Overall the store has less variety & selection than a regular store but serves your basic need's.

Because I always go here after work and it closes early (i think it's opening hours reflect the surrounding office buildings), things start getting reduced at about 5 and I finish at 5 so always grab a bargain. I picked up half a swede, a small bag of new potatoes and a cauliflower all for the princely sum of 90p! They didn't have any vegan butter which I also planned to pick up but I will survive without it...for now. This place recently got self scanners which amuse me because as usual there was a man telling everyone to come use them but only 1 person on the actual checkout and a huge queue. Self scanners annoy me.

The store was clean and the layout was fairly attractive and easy to follow. They have a small selection of essentials from milk to booze, a drip coffee machine and own-brand products from the Co-Op. The selection in terms of brands was also pretty good, they had a selection of Cravendale Milk, which was one of two items which I came to purchase. The prices were fairly reasonable for a convenience store, I remember picking up a single Lipton Iced Tea at a cheaper price than I could find elsewhere in the city (Although stores that have multi-buy offers remain cheaper per unit). Service at the checkout was fast but not too friendly. There weren't any self-checkout machines. 4* - A good selection of goods at reasonable prices in a good location within the city.

Where else, within Glasgow Central, would cater to all my gastric whims, while still allowing me to catch a soon-to-depart train? Were it not for M&S, I would be a writhing, starving mess huddled alone in a corner with an expired travel visa. But thanks to them, I was able to grab a sandwich sampler, some fruit and veg, a drink and dessert (all for well under 10 pounds) and eat my bounty on a train bound for Edinburgh. My food was delicious and reasonably priced, given the food court/train station prices as a benchmark.

I usually visit here when my eye is caught by a fancy malt whisky in the window (cunningly displayed right beside their cash machine, the cads!), or when I'm seeking margaritas mix for what has become a Christmas cocktails tradition with us. The West End would be a poorer place without Peckhams. Long may they continue.

I mean, it can take them a few minutes to realise that you haven't been served, and in serving you some things they can be very slow (don't bother getting butter on your roll in the morning, unless you've got plenty of time on your hands). I really like this friendly little newsagent come corner shop. The family who own it are always…read morefriendly, and it is a real little hub of the community. They do fresh filled rolls and hot drinks as well as all the usual crisps, sweets and juice. They have a good selection of magazines and papers and they also get daily deliveries of nice little McGee's cakes- yum! As well as all this they have a small mini-market bit where you can pick up basic groceries and a small selection of fruit and veg. Over all I would definitely recommend this small independent store.

A handy wee Tesco that is located across the road from a local Co-Op…read more It's a tight squeeze up the back, but it is a fairly well stocked Tesco Express that is ideal for picking up snacks on the move. As mentioned elsewhere, the queue can get pretty long at peak times and it can get a bit rowdy near closing time at the weekends with punters from nearby clubs. I'm glad I don't work 6-10's in here at the weekend.

The coffee is quite cheap and you can get it while you pick up a cheap sandwich as you walk to work. The store is small so you have a limited stock and the goods are more expensive than the daddy Tesco stores but then you are paying for convenience. If you go in the evening you might also be able to grab a random reduced item on the cheap. Though to be honest I have tried and apart from a small tub of potatoes in a curry sauce I have sadly failed.

Dried canned and tinned goods, magazines, beer and wine and a small toiletries section. They have a couple of regular checkouts, normally with just one of them being operated at they have a couple of self service checkouts. The staff are pretty good - they're efficient and friendly and tend to anticipate when the self service checkouts will need attention.
