I struggled to find accommodation in Padstow - most places were either fully booked or ridiculously expensive. Therefore, I snapped up the London Inn when I found two rooms for £125 - one double and one twin. I was told on the telephone that this was the family room with both rooms sharing an interconnecting bathroom. However, on arrival we found that the double had the ensuite shower room, the twin was down the corridor with the chefs living accommodation in between, and the loo was separate from both rooms! A very strange set up and definitely as far from a 'Family room' as I could imagine! It wasn't too bad for us (four adults) but I'm not sure what an actual family would have made of it.
The twin room was fairly small, so much so you couldn't open the door properly as one of the beds was in the way. It did have a tele and a sink though.
The double room didn't lock properly, the tele was missing and the blind was broken! But then again, I guess you get what you pay for and I didn't have a bad nights sleep here - I thought it was going to be noisy, the rooms being directly over the bar, but after 10.30pm it was actually fairly quiet.
The pub itself was quite nice - old fashioned and cosy. Not sure about the clientele - it was full of drunken skin heads on the night we stayed!!
The breakfast was pretty good though, and certainly large. They were also very accommodating for our fussiness! The dinner menu looked good too although we didn't try anything on this occasion.
