It's that classic restaurant where you go with your mates to eat a burgher and drink beers, in the summer they also have an outside space. If you are after quality maybe this is not exactly the top spot in Florence, but I find Aviazione a great mix of many interesting things (love the Chianina meatballs selection), a crossover between pub and informal restaurant.

To add to it,the music playing was Latin, which was a stark change to the typical Italian music we had gotten used to and the chef came out in dinosaur pajama pants halfway through the meal. We started to have our doubts, but they were eradicated as soon as we got our food. I got the steak with truffle sauce (I forgot what it was in Italian. Ask the waiter) and it was delicious. (It was literally raw on one side, not rare, which we like and have had "Tuscany rare".) We finally gave up and wanted to leave, so we asked for the check which we had to wait over 20 minutes to receive.

While I can't claim it as my very favorite dish of our trip, it was nonetheless tasty and a nice simple meal after a long day of flying! The staff was all friendly, and especially helpful in trying to call us a Taxi, as this restaurant is a bit off the beaten path and a ways from our hotel--felt more local, which was welcome on our trip!
