After some time to reflect on my conversation with the owner, Tatiana, I feel it's my responsibility to share my experience at this establishment so others can make informed choices about where they spend their hard-earned money. I'm writing this to express my disappointment with Body Bar, where I expected the same professionalism and respect I receive from my long-term service providers. As someone who values these relationships--having worked with my hairstylist for 10 years, pet groomer for 8, and nail tech for 6--I was shocked by the unprofessionalism I encountered. Despite being a loyal, communicative client, I was restricted from scheduling future appointments without full pay due to one last-minute cancellation due to a hospitalized family emergency. The owner justified this using distorted examples leaving out vital context. For instance, I rescheduled a prepaid facial a few times due to corresponding event being rescheduled, not in my control, I always gave 5-7+ days' notice--ample time to rebook. Another example involved trying to reschedule a lash fill. I called repeatedly, emailed, and messaged on Instagram, only to find out their phone system was down. I even helped troubleshoot and sent recordings and logs to their IT team--something they initially appreciated. Regarding her mind boggling claim about me being "late," I had always explained I got off work at 12 PM and worked 5 minutes away. When offered 12 PM appointments, I always expressed I would arrive around 12:05, which they said was fine. I later suggested a 12:15 start, which eliminated the issue entirely--I'd been early ever since. Turns out, I'd been transparent all along. What surprised me most was how previous accommodations, once deemed "no problem," were used against me during our conversation today. If anything was inconvenient, they should've been honest instead of weaponizing it later. Them requiring me to book with full payment "regardless of the circumstance" shows a lack of problem solving skills and empathy--especially considering how communicative I have been every single time. Suggesting I rely on walk-ins, possibly wait hours, begging to be seen, instead of just booking my appointments like everyone else, feels dismissive and disrespectful. The most upsetting moment came when the owner made a blatantly false and offensive claim. She said my 2-week lash fill took 45 minutes just to clean "build-up." I don't wear mascara, and I clean my lashes daily with baby shampoo. Even if that werent the case, a lash cleaning could never take 45 minutes. Such a gross exaggeration is unbelievably juvenile. The actual cleaning process took about five minutes. For her to claim otherwise--so confidently--was dishonest, insulting, and deeply unprofessional. The implications that claim also insinuated is insanely offensive. There are many amazing, woman-owned businesses that would never treat a customer this way. If you are still considering, here's some advice: * Giving 5-7 days' notice to reschedule? Not enough. Maybe invest in a crystal ball. * Have a family emergency? Your appointment still takes priority. * Scheduled for 12 PM but told 12:05 is fine? Don't believe it--reschedule for 12:15. * Can't get through because their phone system fails? It'll still count against you--even if you help fix it. * If issues arise, be ready to be gaslit, misrepresented, and met with offensive exaggerations. That's my Body Bar survival guide. When I asked the owner to say one valid example--besides the emergency--that justified this choice, she said: "I honestly can't ." That said it all. To the owner: Prescott is a small town. People here value kindness and understanding. If your first instinct is to punish rather than support a loyal customer, maybe the service industry isn't for you. My only regret is expecting better. I was excited to support a new, woman-owned business where clients could feel safe being themselves. I won't make that mistake again. Thank you for adding to an already difficult month. I just got a facial here, and being a guy it was the first time I have ever had a facial cleansing, it was exhilarating!!! The aesthetician was friendly and kind and explained the process and what to expect during each phase (I got "The Lunch Break).
