Two other dentists were pessimistic about their ability to fix it with bonding, without substantial removal of tooth structure. As I am blessed with overall healthy and pretty teeth, I resigned myself to just live with it. While it was barely noticeable to others, it was a substantial source of frustrating, near-constant physical discomfort for me. After moving to San Antonio, I wondered if this practice could help me out. Dr. Beckel saw me for what I assumed would be just a preliminary consultation, and he convinced me to let him fix it right then and there! I got the sense he could tell it had really been bugging me a while, and wanted to make it better. I felt his communication was good and his bedside manner really excellent. He gave the problem a lot of thought personalized to my specific case, and was optimistic--but realistic--about his ability to fix it with as microscopically minimal enamel removal as possible. After just a few minutes, I got handed a mirror and was stunned to see a tooth that looked genuinely as good as new. It was actually a bit shocking, in a good way. I am truly amazed by the appearance of this bonding. I feel that not only was the natural look of my teeth fully appreciated, but the complex manner in which light moves through the thin edges of my enamel, creating a range of shades, is continued seamlessly throughout the restoration. I was fully expecting to see some kind of subtle boundary or shading difference there, but it actually looks perfect. This must have taken a high level of skill and a profound understanding of dental aesthetics. Of course, the next test will be to see how it holds up long-term. She drove over 30 miles from New Braunfels for a confirmed visit. Insurance is billed based on the date services are rendered, not on coverage status applied retroactively at check-in. The explanation offered makes little sense. Coverage ending that day does not prevent a provider from seeing a patient, nor should it invalidate a scheduled appointment. As an in-network provider, refusing covered services at check-in and tying care to coverage timing rather than date of service raises serious concerns about insurance billing irregularities and eligibility misrepresentation, or at minimum a fundamental misunderstanding of standard insurance billing practices. Compounding the issue, the phone number listed does not reach the office. Calls are routed to an outsourced scheduling call center that is disconnected from the actual front desk and billing staff, leaving no escalation path and no way to reach anyone with authority to resolve the issue. This lack of accountability is especially problematic for a patient with limited English proficiency. When basic principles of insurance billing appear to be ignored, experiences like this suggest one of three things: gross incompetence, a willingness to mislead patients, or potentially improper insurance billing practices. None of those inspire confidence in a medical provider, and prospective patients should be aware of how this practice handles scheduled care.

It is not adjustable for comfort, barely has an armrest, which is poorly positioned, and was clearly purchased by corporate overlords because it was cheapest, not in order to optimize the experience of the patient.
