Price was not an issue, however, when the staff was continually apologizing for their unprofessionalism, that should've been my first red flag. Drawing blood is not that difficult, however, after six pokes and getting 1/5 of what was ultimately needed, AND blowing through one of my veins (15-day bruising!) they gave up, thank goodness. The staff performed various tests, and in my opinion, they were guessing as much as they were performing properly. I heard many comments between them, on their poor performance, when they didn't think I could hear them. On the second visit, I met the doctor and he was very negative in his approach. Please note I am a very healthy person, with a VERY positive view of dentistry. He never even touched my mouth, other than to point to one tooth. His assistant was taking notes on a computer the entire time, and she had an extremely loud sniffing, wet, runny nose that she kept wiping and not cleaning her hands. After the doctor was done with me, she came face-to-face with me at the desk and was touching everything, including the pen, she was handing me to sign my name. Again, she did not wash her hands, and she had been wiping the snot out of her nose with that same hand for the past 45 minutes. Even though I had told the doctor I had pain in one tooth, he didn't want to schedule me for even a cleaning for a minimum of 2 1/2 months. The assistant's job was to sell me on all of the products and vitamins that they sold, and she wanted me to also take home their $400 2-night sleep test, which I declined. (I think I paid around $1800+ for this mess). I realized upon leaving, that they probably make most of their money off of inciting fear into their patients. However, I am very familiar with dentistry and would rather go to a professional who cares more about my teeth. I wrote a long note to the dentist, and delivered it on the next workday. It had all of my concerns written down, however, the assistant took it, and I'm fairly certain she never handed it to the doctor because I have not heard from them since. It has now been a couple of months. Very sad, because I would've been, happy to refer friends and family, had I had a good experience. WORD TO THE WISE: if you just want to throw your money at a doctor, and never actually be treated, this is the guy. He also has a practice in Gillette, WY.

I called to pay a few weeks later and was told that there would be a late fee. I inquired since there is no due date, a late fee would be hard to determine and the front desk said "Do you want to pay your bill or not". Hands down, Dr. Yeoman IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST SKILLED AND SUPERB DENTIST TO WHOM I HAVE EVER BEEN. I have massive anxiety about any dental procedures starting from childhood ( a disastrous tooth extraction at a fancy dentist in Newport 10 years ago among the more recent of nightmares ) as I was born in Hawaii, and mid 70's dentistry was positively barbaric and painful. Dr. Yeoman was so warm and funny that he put me at ease immediately as did his assistant Alex. During the procedure he was fast, precise, thorough and again, very gentle. So gentle he didn't even need to give me novocaine to fix two chips in my front tooth from gnawing on a ribeye bone. The results are BEAUTIFUL and maybe took 40 minutes. He's a magician. Staff members Alex, Rachel and Brandy were all absolutely terrific and got me in right away when I called to explain the issue. I moved back to Rapid City a little over two years ago. My prior dentist retired so I had to find a…read morenew one. My cousin recommended Dr. Unkenholz though he did not go to him. He said he had been with his dentist for so long he did not feel he should make the change. I was very pleased with my first visit and every subsequent visit to Dr. Unkenholz. I find his hygienists are extremely friendly. I have recommended him to several people since I started going to him. With the Covid pandemic going on at my last check up they were very safety conscious. No patients were allowed in the waiting room. They waved patients in to check in as their hygienist were ready and took them promptly. Everyone wore masks in the office. The hygienist are attentive to your comfort and are gentle. In addition to the TVs on the wall and ceiling in the exam rooms, you will be offered glasses to protect your eyes and a wide variety of flavors to choose from for your teeth polishing. I had seen a couple negative reviews and am surprised to see them. My experiences have always been 5 star.

She immediately had my six year old at ease when she greeted her with a big smile :) She had such patience and compassion that I'd never seen in a dental office before I almost wish we lived in Rapid City full-time so we could visit her again and again! My favorite part is how she took the time to explain everything she was going to do to my daughter before doing it so my daughter had time to process. She also asked my daughter if she had any questions and was super mindful of her experience as a small child being in an unfamiliar dental office. Her exam was completed by Dr. Juhlin and he was just as warm and friendly as Cassandra. It truly was such a seamless experience to be seen by him and I loved the way he provided my daughter with a letter grade so she could understand how great she was doing with her brushing and flossing. An extra special touch is they provide cavity-free kids with a Polaroid photo post visit that they hang on the wall to announce that they are proud members of the "sugar bug club," such a cute concept. There were also fresh cookies, prizes, stickers and the traditional new tooth brush gifted...it was just an impressive send-off to say the least! I didn't get their names but the receptionist who checked us in and the office worker who checked us out were also both kind and friendly. Be aware! Went to place a crown on an existing implant . I have had this done before on another…read moreimplant! They had my insurance info before hand. Before seeing Dr Jensen I was taken to do an xray. I now understand it is an intraoral xray! Asked if it was covered the technician said yes. Finally see Dr Jensen , he states he can't put the crown on and wants me to see another dentist for imaging who is not on my insurance ! Left disappointed and confused because not my first crown for an implant! Go to another Dentist Dr Rice and he can put crown on with no problem. They sent a bill for over $350 for an xray not covered. They could not put crown on and wanted me to go to another dentist before they could do anything! This is just to warn anyone thinking of going to them.

What an awesome staff. Dr.. Stone diagnosed the issue. Made some adjustments and prescribed medication. Unfortunatally he also diagnosed that needed a root canel. The staff made the arrangements to have the procedure done in Rapid City the next day. Not what I was looking for while visiting the Black Hills but ya'll made it a whole lot better.
