I knew when I received the detailed potential customer questionnaire she was my planning soulmate. We were completely won over when she noticed a picture I had planted on my pinterest of a wedding cake from one of her prior weddings. So many vendors ask for the information but never check it; when she brought it up in our first meeting I knew she actually LOOKED at the information I sent her. Celebrations by Amy Bacon was with us for a year leading up to our wedding, and even though we are detailed and active in our planning, having someone to keep us on the right track, who could help us ask the right questions was invaluable. Without them, our wedding never would have been what it turned out to be. She helped us find the most amazing venue that was perfect for our personalities, needs and budget, something that seemed impossible at the time we signed our contract with all of the valley's options. All of the vendors suggested were incredible and completely delivered the best on the wedding day. We cannot even begin to describe her work on our wedding day. She was able to handle all questions and we were not pestered by vendors or guests about anything on our wedding day. Our guests were amazed by everything, how every little detail was covered and how smooth everything went. Any issues, such as additional guests arriving, was taken care of quickly and unnoticeably. There was even a chance of rain and her team had everything covered. The lady in waiting services were incredible, having someone with us before the ceremony to have water, run errands and keep us on track while letting Amy create her magic at the venue was the perfect addition. We each gave the other a surprise during the reception, and she organized them both without the other knowing and presented them in the best way so we were both pleasantly surprised! We are so independent that at first we didn't think we needed a wedding planner, but we are so glad after looking at 30 venues we joined the Celebrations by Amy Bacon family. Our wedding day was more than we could have ever dreamed possible and a day that was probably the most relaxing day of the year so far. Having a non-refundable option, especially within a window of 30 days has to tell you something about the person. The way she works is amazing, she listens to what you want and then makes it happen. She referred great vendors to us and when one vendor didn't work she promptly replaced her. She even gave us a refund for that vendor out of her own pocket. I never had a hard time reaching her and even when things we wanted didn't fit into our budget she made it work. We didn't get to see the finished product until the day of the wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL!! she thought of EVERYTHING! We live in Modesto, CA and Michelle helped us plan our wedding from 700 miles away. Our first meeting was professional as well as comfortable. My self, fiancé, dad and step-mom met with Michelle at Starbucks and she had a folder of information ready for us, we worked through a preliminary budget, helping all parties to understand exactly what the wedding we wanted will cost. I was very upfront about my budget, $10k, and was given the same courtesy from Michelle about their rates. Her rate quoted to us for day of planning was $2k in 2010, but she gave us a discount because the full $2k was not in our budget. Michelle gave us unlimited email contact from the day we met and was available for deliveries the day before and the day of the event. The email contact was very helpful. Each time I got a finalized contract from a caterer, photographer, party rental facility, etc. I would email it to Michelle for review. She helped me to negotiate services into my contract and reminded me of anything I had forgotten to ask. The service provided the day before and the day of the wedding was fantastic. Michelle came to the venue the day before to meet rental deliveries and set up all tables and chairs. She also ran the rehearsal even though we started about 45 minutes late. The day of Michelle was at the venue about 6 hours before start time, meeting all vendors, making all payments for us, making sure everyone in the wedding party was on time and knew where they were supposed to be. She offered moral support to me was available for anything I needed. My goal for a wedding planner was to have someone help my day be stress free. Michelle of YHD made this possible. I had a hard time with my dad accepting that we wanted/needed a wedding planner, he thought most of the wedding "wasn't necessary". He said we could have done everything without her, I don't think that's true for a second. I was sitting in my bridal suite, sipping on wine and water, waiting for someone to tell me it was time to start. Without Michelle, I probably would have been setting up candles, flowers, checking on the food, is there enough ice at the bar, in a robe, with my hair half done, while my guests were arriving. I would highly recommend Your Heart's Desire for your full wedding planning, or day of services. No matter how much you think you have your wedding under control, you will want to have someone else running the show behind the scenes. She walked me through the entire process so I had realistic expectations and also helped me choose, organize and she even r-sized a few prints so I could get 30x40 inch extra large prints. Today she hand delivered our prints along with a really cute USB drive with all the photos, re-touched and resized photos I requested. Greatness lies in the details. She had some cute little bumble bee stickers along with a small gift bag of local Bee Honey! And a hand written note about our experience. Bees Knees Photography is a class act. I highly recommend.
