This review is for the FM station - WIIL - since that is what I listen to. This station has the…read moreguts to play music outside the mainstream. For starters, very few stations can say they have stuck with the same format and formula for over 20 years - and have it work - but WIIL rock can. They stand out from the other corporate owned clones of each other found everywhere on the dial today. The morning show is original and the hosts do a decent job entertaining. Even if the humor gets silly, you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do - and try to have fun with it. Take a listen to WTMX in the morning (or the Drive..etc.), and if you have not vomited from the innocuous prepacked "McBanter" than you should not listen to WIIL. If you appreciate real people - flaws and all on air - and real rock - then 95 WIIL rock is your station.

Since this station is on the left side of the dial, there's no real commercials on here- it truly serves the community with the occasional public service announcement. Plus, they talk about things that other radio stations won't or can't have the time to discuss. The celebrate all the local holidays, and have some in-depth discussions on all things Chicago. If you don't like the music on here, give it an hour, and the DJ will change, and they'll put something else on. This morning, I woke up jamming to Tupac with them. You can pick up this station on a smart speaker world-wide! If you're missing Chicago, or just wanting to learn a little more about the Windy City, this is a great way to tune in and turn on!

Ok I listened to this station WXLC (I don't listen to WKRS) for a long time. This station has played the same 10 songs on repeat sometimes in the same order as the previous day in the mornings, and even in the afternoons. You can almost set your clock to it. I've tried calling in to request something else, and they snub me off. If you want variety, try using the internet. This station is run by people who just don't know music.

Due to spotty WiFi and cell coverage, I'd frequently lose the stream and have to refresh and restart the browser. The new DCB app somehow hangs onto the signal much more consistently. Plus, the Playlist button lets me look up what's currently playing without having to scroll my browser. WDCB has hit it out of the park with this app!
