Although I just started volunteering as a receptionist at this location just the other day, I do…read moreknow a lot about this place and would like to share this information with all of you. If you know a little about the ARC, come by and volunteer. Most of this office's opportunities are volunteer only(although most are field-work spots), you pretty much help out at other places, but this is a large regional office for the newly-combined Dutchess and Ulster Co. branches. (There are some paid spots within the office, but for the most part, most of the office is volunteer work. These spots tend to be the "director-level/executive level spots for paid spots, but it all depends on the situation.) This location does take donations, however clothes are not acceptable donations at this location(an ARC location in Maryland does this). If you're not sure, call this location and find out. Money(checks and cash), and MoneyGram donations are accepted, as well as supplies such as water and the like, are also accepted here. Drop it by. You'll get a tax-donation receipt for any monetary donation you can give. The American Red Cross needs your help in any way you can. You might even benefit yourself, if you have lost something due to natural disasters(or need help looking for someone, even someone who is in the military). Also at this location, they have a transport ERV(Emergency Response Vehicle) that provides the supplies to needy emergencies, based on other factors which I'm not going to get into here. Another thing they have at this location is a blood donation center, which is open every day that the main location is open. Come to the front door(nearest the parked ERV-and up the few stairs), sign in to the guestbook(and later sign-out) and give some blood.

We called today about missed pickup and they are sending someone out right away. They take everything that is put out as long as it will fit in the truck, and if something falls on the ground they pick it up. It is my pleasure to write this. I was out shoveling the end of my driveway after a small snowstorm…read morethat left 3 inches of wet, heavy snow. I was starting at the end of my driveway where the snow plows deposited wet, heavy slush. I observed a sanitation truck come down Bruynswick Rd in the Gardiner, New Paltz area on 12/5/2024 @ approximately 11:30 am & stopped across the street from me, the gentleman got out of his truck & proceeded to pick up my neighbors garbage pail out of the snow that obviously had been knocked over by a snow plow. He then continued & picked up all the garbage that was knocked out of the pail & cleaned it all up. I thanked him for the EXTRA EFFORT he performed. I wish I asked for his name, but I asked God to bless him. Most sanitation companies wouldn't get out of their trucks anymore as they have an arm on their truck to do the dirty work & if your pail was knocked over by either the wind, a bear or a snow plow, they leave it where it lies an continue down the road. Kudos to LeMela Sanitation & the gentleman who went ABOVE & BEYOND his duties. I didn't ask for his name, but he seemed he was Latino, I sure hope his management see's this review & recognizes him for a JOB WELL DONE. When my wife comes home from work, I am going to suggest changing our company to LeMela Sanitation. My existing company DOESN'T even get out of their truck for ANY reason, & if we do, it's because of this gentleman. Again, THANK YOU & GOD BLESS the unknown collector.

I am going to preface this by saying I am a member of the church where this child care is located,…read moreso I already knew the director. I sent my special needs daughter this past week to the summer camp they provide and it was the best decision I could have made. Despite never having to care for a diabetic prior to this the staff was very accomadating. I did some prep work myself making cheat sheets on what to do for her and I was always a phone call away if there were any questions. The kids were wonderful to my daughter, (as a mom of a diabetic you always fear that kids won't be nice). Every day my daughter didn't want to come home, and because she did so much putting her to bed was a breeze. Thank you Miss Princess, Miss Cathy, Miss Chelsea, Mr. Jamal, and Miss J for all you do. All being well Ana will be back next year!!
