Do you have a sweet tooth? Don't walk - RUN to this super cute candy shop! It's actually way more…read morethan just candy - it's nostalgia nestled between 4 walls of yumminess. Want to cool off with some ice cream? Check. Need to quinch your thirst with a funky retro soda? Check. Need to cuddle with some adorable beanie babies? CHECK! This shop really has it all. Since we live in West Ft Worth and don't make it out often, we stocked up on some of the yummy chocolates from the case, I bought waaaaay too many, but they were all delicious! The chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered toffee were my favorites. My son got a cone of Rocky Road (I think) that they make in house. Service was impeccable....Go see Tammy! She will make you feel right at home, like you're family! Bathrooms and the store are clean. If you find yourself in the area, definitely stop by!

I will never shop here again. I stopped by to purchase some chocolate covered coffee beans, knowing…read moreI could go to a local box store and purchase them for far less, my intention was to support a local business owner. While filling my bag 3 coffee beans fell on the floor. Being honest and looking out for the liability (slip and fall hazards) of the business owner I picked up the three beans and proceeded to the register to purchase the beans. While at the register I handed the clerk the 3 beans and told her they fell on the floor so she could throw them in the trash so no one would slip or fall on them. She then place my bag on the scale and then took the three beans and placed them on the scale with my purchase. "Charging me" for the 3 beans! I was absolutely floored and asked if she was really charging me for the beans?? She said it was policy. I told her those 3 beans are actually worth a potential liability law suit? I expressed my absolute disbelief, with a shrug she said I have to charge you. I told her to learn a lesson from this as being honest and looking out for the well being of others apparently is worth less than GREED. She then tried to tell me the cost of coffee beans etc. I explained to her I own 3 business and there is a waste factor built into 99% of businesses. That is no excuse. Especially in specialty candies. I paid 19.87 for .68 lbs that is over 27.00 per lb. I weighed the 3 beans when I got home and they weighed .007 lbs that is a retail cost of .00025 cents my cost so the actual cost to the company is far less than that. Again I am more than happy to pay more to support local business owners however never will I support a company that has a policy to charge there community supporters looking out for their businesses best interest. In hindsight I should have just told her to keep her beans and left the store. I will not make that mistake again. Let's get back to being reasonable again folks. As I am sure their business revenue is majorly based on local support. Unfortunately they are not reciprocating to their supporters. That is bad business in my opinion.

After calling and speaking to the staff multiple times it turns out USPS hasn't received the item. Their response "call USPS". Horrible way to do business! Its Spencer's meets Rocket Fizz. Barf and Ranch Dressing sodas are in the cooler, along with obscure specialty fruit sodas that are less gross. Chunky bars, prayer candles themed after The Office and Breaking Bad characters, and a host of other items familiar, retro, and new line the displays. My one gripe is this is the kind of store it's fun to browse, but difficult to buy from because everything is so unusual and priced as such. We did buy a few things, honey sticks and some cherry drops. The guy behind the counter was notably humorless, weird for a candy store. I don't know if I've seen Willy Wonka too many times, but I kinda want the people working in a candy store to appreciate the joy of the narrative. This dude barely acknowledged me as we checked out. I think we will likely always visit Blooms when we come to Downtown Carrollton because it's kinda irresistible. It's a novelty store and a good place to find an unusual gift as you sift through the options.

I have a little who LOVES Salt Water Taffy and this store was a hit. She got her candy and we went to pay. The cashier asked if we wanted to round up for something, not sure she was very clear, but the first response from my kid was no and then I said no as well. When I mentioned I said no she stated I said yes, indeed I said no. When I said I want the full change back she replied well, I'll have to call my manager and told me to step to the side. Even the gentleman behind me spoke about it and said "no is no, no matter the amount". The manager was very nice and mentioned something about an automatic button. That's crazy that they just go ahead and do whatever. How many other people has this happen to. Not cool! Ultimately it was a great experience, but have to watch that.

Cheerful staff rings up classics from Cow Tales to Toxic Waste. Not sure why it got a few low reviews, but to counter some of those, this isn't meant to be an artisanal chocolatier. And not sure why people would think that. It's classic brands along with specialty ones you can't get at the grocery store. It's definitely on the pricey side, but that's just what you get in the touristy Stockyards area. Its prices are in line with other retail shops in the area. So go, bring a credit card, and just enjoy being a kid in a candy store. :-)
