If you are a solo travel, I would recommend this place, you will be able to meet lot of people during siesta staff and other travelers will hang around in the rooftop. I only wished there was enough people to go on the Nevada tour when I was there. But too bad there were not enough people to rent the van for the trip. Be mindful that when you are searching for this place. You will need to go into a small alley on the left if you are walking up from the main street. It is pretty safe there, but you might miss it, if you aren't paying attention. And if you have heavy luggage you might have a bit trouble walking to this place since there is stone floor though out the Albacin area. ( you cannot take the taxi there, there is not car traffic that will stop right in front of it) So you will need to lift up your luggage every step, if you don't want to break it. But I LOVED this place, giving it four stars because I had to lift my luggage !

There's a rooftop deck that's perfect for laying out, enjoying the sun, sipping on wine. It's fantastic. Their dinner parties are a fun way to get to know the other travelers. The food was surprisingly very good [we were there for Indian curry night], and it's usually ridiculously priced [very low!] since it's aimed at the low budget traveler. Yum! The hostel is in a central location, easy to find. It's just a few steps off of Caladeria Nueva and a short hike up some stairs for the best view of the Alhambra [Mirador San Nicolas] at sunset. Everything else is within walking or bussing distance. There's free luggage storage, free lockers in the rooms, and several computers available for internet access. If the bathroom in your room is in use, there's one downstairs next to the kitchen!

I still can't believe they consider themselves a "2-star hotel," because if this is 2 stars, I've stayed in places that deserve negative numbers. The room was incredibly affordable, chic and clean, and honestly, if I had known how much I'd fall in love with Granada, I would've extended my trip just to stay at Hotel Párraga longer! I stayed in the Deluxe Single Room on the second floor, and though I was a party of one, the room was giving "romanticize being a solo traveler". I instantly needed an impromptu photoshoot as soon as I saw the charming shutter doors and balcony overlooking the alley. There's a cozy common space on the second floor in the center of all the rooms with cozy seats, dining tables, and a tea/coffee setup available anytime. I found the space perfect for reading or working during my downtime. NOTE: Access to the hotel is easy to miss--the entrance is a glass door that requires ringing a buzzer to be let in. When exiting, be careful on your way out-- the glass is SO spotless I nearly walked into it more than once!! Cons: the front desk reception wasn't the warmest, and since it's a boutique hotel, don't expect late checkout options.

It's very centrally located and within very short walking distance of the city center. As for rates, I booked the room for about $100/night the week between Christmas and New Year's. If not for the cleanliness, location, and price, I wouldn't be so generous by giving three stars, for four reasons: 1) The front desk seems to have been taking a full-time siesta. They were rarely there when I needed them, but at least they were helpful when they were. 2) No breakfast included. They don't have a dining area or kitchen so instead they give you a 10% off voucher if you want to eat at the restaurant attached to the hotel, Vitela. Gee, gracias for your appreciation. 3) The room phone didn't work so I couldn't make outside calls to make reservations. In a way, this actually benefited me since I wasn't getting charged for making calls from the front desk, but by the time I could actually hunt down the person working the front desk to make the calls on my behalf, I would have rather just made the calls myself and paid for them. 4) No safe, but fortunately, nothing got stolen.

We arrived before our room was ready, so we were able to leave our luggage and come back. Before we left, the lady at the front desk went over the map with us in great detail, pointing things out, showing us where to catch the bus, and so on. She also showed us to the 'living room' on the fifth floor, which has some couches, tables and magazines. But the highlight is the patio, which has a view over the city facing the Alhambra. There are also a few tables and chairs outside, so it would be a great place to read or catch up on writing in your travel journal, or just to relax. Our room was big, our bed was big, and our bathroom was big. We both had a good sleep that night. We paid in advance when we booked and got 15% off the room. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast started, but they do offer it for 6,95 EUR per person. Like I said, we were only in Granada for one night, but the location seemed great and quite it would be quite easy to get anywhere you wanted to, or there is lots to do in that area as well. The reception staff also ordered a cab for us in the evening to take us to the airport the next morning. The only negative about that was, as she was telling us our options, she said the aiport bus took 45 minutes, and a cab also took 45 minutes. In reality the cab only took 15 minutes, so we could have gotten that little bit of extra sleep in the morning!

We stayed at this location for four nights after reading a recommendation in Rick Steves' book…read more Our experience was generally positive but with some negatives. The location is excellent - just a block off of the main squares in Granada. Everything was close by. We did not have a car, thank goodness, because I have no idea where we could park given this area is restricted to taxis and buses. One downside was the taxi could only get within two blocks of the hotel and on top of that the alleyways that the hotel is on were under construction so you had to carry your luggage through the dirt and rubble (thank goodness it was dry!). One note the construction on weekdays began by 7:30am - nothing like a jackhammer wake-up call. The hotel itself is very charming and the staff super friendly. Upon our arrival Juan did his best to get us into a room that met our needs. The first room #5 was not only pretty small for a "Superior" room but very stuffy. The only window opened onto small inner courtyard where people could eat breakfast. It made that room seem very public. Also since it was winter the AC was turned off so if you wanted to use the wall unit as a fan for fresh air it only pumped out heat! Juan was able to put us into another Superior room #2 which was much bigger and airier though the only two windows were in the interior corridor entrance way. This was better because no one was sitting outside our window though you could hear people come and go and some noise from reception but that was minor. Juan also found us a portable fan. The room had a safe and a mini-fridge. The bathroom while modern needed some work on the tub so it would drain (we asked to get this resolved but it wasn't). Another downside it the room lacked outlets. To make coffee you had to unplug the lamp and to make tea unplug the coffee maker. This was true throughout the room. They had a nice complimentary "tea" each afternoon with fresh pastries, fruits and drinks. Looking at the pictures on-line they have some very nice rooms, for a price. Be warned that the Superior rooms are not that Superior and the descriptions are not super accurate when compared to what they actually are.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. You'll have everything you need for a perfect stay. Breakfast options are delicious and plentiful. A couple of nights we chose to have a light dinner in the dining area/lobby. Valerie took such good care of us both nights. He is a joy! Some helpful hints. Casa 1800 is not a cookie cutter layout. Read the details of each room, especially if you have mobility issues. Not all rooms on the upper floors are accessible by elevator and sizes vary.
