Zanesfield is a nice little town, with quite a few preserved buildings, but I did not expect a library as stunning as this. Built in 1914, I believe, it is Carnegie-esque and simply exquisite, inside and out. Beautiful details and design. It is sort of half library, half museum, with small history displays, maps, photo albums, a large local history shelf, and a decent selection of other books and periodicals. There's a children's room, Internet access, and a small kitchen downstairs which would make it an interesting event venue. The librarian is very knowledgeable about the library and community, and has written a wonderful walking tour pamphlet. Be sure to pick one up.

Very impressed with the kids section of this library. The first time I visited, I felt that it was…read moreso cut off from the rest of the library, which I didn't like. But this time, I really enjoyed that the section was completely separate, because it feels more free to be kid-like like there, as the other reviewer mentions. Also I was so happy to see the computer terminals in the kids section for searching for books. Kids can actually search by picture, if they can't yet read. So, for example, a kid can click on a picture of the sun, and then see pictures of the fronts of books about the sun. This is pretty awesome, and I have never seen anything like it before. Staff in the children's section were extremely helpful, and we got lots of pretty awesome books. The section is huge with a huge variety. I also enjoyed the adult section, and got a few books for myself too. Bathroom was very clean, and library was quiet.

I come once in awhile; sometimes it's handy, sometimes it actually has stuff Columbus doesn't. They're in an agreement with Plain City and other small towns in the area so that you can reserve stuff from any library and pick up/return at another. I am glad there's a good library in town; I see libraries as vital, even as we go from books to ebooks. For kids and adults, there's nothing like browsing the shelves and reading for hours.

Multiple floors of rows and rows of books. Lots of rooms for various purposes. Plenty of bathrooms on all floors. And also a lot of options like chairs, couches, and benches to sit on. There were gorgeous stairs off the main lobby but also a spacious elevator. The cafe inside was also a nice surprise and the coffee was pretty good! All in all I look forward to visiting again!

Staff seems to hate marginalized people. They misgendered me for 2 years and seem to misgender…read morestaff as well. Ashton pretended to be nice in order to get free stickers off me then would glare and refuse to speak to me afterwards. A staff member admitted they use Hispanic children as translators, but if no child is around they just hang up or don't help the patron. I emailed them kindly twice bringing up concerns just for them to treat me even worse than before. My kids and I would leave crying after interacting with staff because none of us could understand why our local librarians were being so mean to us. I asked for the Hispanic children's books to be put at an appropriate height for the age range of the books and that they be brought out from behind all the resource books because it felt unfair and dehumanizing to have them go all the way to the back of the room. Sending Hispanic people to the back? I also just wanted adult Spanish books to improve my Spanish, but because the director has added things for the adults in kids lives so I figured he'd be excited. Danielle U. seems to like to shove people out of conversations and talk over them. She also had no concerns for a child and instead offered to throw him out for me because he asked me for a ride. I feel she should've checked on the child and not try to kick him out. The staff nor director Gary seem to want to fix the situation or offer any form of clarity as to why they've been treating me along with other patrons so poorly

The leaders are great and we learn many new songs and motions to songs. It's a great learning tool for the children. There are several play areas where the kids can play with toys, digital pads, Melissa and Doug puzzles, Lakeshore and more. There is a section of board games that one can borrow. It's great as they have many newer games to choose from. I love that I can horror a game for up-to 2 weeks. It's a great way to test a game out to see if we like it or not. There are nice family restrooms with changing tables and a large area to bring a stroller if needed.
