It is very attractive inside and tables are spaced nicely but the restaurant is small and only has a handful of tables. The moment you walk in you are treated special, like dining in a friends house. You are treated to a welcome glass of Prosecco, a nice touch. The menu reads very well, there are some classics as well as some innovative preparations. We started with a couple of pasta dishes, spaghetti with seafood and mushrooms and ravioli. Both were awesome and a great start to dinner. Next came calamari and other seafood with roasted peppers and another main of a large tender Veal fillet with figs in a port sauce. Both were delicious! I might add that all the food was perfectly prepared and beautifully plated. You can see that in the photos. We were pretty full but wanted to try the Regional classic dessert, roasted peaches filled with chocolate ganache. Yum! We also had a delicious bottle of Barbera d' Alba which was perfect with what we ordered. Even though we had dessert we were also presented with a small flute of custard with raspberries which was outstanding. Great ending to a terrific dinner. All the food was awesome and the service from the Casa Fiore staff was just as good. Always there when you had a question or needed something but never hanging around the table. When in Torino Ristorante Casa Fiore is an excellent choice for a delicious meal. Remember, the restaurant is tiny, be sure to book a reservation in advance.

This is what happened with D'Amblé, whose name means "suddenly", "unexpectedly": during a stroll through San Salvario we passed in front of this place and decided to stop for lunch. Our experience could not have been more pleasant: The ambiance is simple and very curated, the menu is compact with plenty of interesting dishes. For lunch you have a selection of "D'Amblerini": small plates to share, most of them €10 or less. You also have a lunch "formula" of 2 dishes plus 1 glass of wine for €16-18. All the dishes we tried were great: the veal grissinopoli[1] was crunchy on the outside and most and tender on the inside; the octopus and squid salad with potatoes was fresh and tasty; the vegetable flan with toma d'alpeggio fondue on top was perhaps my favorite dish. Here you can find Sicilian "pani ca' meusa" (sandwich with spleen) alongside Tuscan lampredotto sandwiches, plus a variety of spezzatini/ stews with whatever meat is available that day, be it donkey, sheep, or something else. They also make their own porchetta. The inside is very spartan, as this is not a restaurant but more properly a take-away delicatessen where, thanks to the presence of some tables, it is also possible to eat food and drink beers on site. Because they don't really have a restaurant license, the owner explained to me, they cannot have real glasses/plates. Beers are served in plastic cups, food in paper plates with plastic utensils. The offer of the day is written on some blackboards and on paper placemats. Most dishes are decidedly meat-centric, and while I would not necessarily recommend BeC if you're vegetarian, there are several side dishes to chose from, all vegetarian (broccoli rabe, krauts, peas, zucchini, peppers, eggplant). We started with fiori di zucca stuffed with ricotta, which was light and delicate, and the tartare di Fassone, which was nothing short of spectacular: genuinely one of the best tartares I've ever had. It arrives with an array of sauces and spices on top, and the staff mix it tableside, which makes for a great bit of theater as well as incredible flavor. From there we moved on to the tagliolini black & white with shrimp, zucchini, and lemon zest, and the ravioli del plin with a "three roasts" sauce. Both dishes were beautifully executed, with the plin in particular packing great flavor and depth from the sauce. Great service. Reservations recommended.
