We were in a vegetarian mood and decided for an veggie overload with the "Mediterran gebratenes Gemüse"(roasted zucchini, eggplants, fennel, mushrooms and radicchio with aioli and tomato/olive dips) and the 40-cm "Vegetariana" pizza with buffalo mozzarella, grilled eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, spinach, etc. For 2 people, we thought it was almost a bit too much, but that might perhaps be the fault of excessive amount of residual oil in both dishes. Aside from the greasiness, I must admit that the pizza is probably one of the best vegetarian pizzas that I've had in Munich. It was topped with so many vegetables of decent portions (i.e. not a couple pieces of mushrooms, peppers, and onions but whole slices of zucchinis and eggplants). Vegetarians shall eat well here.

Hm, maybe we were not schickimicki enough? So we decided to get two pizzas to go instead of eating at the high bar tables. All in all not impressed with the service and friendliness. Damn, I have been away from Bavaria for too long. I am too used to flaky friendly California dining experiences haha. Anyway... the pizza was all right. I wouldn't say it was the best pizza I ever ate. Prices were more than all right considering what we pay for pizza in the US (between € 10 and € 16 per pie that was enough for two people. Some 10 years ago this was the best pizzeria in Munich for me and I used to be a regular. It was a…read moretiny place with just 5-6 tables, always full and baking great pizzas in the wood-fired oven. Then the place expanded, annexing the restaurant around the corner, changed oven, staff and attitude. The quality of the pizza suffered, and everything else too. I come back once a year or so now and every time I'm convinced that there's much better places in Munich if you wanna spend a night out eating Italian. The staff aren't the most friendly and on a weekend night they really try to fill up the place by squeezing customers together. I was also disappointed with my pizza tonight. I ordered a margherita with extra cherry tomatoes. There was basically no cheese on it and there was ONE, no kidding, ONE cherry tomato on it. I guess I even paid 1,29 extra for the extra topping. LOL Still, it's not a catastrophe, and they do have a nice and quiet outdoor space.
