I'm not sure what the other 2 reviewers are talking about who gave low ratings. The mandate of this consignment store is to only accept items that are in 'Good' to 'Mint' Condition. They do not accept 'Goodwill' level items. I love their sliding scale of prices. I've missed out on 2 items but keep going back scouting for just the right piece to add to our home. There's a great selection to choose from that challenges your design esthetic. The only reason I've not give 5 stars is I personally feel their delivery price is too high. I believe it should be pro-rated based on Distance. I don't feel right paying the same price for a delivery say to Stoney Creek and beyond when I'm 3 Blocks away. So I wait til the final price to be able to blend delivery price into purchase price yo still feel I got a good deal. The service staff is welcoming and are willing to work with you. #Recommend

I always head upstairs to the second floor where the ends/clearance/sale fabric is. Like most fabricland stores they have quite a selection of interesting knit prints as well as other fabrics here. There are 4 floors in this store but sadly only 2 of them are in use (I think ghosts live in the basement...maybe). While the normal process of their fabric can be pricey it's good quality and if you hold out for a sale it's not so bad. The staff are hard to find here sometimes due to the size of the store but the ones I've come across are friendly and helpful. Always a favourite store of mine to visit when in the area.

I have interacted three times with this store…read more The first time, I walked in and looked around, but the store appeared to be void of any employees, so I left. A couple weeks later, I called them because I thought I had seen something in their store but couldn't remember if it was them. The man who answered just said "Hello", which was confusing, not to mention he sounded like he was in a wind tunnel or driving so it was hard to hear him. I was attempting to inquire about some merchandise and thought he would maybe walk over to the merchandise to clarify the price for me, but it became clear he wouldn't, trying to get answers from him was difficult. He didn't seem to understand what I was asking and he responded in one-word answers. Then I called a few weeks later because I realized I would not be able to visit Hamilton again and I wanted to see if he could ship the merchandise to my home. Again, he answered "hello", not "artiques" or something identifiable, and it took a few minutes for him to acknowledge the merchandise that I was looking for. He then get really upset and said "you keep calling me" (again, I only called once before) "if you're not coming into my store then don't" to which I stopped him, told him I only called once, and that I don't deserve to be talked to that way, that I was just looking to see if I could have the item shipped to my home in the US. He replied aggressively that, no, he wouldn't ship to the US, and then I hung up. It was a needlessly aggressive call, I'm still shocked by his disrespectful response. Disappointing.

The product was of good quality. The owner was a total SOB…read moreI was to get dresser n nightstand delivered next day but he calls and says driver slept in . Next he said he would call to plan delivery for Saturday on Friday night . Didnt. Then Saturday calls and says he can't deliver will have to be monday. I'm upset calls him back says you didn't call Friday night to make delivery plan n I'm going away monday. He then says I'll try and hangs up on me. He calls at 4 Saturday n says just after 5. I think great. But when he gets here I went outside and he says he is angry cause he is semi retired n his driver was ill n he didn't want to be here. Then when taking dresser upstairs he rammed it into wall and made 2 holes I have pictures if anyone wants to see. He then told me to get plaster n putty knife n fix on my own what about painting wtf. He then leaves my home saying I got 1200 dresser and 600 nightstand for whatever. At store he said it was a 600 dresser and 300 nightstand and I got for half price. I should have known when he only accepts cash deals RED FLAG. This guy named Patrick owner of Barton Furniture is an obnoxious conceited arrogant piece of work. Ladies don't go there! Make that anyone!
