Lombardo Homes Columbia Missouri Greetings, My name is John T. a retired disabled veteran. This is the final review of my new home built by Lombardo Homes of Missouri. Late last year I closed on the new construction home. Lombardo was flawless throughout the entire process. Seamless from start to finish. I've written a review for each step of this process of designing and building a home from start to finish with Lombardo. Please check out those reviews as it takes you through the entire process; this review being the final one. This was my first time having a home built and it was a very positive experience for me. I highly recommend Lombardo Homes if you are in the market for having a new construction home built. The personnel helping you from start to finish. The final product was absolutely worth every penny as the construction was very solid and completed on time. From the very beginning all of this could not have been accomplished without a supportive sales representative. I had the privilege of working with Brittnay May. She was there for me from start to finish. As mentioned in a previous review(s) the communicate between Brittnay and the Company's management was amazing and she was able to obtain answers for my questions and my needs for this build. Her coordination was on point and advice went above and beyond my expectations. Final walk-through: I worked with Brittnay and Cory. Cory was a great asset to have during this walk-through. He explained and showed me how everything in this modern home worked. He was articulate and made notes and contact numbers for me about anything I would possibly need. Cory was great and I wanted to make sure he was acknowledged in this review. Designing and building a new home does NOT have to be stressful. I thought it would be at first but choosing a good builder and finding that sales rep that is professional and knowledgeable at their job is crucial. I'm so happy that I chose Lombardo Homes for this build, and I cannot say enough about my sidekick, Brittnay May. If you're in the market for a new construction home, you MUST check out Lombardo Homes. Just go to the website and look. You will immediately but attracted to the designs and color schemes. Amazing quality. Hands down an extremely experienced builder that works with local community vendors for products for your build. just closed on a home in Fulton 3/27/26built by Lombardo. egress window has leaked from the start and will not fixed 5/9/26. they said they are waiting long contractors schedule. In the meantime our basement has water in it and had mold on drywall and water line on basement door. they replaced the drywall sprayed bleach on drywall and our carpet which turned it purple. don't close until all is fixed. read more

Think twice before building with Lombardo Homes. When I signed my purchase agreement, I was repeatedly assured that Lombardo deeply values its homeowners and goes above and beyond to ensure satisfaction after the sale. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. The warranty process has been a nightmare--plagued by poor communication, misinformation, and a complete lack of urgency. Getting a simple call back feels like pulling teeth. Four years after moving in, a significant crack appeared in the brick above my garage. An inspection revealed this same issue had occurred in another Lombardo home and was repaired. Yet a week later, I received an email saying my issue was now "outside of warranty." This is clearly a construction-related defect, but Lombardo has shown no interest in making it right now that the sale is complete. With so many reputable builders out there, I strongly recommend choosing someone else. Don't fall for the polished sales pitch only to be left with empty promises, poor service, and no post-sale support. read more

We built a Lombardo home and within 6 months all of the caulk was gone in our kitchen. We asked and they told us that was "normal". When we closed in August, the humidity level was OVER 60% - the highest the thermometer reads. They didn't put a dehumidifier in as they said they did. Our kitchen cabinets are all warped - they were supposed to fix, a guy came out and tried to fix a few - made some worse - then said the doors needed replacing. They never came back to replace the doors. Our flooring in the kitchen is already coming up - so much for "luxury vinyl". We have screw pops EVERYWHERE, the drywall seam in our great room has been fixed multiple times and still is extremely visible. The drywall crew was crap. When we paid for a "luxury" home, this is NOT what I expected. Would NEVER build with Lombardo again. Also, make sure you have a realtor that is always with you during the purchase process. For some reason they can't come to pick out finishes with you which seems odd since others apparently do. So many issues. I would expect luxury homes to be at minimum - able to last 3 years without issues left and right. read more

Don't go with this builder unless you want to be a full-time contractor yourself. Worst company I have ever worked with and will have you sign off on everything but never help you if they did something wrong. read more

Melissa C Mel) at Lombardo replied to my previous review making it seem like Lombardo was truly interested in fixing my problems that were filed well within the warranty period. But don't be fooled!! She did that to only look as if they're trying to help! To date, it has still not been fixed!!! read more

Poor quality homes for the price they charge. Warranty work is, at best, difficult to get approved and completed, at worst impossible to get approved. They don't answer emails or calls and will revoke your access to the warranty website so you cannot report anything. Take your business else where. read more

After I posted this review back in August, I immediately received a phone call form the Lombardo "Vice President of Sales". He was concerned that they got a one star review. He was a lot more concerned about the one star rather than why they got the one star. After a 30 to 45 minute conversation he said he would personally look into my concerns and he himself would visit my home to see the issue first hand. He promised that "HE would make sure every issue was addressed." Well, you guessed it. I never heard from him again. It looks like the "we don't care attitude" and lack of customer service or support starts right at the top with Lombardo. No wonder the rank and file doesn't give a crap either. read more

W.O.W. My wife and I were looking to build a home for our family. We searched for over year until we found a piece of property that was perfect for us. We soon learned that it was owned by Lombardo Homes and they were the builders that came with it. We didn't know what to expect, but we knew we wanted the land so we began the process with our eyes wide open. First we searched around for reviews online and saw a lot of comments from people in Michigan. They are newer to the St. Louis area and there was nothing out there about the local team. It concerned us but we figured we would move ahead and begin our own experience knowing if things felt off we could abandon with little harm done (a small up front deposit). We started the process with a Lombardo rep named Jennifer. It immediately felt like a warm welcome. Her communication skills were spot on. She was detailed, efficient, and fantastic to work with (I'm sorry to say I've since learned she has left Lombardo and is now in the real estate business. It makes sense as she knows everything there is to know about looking for a quality home to build or buy. If you're in the market find Jennifer Nolan!) We have always been told building a home is one of the most difficult things someone can do. The amount of detail and decision making that goes into it is intense. But with Lombardo/Jennifer the path was made so simple it became fun. Half of our home ended up being custom so there was a lot of back and forth negotiating and working with them to get it all right, but the end result made it all worth it as we get ready to see our vision come to life. Right before you are set to break ground on the house Lombardo has you go through a "pre-construction" meeting with your rep and the Construction Coordinator who will be responsible for watching over the build to make sure everything is completed correctly. We had Cecil as our Coordinator and if you're lucky enough to have him too, expect an unbelievable quality house. We found that Cecil puts his heart into building homes, Lombardo is lucky to have him and so were we. We lived not to far away from the new build, so I had an opportunity to go almost daily to monitor the progress and watch the level of detail. One of the things I would do is sometimes bring lunch to the guys who worked in the trades. These were all good guys hand picked by Lombardo and they work hard to build your dreams, I wanted to say thanks and show them my appreciation. What I didn't expect is during these trips as the guys were sharing a pizza was for no less than 3 different groups, unsolicited, tell me that Lombardo is one of the best builders in town. One went as far to say that he had been contracted by multiple builders in St. Louis throughout the years (McB., F&F, Payn., etc) and Lombardo "far and away" has the highest standards in the area. They keep their trades honest by performing post work check lists and having them go back to fix if they find problems. It was refreshing to hear this. And again there were MULTIPLE trades that used the phrase "highest standards" about Lombardo. You have no idea how satisfying it is to hear that when you're making the largest investment you may make in your life. Trying not to ramble... If you're looking to build a home with Lombardo in STL, in our experience you have found yourself in good hands. Cecil, Jennifer, and the team in the background absolutely blew us away with the level of detail and care and we're lucky to have had them watch over our build. Jennifer is gone, but Cecil is the guy on the ground that get's things done and makes sure their correct. Hopefully he stays with Lombardo and does not get picked off by another builder with a high offer. If you're thinking of building ask for him and enjoy the experience. Otherwise enjoy the peace of mind that comes with building with the builder in STL with the "highest standards around". Good luck! read more

I was super excited to start a new build with Lombardo Homes, but that excitement was soon met with disappointment. I visited the Inverness site several times, and even received a home quote more than once. Although the home I was interested in was not on display, anywhere, I still wanted to partner with Lombardo to build it. So what happened? When I first received my "home quote estimate", the home in their system was listed as $330,00 base price although they were advertising it at $336,000. I wanted to upgrade to a different elevation, and was told that would cost $900, so while I've been working on my numbers based on $330,900, I was told that the price would probably be adjusted to $336,900, due to THEIR error in THEIR system. Nonetheless, I'm ready to reserve my lot, something I didn't know cost additional money, and start the process of giving my $30,000 deposit. I now receive my new quote and of course, the $330,000 was adjusted to $336,000 but the elevation was incorrect in THEIR system as well, so instead of it being $900, it was $7,900 - so much for my exciting experience! Due to errors on their part, the increase on the house alone was $13,900, and we haven't even touched/addressed any upgrades. With nervousness, I went to that office willing to pay my deposit, even after reading some of the reviews on yelp regarding experiences people have had. While I didn't experience issues with the home because I never made it that far, and perhaps I dodged a bullet, I'm not sure, but I think it's unfair to display a price, present a price, and then say my bad, it's really $13,900 more - and it is what it is. If you're not going to honor the price that was in your system at the time I was inquiring, and given a physical quote, it would be nice to have gotten something to make me feel as though they cared about what happened. Worst Builder EVER! Run away from Lombardo as quickly as you can. You will thank me later I promise! They just want your money and do not care about their customers or how they treat them. I've never been treated so poorly by a team of people and have built several houses. There is no attention to detail, they will lie to you and be just plain ugly to you. I could go on and on but I will just say every single neighbor we have in Westleigh is greatly disappointed in their house and felt they were treated beyond poorly and way over paid. They are a track home builder with custom builder prices and unprofessional employees.. and that's putting it nicely! Oh and don't close on your house until they actually get it done and get it done correctly. They will push you to close even though your house isn't done so they can get their money and meet their date regardless of the condition of your home- crazy! read more

We signed our contract Jan 31, 2016 and since then we have been treated like we no longer matter. Our complaints have gone un-resolved and we have yet to close but are ready to put our house up for sale as soon as we do. We discovered soon after signing our contract (pre-construction meeting) that there were several features we could have chosen that were never told to us. When asked if we could add them, because construction had not begun, and we were told absolutely not. So there are several features we missed out on that we would have to pay thousands to have done after the fact. We also recently discovered the home they took us to (exterior visit only) and stated would be the exact replica of ours, just different colors, was wrong. They had no model of our home to walk thru and no way to see the colors they have for selection on the homes so you are making decisions blindly. The home we were shown had stone above the dining room windows and we discovered after our stone and brick was completed that ours does not. When questioned, they said our floor plan was different, but when I explained we were told it is the same exact floor plan and model we were then told that the home we saw has higher ceilings and since we did not go with the higher ceilings ours did not include the stonework. Once again we were told in a matter of fact way, like no big deal. When I asked if we could change the shutters, because again we had no way to see these colors on the home prior to the build (no display examples on paper, computer, or in local neighborhoods) they stated it would be $250 plus the cost of the new shutters. Outrageous that after all they did not disclose to us, they now want to upcharge me. I also asked that they not install the standard metal shelves in the walk in closet downstairs, so less work and product, and they said I would be charged. They would actually charge me to not provide a product and service.. My biggest complaints are they don't stop and realize the little details they refrain from taking the time to tell new clients has big affects on the decisions made and the overall outcome of THEIR home and financial responsibility. Also we have been treated like we no longer matter as soon as that contract was signed, it feels like they know we are locked in and there is nothing we can do about it so they don't take the concerns or complaints seriously. They only care about making money and completing the home, there is no customer service. Every experience is different, as with any company, but I hope my feedback can shine a little light on this company and what we had to go thru so no one else has to experience this. I thought I would be excited and celebrating my new home and instead I'm ready to sell as soon as we close.. I hope no one else has to go thru this type of experience when building and I would not choose Lombardo, there are too many other companies to chose in St. Louis that are reputable builders. read more
