Unfortunately we had to call in Hospice, so therefore the Guardian Angel Home did not even have to do anything but administer drugs when Hospice was not available and feed him (he stopped eating 4 days in). Our loved one passed 8 days after arriving at Guardian Angel in Merced and they would not even give us back one cent. They also require 30 days notice to move your loved one out or you have to pay for a full month. I find that this establishment is more into receiving your money than giving you good caring service. So in all, we paid $437.50 A DAY for the measly 8 days at this place and it wasn't worth .50 cents. PLEASE RECONSIDER PLACING YOUR LOVED ONE SOMEWHERE ELSE - IN A PLACE THAT WANTS TO HELP - NOT JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Dr.Steffan was amazing, she was empathetic, caring, understanding and knew how to manage my particular condition. The issue I have with this particular place is that I have a condition that I called and asked who specialized in and wanted to work with that Dr., made the appointment & got the ball rolling with her. What I didn't know was that if I didn't specifically say I wanted to ONLY be scheduled with her every time, they will schedule me with anyone. Sometimes another PT specialist but most times a PT assistant. And not everyone at this location provides the same level of care. I gave other specialists a try (multiple times) before asking the front desk to only schedule me with Dr. Steffan every time or let me know when she wasn't available so I can reschedule. Which to me this makes no sense, how can you determine if you're patient is doing better or not if you don't see them every week? It doesn't make sense. I've gone to PT at another location for my back before, this was the first time I experienced a rotating system like this. The only location assigned you the same person every time you went in for your appointment. The front staff is great & will make sure to accommodate your scheduling request so if you do find someone you prefer to work with just make sure you let them know or you will be rotated through different PT specialists & their assistants.

The facility is clean and beautiful, with a very fresh and friendly atmosphere. He had his own room, which was airy and light. We were able to decorate the room with his own furniture and pictures, so that it still felt like his own space. There are plenty of engaging activities promoting a happy social life. The meals were tasty and nutritious and varied so as not to become monotonous. The real stars are the staff. Everyone working at Park Merced excelled in kindness, patience and professionalism. It takes a special person to have the patience to work with memory care residents and Park Merced's employees really excel.
