I returned a dress here today that I purchased from a location in another state-- apparently, the…read morenotion is a foreign concept of which the cashier "Lisa" has little-to-no experience. What should have been a 3-minute transaction (with ORIGINAL receipt AND tag attached) turned into the groundwork for an epic novel or a bad movie trailer. The cashier, bless her heart, actually thought she was providing enlightenment when she paused and told me, "Although the tag reads 'X', you only paid 'Z', so you are only getting 'Z' back." Duh! Seriously, Einstein? Is this the level of training that this retailer provides to its staff? 1+1=2? I mean, who says THAT to a customer who brings in a RECEIPT? Then, while being hooked on phonics, she's giving non-verbal cues to the staff person next to her by underlining the top of my receipt and flashing it; then an exchange of head nods, a long examination of the receipt, AND to boot, I was asked what business I had for being in state 'X'- and you KNOW I didn't answer. I'm not making this up, folks. Either they are lonely and need friends, or they are spending too much tme watching "CSI". Next, I was expecting someone to break out the luminol! While the clothes are beautiful and of good quality, the See-Jane-Run-meets-CSI dialogue and the constant tag-teaming of the it-takes-a-village staff (if you've ever stepped foot up to the cash register at one of these places, you know what I'm talking about-- think car dealership), are MAJOR reasons why this retailer fails to earn my business.

SO embarrassing. I called this store to see if I could get at least a replacement, and corporate gave a flat out NO, saying they don't return used items. I completely understand that logic if I simply changed my mind, but this is a quality control issue. I spent $80 on pants that I can no longer wear after 3 weeks, and express basically told me "too bad sucker" since they already had my money. They did not care at all that their product was total crap. I'll never shop here again, it's basically the new Old Navy. I'm taking my business to WHBM.

We spent two hours in here and eventually pieced a suit together for my sons first homecoming... see pics. It looks good... it is not greatly maid and still cost over 600 for everything. I feel like it is a one and done suit... maybe two times but it just felt cheaply made for the cost. However he liked it and he looked stylin in it... so we bought it. If it had not been for homecoming we would have left this store. I am a tenacious shopper. I will hunt and dig and fight to find what we need... and that is what is needed to shop here for sure. My son looks good in the suit... he is happy that we were able to find something with only a week to go before the dance and I was glad to be able to be his guide in the process! I went to the BCBG Max Azria store at the Lenox Mall, and I give it a 5+++++ star for their customer service. They made sure I was taken care of from the time I walked in the store til the time I walked out of the store. All the sales associates in the store are really upbeat and helpful. I needed another size in a dress and one of the associates told me she would go to their "off site" storage and see if the size I need is there. I didn't want her to do that since I was not sure whether I wanted the dress. I told her I would come back. Well, the next day I decided i wanted to purchase the dress so I called the store at Lenox and they told me that they already had the dress for me on hold, but under no name, since I didn't leave a name when I left. I was shocked....but yet so pleased. I asked them to hold it until the evening and I will come by. And the dress was on sale, which surprised me even more that they held the dress. Most department stores do not put sale items on hold. When I got to BCBG yesterday evening, the sales associate ran to the back room to get my dress, which was in the back the entire day in case I returned to claim it!!! NOW........that ladies and gentlemen is customer service!!!

I saw the owner talking to another client. I shopped for a bit as I heard them chat, I picked out two dresses, a pair of jeans and a pair of heels. I came to the check out and started trying to engage the teller in conversation. Never in my life have I ever felt as if not only she wasn't interested but also as if it were a chore to be dealing with me. Her attitude was absolutely disgusting. Fast forward to Thursday and I try once again to go to the shop and give a small black owned business some support. There once again is the same lady, and as soon as I walked in I felt extremely unwanted. I was in my normal work hoodie with the Carvana logo. The looks I was given, the tone to her voice and just the over all cold shoulder I received was why I walked out empty handed. I really wish I had been made to feel differently because there were several items I would of bought. I don't know the owner but I don't feel as though she wanted someone who looked like me in her upscale shop.

This Macy's is better organized than the Lenox location and it was known for its quality selection…read more& fantastic sales. The deals were better than Dillard's (which no longer has sale days) or even Nordstrom's Rack. Two months ago, it would have been rated 4 stars.. Parking Park near the Chic Filet side entrance (furniture section) or in the covered deck. Or plan to drive in circles looking for a spot or walk a half a mile from your car. Customer Service IF you can find a cashier, they are usually helpful. Because they're absent, I'm often mistaken for an employee. I can be wearing yoga pants, if I have Macy's merchandise in my hands I will be asked where restrooms are. Expect a ridiculously long wait in the shoe department! Atmosphere The music is awful, the lines are slow, the fitting rooms are hot and dusty & it's hard to find items. One rack had women's suits (plus, regular & petites) with activewear, Xmas sweaters & PJ's! And there are racks of clothes that have been piled up from the fitting room & never returned. Layout Contemporary women's wear (jeans, active wear), shoes, perfume, furniture & menswear are on the 1st floor (mall entrance). Returns are also on the 1st floor. Women's dresses, suits, intimate ware and swimwear are downstairs with the kids' clothes. Kitchenware, bedding, household goods is upstairs. Ladies Fitting Rooms There's one fitting room that's large and well lit (with a long line if there's a sale). The other fitting rooms are the dark and the size of broom closets! Also, the mirrors in the tiny fitting rooms are obstructed by a built-in seat. Sales A month ago there were Last Act sections in every dept. where you could get brand names like Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein for rock bottom prices! Ex. dresses marked down from $180 to $25. Now the racks are few and far between, the discounts aren't as steep & they are final sale. Macys now has a few racks of cheap, off-brand clothes for $13.99 and $21.99. Look out Ross, you've got competition! Returns 90 days on most merchandise, 30 days for Backstage (a cheap area in the basement at Lenox that reminds me more of a knock-off Marshalls). Last Act returns just went from 60 days to FINAL SALE. Macys Card An AMEX which can be used anywhere. Spending = $10 Macy's gift card rewards. Gift cards never expire & if you spend enough they'll mail coupons (exclusions apply). But if you're a minute late on the bill they won't hesitate to call the debt collectors! In short, Macys used to be a less expensive alternative to Nordstroms. But at the rate they're going, I hope they stay open. Macys needs to hire more staff & make all merchandise eligible for a return like every other dept store.
