She was so dramatic about our answer. Next comes person number 2 (the receptionist) asked us if our son is vaccinated and he was so shocked and disappointed by our answer. Next comes person number 3 (a trainee) and he was also extremely disappointed by our answer. Then the Dr. comes in. Person number 4. She asked if our son is vaccinated. We responded with "not yet". She was also disappointed and proceeded to drill us about the dangers of not vaccinating our child. When we didn't say "ok we will vaccinate him" she looked my wife straight in the eyes and said "mother to mother, you need to vaccinate your child! I have never seen a single permanent issue with any patient that has received all their vaccines, however I have seen numerous cases with permanent damage from patients who have not received their vaccines!" Mind you we came in because our baby keeps rubbing his ear and now I feel like we're being interrogated for a felony. It was wild. So we left. Next... 30 min later, our insurance company calls us and suggests that we get our son vaccinated! Unreal. We were pretty disappointed with the experience.

    I debated writing this review, but as a mom, I would want to be aware of this experience…read more I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Jessica Jean-Baptiste Singleton for my 3-year-old daughter, who had a fever and was complaining of significant stomach pain. Our appointment was at 4:30 PM on a Friday, but we were not seen until 5:35 PM During the exam, Dr. Singleton attempted to feel my daughter's abdomen, but my daughter was understandably tense and resisting due to pain. I was assisting in holding her still. Dr. Singleton stated she could not feel anything because of my daughter's abdominal tension and told me she could not determine whether it was appendicitis. She then advised me to take my daughter to the ER for an ultrasound, emphasizing that a ruptured appendix is life-threatening. Naturally, this alarmed me. I asked multiple times if there was anything that could be done in-office to avoid an ER visit, but she insisted that if it were her child, she would go to the ER. Following her direction, I went to the ER she recommended nearby, only to find out--after being admitted--that they do not perform pediatric ultrasounds. At that point, I was facing the possibility of needing to go to a second ER. When the ER doctor evaluated my daughter, he took a completely different approach. He had her lie on me and guided me through applying gentle pressure to different areas of her abdomen while he observed her reaction (Rovsing's sign), and then had her climb on and off the exam table. Based on these simple, non-invasive steps, he was quickly able to determine it was not appendicitis--without even needing to physically examine her himself. When I asked why this couldn't have been done at our pediatrician's office, his response was, "Well, it's a Friday night." This experience left me extremely frustrated. What felt like a lack of thorough evaluation resulted in unnecessary panic, a trip to the wrong ER for pediatric care, and ultimately a $1,500 bill for a visit where no treatment was even performed. As a parent, I expect a higher level of care, effort, and guidance--especially in situations involving young children and serious concerns. Please be aware of this when considering care here.

    We have been patients of ABCD pediatrics since moving here summer of 2019, over the past several…read moremonths it has been impossible to speak with anyone to schedule an appointment, both boys were extremely sick, left several messages but no call back so they were taken to an urgent care office and both children had flu b and strep. Most recently the 10 year old boy had tweaked his neck during sports so took him to the chiropractor. The doctor there provided a film x-ray for us to checkout of his office so Dr. Sheralyn Wood could review and then we were to return it to his office. Dr. Wood kept the film and when I went by to retrieve it..I was told "it was in a box" as they were moving offices. I accepted that and went by 2 weeks later only to be told "they did not have it and just go have another X-ray! How is this the best interest of a child? Exposure to radiation if no need be?

Spoke with the doctor and let her know that his last pediatrician had said everything was OK. The bill the insurance. If you choose to bring your child, please know that you will not have proper communication. There will be no follow ups. And you will never get somebody to call you back despite the many voicemails and messages that you leave.

Front desk was yet again rude, nurse looked pissed off and everything I asked Dr. Garza he brushed off by saying its normal or sure... "sure" was definitely not the answer I want from our doctor. When we left I tried to schedule my sons 4month follow up and front desk (man) said they would call us to schedule. 4th month came and no call. My partner called to schedule apt. For whatever reason they called to reschedule (they left a VM). I called back to t schedule and to ask questions about some concerns that I was having. Person who answered said the doctor had left for the day and to call back Monday if issue continued. At that point we scheduled apt for a Wed at 11:30am.. I asked if that was the earliest and they said yes. We show up exactly at 11:30am. We waited 30minutes when a nurse came out and said the doctor wouldn't see us because we were an hour and a half late (according to them our apt was at 10am). I argued and they said the doctor wouldn't see us. I argued some more and they said the doctor would see us at 1pm. At this point I'm so upset I just don't want my son to be seen there. My son was 4months and 3 weeks and he hadn't gotten his vaccines because they didn't call and when scheduled they rescheduled and when we showed up they said we were late. I denied the apt and asked for my sons medical records. They said they weren't able to release those to me... that became another argument. Finally they had me sign some forms and they said they would email me his records by the end of the day. I never got the forms that day. I called the next day and they said they were working on it. I then get a VM saying that they would charge me $25 for the 1st 7 pages and then some cents for every page after that. Anyway my son got seen at another office and that staff was amazing. From front desk, to nurse to pediatrician. Everybody tried to make conversation with my 5month old and we just felt welcomed and catered to. My son ended up being diagnosed with a possible hernia. A symptom I tried to explain to La Altura over the phone and they dismissed me and then I tried to tell them in person and they didn't seem to care. I am so glad we left. I would not recommend this office to anybody. I should have listened to my mother instinct and changed pediatricians after our first visit. Do yourself and favor and go somewhere else. Oh and while I was there two other moms were having issues and also we got a very high bill in the mail. $976 when wellness visits should be covered
