rather than our child's own treatment goals. Our child had expressed reunification as an important goal, yet that goal was not reflected in therapy direction. Parents should expect therapy providers working with minors to remain neutral, patient-centered, and willing to communicate appropriately with legal parents unless a court specifically restricts that involvement. That was not our experience. We are sharing this so other families understand the importance of asking how parental participation is handled when a child is in placement and receiving counseling services.

My son has been without his medication for two weeks and always an excuse for poor communication and poorly run organization. Even my pharmacy acknowledged zero response after several attempts. A provider leaves and makes promises to refill meds until they find a replacement with zero response and excuses from a receptionist that has no idea what is going on. Your child gets the whiplash from this poorly run behavioral institution! Any pediatrician can manage better than this place! What an embarrassment! Not even a real psychiatrist to manage things!
