Great coffee!! I like walking in to this local coffee shop instead of supporting the Starbucks down the road. The poor gal working was all by herself, working the counter and drive thru alone on a busy, sunny Sunday. She let us know that our food order would take awhile, which we understood given the situation. She was doing her best, but unfortunately it was not a quick coffee trip. Food probably took 30 minutes or longer. I hope she made a lot of tips that day, she deserves it for having to work alone and did it while staying calm and collected!! read more

Coming from Seattle, we weren't expecting to be impressed by the coffee on our trip. (I'm sorry if that sounds snobby.) But this coffee was great--not just for vacation standards--this was better than some of the spots that we frequent back home. I'm so disappointed to say we came back a year after our first time and didn't have a great experience again. Both visits we had drinks that we couldn't finish, and that took a long wait time for. Hot Coffee was very watered down and iced tasted burnt. Our first visit we had also ordered food which was a pre frozen açaí bowl that was served still completely frozen solid... While staying in Manson, this cafe was within walking distance, and genuinely some of the best environments ever! I'm a barista, so I've become very picky with my coffee, but the espresso and chai were both high quality. Not to mention all of the workers were so kind! They were pretty fast and on it. We were really impressed with this local coffee shop! We wanted to find somewhere to fuel up with breakfast and coffee before a day of wine tastings in the area. Local grounds has plenty of patio and inside seating to accommodate any size. We both had their fall seasonal drinks, the Cinnamon Honey cold brew and the Brown Butter Toffee nut latte, and they were incredible. I ordered the sausage breakfast sandwich, which was on toasted sourdough with a delicious tomato pesto sauce. When we were done, my husband ended up ordering the Alpine Berry lemonade and loved it. Great prices, great vibes, great quality. Ordered a strawberry fields matcha, in which they used strawberry jam, strawberry cold foam, and strawberry chunks. (Could've used more matcha powder, but was delicious regardless.) I also tried their veggie egg bites for only $3.25 which were light and fluffy, and decent for the price and much better than Starbucks. We went for coffee the places was very cute. They had the coffee prices blacked out for Fourth of July weekend. Seemed odd. Muffins were very good. One drink was made as iced mocha instead of frappe. They remade it but just added water tasted off. Regular iced vanilla latte was good. read more

What a great little addition to the downtown Manson area! Stopped in yesterday to visit with a friend of mine over a cup of coffee. I highly recommend! There are a few tables to sit at and there is an outdoor patio area that I'm sure will be used once summer hits again! Don't let the very small pastry case at the front counter fool you. It did have a small selection of goodies but If you are looking for something besides a donut, or a slice of something tasty (like a lemon loaf for example) look for the food menu that sits on the counter and that's how I found the avocado toast. The bread was a little bit tough to bite through but the flavor was really good. The balsamic drizzle made it a little sticky so ask for extra napkins! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'll be back for sure. One suggestion I would have would be to add a condiment type station where the customer could add their own cream and or sugar to their drink. It would also include napkins and silverware. Oh and there is a drive through too! Bonus. Can't wait to go back. read more

Took the morning to go explore a coffee shop. This is a great space with inviting ambiance. Unfortunately that's where the good stops. The coffee was well below average in taste. The employee taking our order was too busy talking to her co workers to bother listening to our order or get it right. Then, after forgetting to make one of our food items, it took over 10 minutes to get anyone working behind the counter to acknowledge that we were standing at the pick up bar waiting for help. Instead the employees tried to hide in plain sight and avoided eye contact at all costs. The food tasted better than the coffee, but not by much. As a small business owner myself, I have an understanding of the challenges but also what you take pride in. It was pretty disappointing to experience such a lack of customer service. If your employees can't approach a customer and say "hi, can I help you?" Or if they can't stop chit chatting with the other employees to listen to the customer as they try to order, that's a problem. Based on other reviews I've read, it doesn't sound like this was an experience unique to us, but rather the norm at this establishment. Based on the lack of response, it also would appear that management and ownership don't care too much, either. To each their own, I suppose, but if anyone asked me about this place, I would encourage them to try anywhere else. read more

This shop is adorable. The gal who took our order was very kind but seemed like she could have used more training. We ordered 5 coffees for us and family members as well as a bag of beans as we like to make espresso at home. I asked if the beans are freshly roasted and the gal assured us they are, however, there is no roasted date on the bag. Also, the bag states the beans are from South America, Ethiopia....Ethiopia is in Africa....Anyway, I would compare the taste of our coffees to Keurig coffee - not great. We ordered a hot vanilla latte, iced white mocha, two iced caramel macchiatos, and a maple almond latte. I tasted each one and none of them were good. read more

Ordered the butte berry acai bowl after they said they weren't able to make a smoothie. The bowl comes out after 10 minutes, completely frozen. The acai was frozen solid, unable to eat. Not fresh, frozen acai. 13$ wasted. Am I supposed to defrost it in the chelan sun? Were cooking instructions required? Unsure why anyone recommended this place. I do not recommend it. read more

Have family in the Chelan, Manson area and was over for "Winterfest," their annual Martin Luther King weekend whupdidoo. Usually stay in Chelan but ended up in Manson instead. Wasn't familiar with coffee places there, so broke out the Yelp app and began my quest. Really good espresso is hard to find so I was expecting the bar to be set fairly low in a small town. Didn't want to go into Chelan and hit the Starbucks (which is anything but good but is at least predictably not horrible). Anyway, came across "Local Grounds," and figured why not. I'll usually order a mocha latte but decided to sweeten it up a bit and went with a mocha breve and as usual "extra hot." Was perusing the pastry display and came across this HUGE, (looks like a chocolate mountain in a wrapper) chocolate muffin thing. Not their name for it but you can't miss it. I live for all things chocolate so ordered one up. The breve was super good and the chocolate mountain...OMG good. Atmosphere is pleasant and clean and the peeps super friendly. As always I check out the restroom, never go back if it's not clean. Super clean. Only down side is now, if I stay in Chelan, I'll have to drive to Manson for my morning fix. Only hiccup was, like EVERY place I get coffee, I order "extra hot," but it seldom is. I think people are afraid to make it too hot cuz some snowflake will take them to court. So if you're in Manson looking for a good cup of whatever you drink, do t miss this place. read more

I honestly wish I could leave a zero star review on multiple occasions being somebody who lives in Chelan and visits. The majority of the coffee shops around here pretty regularly almost every time that I've gone there. It has been a horrible experience. The staff is rude, especially the entitled little Hispanic girl, who constantly works the drive-through window, the food always is different than what is ordered and with somebody with allergies that's very important that it's what they say it is drinks are constantly different than what they were before like one day you order a caramel macchiato, and it will taste like coffee and caramel like it's supposed to and then the next day you order the exact same thing and it taste completely different. There's absolutely no consistency the other day I went in and I ordered one of their rice crispy treats that they have because it's gluten-free and there was parchment paper stuck to the bottom of it from when they called it off the day after that, I tried again and ordered a gluten-free vegan muffin that was listed as mixed berry, and I got it and it was just blueberry, which was what they were listed as their gluten-free and I'm allergic to eggs so I'm pretty sure I got the wrong item which caused an allergic reaction. There's no attention to detail there's no good work ethic. There's two people in there that actually care about their jobs and care about helping people correctly and doing stuff correctly. Everybody else is just rude and you can tell that they don't want to be in customer service, but this is the only job that they can get, I don't recommend this place I would recommend going and spending $14 at the vogue in Chelan for over priced small portion coffee then going to the local grounds because at least their service is good and they get you what they want and they have consistency Their seating area is indoor outdoor. There's no provision for intense weather conditions outside so if it's super hot, you're sitting in direct sunlight, the whole time and indoor it gets very loud and very crowded very quickly. read more

We were excited to see a cute coffee shop within walking distance from our hotel so we tried it on our first morning here. Big mistake. From the minute we were putting in our order, the Hispanic gal taking our order acted annoyed to even have to help us. The credit card screen at checkout asked if we wanted to tip so we went ahead and left one like we typically do. These girls working there deserved $0 tip. It was 2 Hispanic girls, one with tattoos. We did not interact with the other staff in the back. After leaving a tip for them, they left our food sitting on the counter for way too long and we weren't aware since we were outside. They clearly knew it was ours and didn't bother to let us know or kindly bring it out to us. Again, why did we leave a $5 tip? I then had to go searching for our coffees after our food was discovered on the counter. There are 2 cold brews sitting on the counter. I didn't order a cold brew so I went back outside and waited even longer. Then one of the girls comes out with 2 cold brews and says you never picked up your coffees. I didn't even order a cold brew! To top it off, as I was clearing my own table and throwing things away, one of the same gals mentioned above was taking the trash out. I asked if I could put my trash in the bag as she was about to tie it off. She wouldn't even look at me and barely mumbled an annoyed 'mm hmm' when I had said thank you. Bottom line, whoever the owner is needs to hire better staff if they want to keep this cute coffee shop open. Its one thing to have a good ambiance but it's much more important to have kind, respectful and helpful staff!!! read more
