I purchased the "Standard $65 Get Well" bouquet. Online order through the website was great! Very simple step by step, however very disappointed in the over all arrangement. In my opinion, what I purchased looked more like a $17.99 bundle from the grocery store instead of this $81 arraignment from Lompoc Valley Florist. I use to love this place, but not anymore. I ordered flowers for my Mom for May 1st. I went to the store and picked out what I wanted and added an angel figurine to go with it. The total cost was 42.00. A little pricey but my mom is worth it. When the flowers were delivered they were already dying and the arangment was horrible. This was not what I picked out. I sent an email to the store twice and I have not heard back. I was going to use this store for my wedding comming up in October but I will go somewhere else now since I know how poor service they have. I still haven't heard back from this company. I ordered a standing spray for a memorial service. I asked for white and pink. When I arrived to the church, the delivery person was leaving and I could not catch her. The spray had very little pink and had purples etc. It was for a baby girl. Worse than the wrong colors were that the flyers were already dying before the service started. My husband and I recently ordered a Mother's Day arrangement to be sent to my mother-in-law who lives in town. We were surprised to learn on Sunday evening that she never received it. On Monday, my husband called twice and there was no answer. I originally called LVF because I wanted to send a cheery balloon to someone but knew I would have to order some flowers too. I ordered the minimum flower arrangement they had and added a balloon ($7). The flowers were delivered timely but they arrived with NO BALLOON. Remember, the reason I gave them my business was for the balloon. They called me approx 2 hours after they had delivered the arrangement to let me know they were still looking for the balloon (smiley face) that i had requested. They were calling to ask if I minded them using a different design. I asked them why would they deliver the flowers AND THEN ask about the balloon. They were going to deliver the balloon separate. Piece-meal my order, no thank you!! I requested the balloon refund and also requested a credit for the delivery charge ($8.95 i believe). Anna said they could not do thay as they had delivered the flowers but i told her i wanted to be compensated, some how, for the screw up. She said she would have Connie (owner) call me. Connie called me later and refused to refund delivery charge as they had done the (incorrect) delivery. I expressed my frustrations and how i was reluctant to use them as I always hear horror stories. She argued back with me. Not professional. The 8.95 delivery charge has lost you a customer, caused me to tell my family in Lompoc about the bad business, and a poor Yelp review. Not worth the 8.95. read more

I can't say enough good things about this floral shop. I found out that my lady LOVES sunflowers. It is currently the end of March, so they are actually really hard to get come to find out. Not realizing this, I placed an order online with Lompoc Valley Florist at 10 pm at night. I wanted next day delivery because I needed to make a statement to her now, not in a few days. I like everything to be perfect, so I called in the morning to confirm my order with a real person. She informed me she did not have any sunflowers. My heart dropped and I wasn't interested in any of her other arrangements. I said I was considering cancelling my order, but would call her back. I began placing an order with another online flower website (which turns out didn't have any sunflowers either, despite me asking several times if they did) when I got a call from LVF saying they did find three sunflowers. I was ecstatic. I can imagine this wasn't an easy task and I am SO very grateful for them doing that. LVF has become my go-to floral shop when I need flowers for the Lompoc area. With tax and shipping my order was actually half the price of the other online website. Which was almost $90 for the same basic arrangement. I know that was crazy to think I could pay that for a simple bouquet, but I was desperate and plead insanity. Also, in my frantic search for sunflowers, I called all the other floral shops in Lompoc and none of them actually answered their phones. In March I called Lompoc Valley Florist and explained I was out of town and wanted to order something for my husband's birthday. He was located on Vandenberg's base. The representative explained that there was a $12.99 delivery fee since it was to the gate of the base which I thought was a little high. I chalked up to that they were putting together a custom basket for me that sounded really nice. I requested 2 carnations, some cheese, salami and beef jerky with a balloon. The ballon was $6.50 which was really expense, I just purchased Happy Birthday balloons from Party City for $1 each - filled. The representative told me they could put the items in a metal bucket. The total was $83.47 which was high but I thought it was worth it to surprise my husband. The florist representative told me that they would call my husband the next day between noon and 1pm to coordinate meeting at the gate. At 2pm there was still no call so I had to call them and they had to call the driver. It took some calling back and forth to get the driver to go there before my husband left for the day. I finally had to tell my husband I had a special delivery and had to meet them at the gate. My husband called me from the gate and told me there was a florist van but the guy was just sitting there (I did tell the florist, the color and type of car my husband was driving). I told my husband to go to him and tell him that he was supposed to get something (so much for the surprise). That evening, my husband ate some of the salami and felt sick. I told him to check the expiration in which he found that it was expired and one of the cheeses was expiring in one week (usually speciality cheeses have a longer expiration). He told me he didn't want to say anything because I went to so much trouble to do this for his birthday. I asked if there was beef jerky and he said no. I called the florist to let them know what happened. They didn't know what to do so I told them since it wasn't his fault the food was expired they should stop where he was staying that evening to get the food items (including the wrapping of the expired meat so they could see). With some hesitation they finally agreed and my husband told me that they would call him the following day to coordinate a time to drop off the replacements. He told them to stop by in the morning since he was unavailable in the afternoon. The following day, he did not receive a call. I called to find out what was wrong and spoke with the owner. She told me that my husband was going to call. I explained that he was told they would call him to coordinate (how would my husband know when they would go the the store to get replacements). Either way, I told her she did have both of his numbers so part of customer service is being proactive and reaching out to the client. At this point since my husband had to leave the base for the rest of the weekend I told her that we just wanted a refund. She started to blame us for the grocery store (she just went to Albertson's not a speciality store) selling expired food and having to go back. As a business, I believe she should be checking food expiration dates (I do this when I'm grocery shopping). The owner told me that she would only gave me a credit of $26.94 because he did eat one meat (it was the one that made him sick) and he kept one cheese (we never did receive the beef jerky). She didn't take in consideration the work it took to get this delivered in the first place to my husband. When he got home I saw the metal bucket was 5 inches. They charged $83.47 for 2 carnations, some baby breath, balloon, the metal container, 2 cheeses and 2 salami packages (no beef jerky). Even if the food was not spoiled, I won't use them again. It was too much time calling to make sure they got the item to my husband and then being lectured from the owner how it was our fault my husband didn't call for the replacement (my husband was told they would call him), the food expiration dates and it was expensive for what he got. read more

I used to really enjoy this flower shop. I would go in almost every Friday for the BYOV $15 deal. One Friday, I visited the shop and purchased six latex balloons for my husband's birthday. Less than 24 hours later all but one balloon was lying on the floor. I called the shop to express my disappointment and asked if I could have a 50% refund. I was told that the balloons only last 12 to 24 hours. I would have liked to have known that before I bought the balloons. I've bought flowers from these folks before but will never go there again. I suspect it has more to do with the two people I dealt with which was not a pleasant experience. Someone ordered flowers for me and asked that they be delivered to my business. They came out at 3:30pm and went to one of our doors that we always keep locked. When there was no answer the flowers were just left at the door? We have a large parking lot just on the other side that not only has small people doors but huge roll up doors that were totally open? So the delivery guy did not try very hard to deliver the flowers and we were there all day. It was not till 10am the next morning that they actually call me and ask if I ever got my flowers and the only reason they called is because the person that sent them asked me if I got them and my answer was "no" : ( The flowers are somewhat wilted and I assume it's because they say outside all afternoon. I understand that things happen but being a business owner I also understand it's not what happens but the way that you handle the issue. These folks basically wanted to take little to no responsibility for what happened. No "I'm really sorry" they just wanted to justify why. If they had been sorry or just offered to replace the flowers I would feel totally different. So over a $40 order they have lost a customer not only in me personally but our business and family will never use them again. Customer service matters, especially when there are issues.
