The process was smooth and fast. We lowered our payoff date by 5 years and got a rate more than a point lower than what we had been paying (we bought our house last May but it was already worth refinancing for those two reasons and because our mortgage payments are still a bit lower). Also important to note is that when we first started thinking about refinancing in the fall, Ava worked with us but suggested we hold off for a better rate. As soon as the rates dropped, she got in touch and we went from application to closing in just a matter of weeks. Final thought ... our original mortgage lender was pushed on us by the builder of our house. Last month the banker, Rick, reached out in a form letter to tell us rates were dropping and that we should consider refinancing but that he was so busy he couldn't take the time to reach out personally. We showed up to the appointment and were told we would not be meeting with that officer but with another who also wasn't there.
