I'd say Flux and its multitude of goods is also somewhere in between, mixing pretty and practicality. Considering that the shop space isn't too huge, they've managed to fit countless cute little bits around it, so your eyes are always darting about looking at some other colour or miniature item that catches them. There are some great dinosaur lamps and wine bottle accessories, those little Japanese dolls which look amazingly cute, but I'm not entirely sure what their function is, plus some really pretty jewellery from local designers, lots of greetings cards, colourful glasses and a wee corner of baby clothes.

I placed my order, the online invoicing was prompt and seamless, and gave lots of security reassurances. Postage was not included but was reasonable again. That all happened yesterday, and I received my items today. Really high quality materials. I cannot commend this company enough and will certainly buy from them again. Just wish I lived closer to visit in person!

Shops like Enchantment are becoming fewer and further between, but it's nice that this one still does well. There are little pewter ornaments of delicate garden sprites, elves and fairies lining the shelves of this place, and dangling from the ceiling in abundance. If you're into pixies, healing stones and a touch of magic, then you'll like it. My mum likes ornaments like these and it's a great wee resource not too far from the Royal Mile if you're looking for an impish wee pressie. There is also some Nintendo and Studio Ghibli characters represented, that I can appreciate a little more. They also sell some goods relating to more popular Western animations like Nightmare before Christmas and the ever incredible cult classic, The Moomins. In my heart of hearts I still know this is all tacky commercial tat using up precious Earthly resources, but somehow its kitsch value overwhelms me. The walls are lined with the biggest collection of Hello Kitty and Domukun I have ever seen in my life in such a small place, and the vast majority of stock is tiny. This place is home to everything from Mario figurines and small cuddly toys to Snoopy, Chinese lucky cats and even some mini Dragonball Z figurines. Gifts are pocket sized and ususally around the £5 mark. I love the cute little baby Spiderman guys in here and when I was younger Cutie House would've made me burst with joy. A great gem to take your kids, but you'll enjoy it, too! If I ever find use for an elephant figurine, I will make room for it on my mantelpiece.

Again, this is a shop I avoid when my pocket's empty of dough. All their clothing is really colourful and has flowery girly patterns. About a couple of years ago (and yes, I do remember this), I flirted with the idea of buying this skirt for months upon months. But I was poor, so there. A lot of their clothes are made out of materials like hemp (their shirts are really really soft!). They sell bags out of that material too. The prices are actually not too bad, all things considered. I mean, most of their merchandise costs around 20 pounds, or maybe a bit over. Other stuff they sell: pillow cases and scarves, gloves and earrings. Definitely stop by if you're looking to put some more colour into your wardrobe.
