Steven's catered my wedding. I heard about them from a friend who uses their services all the time,…read moreand now I definitely understand why. Steven impressed me throughout the process! My first meeting with him was different than with any other caterer: he spoke with me and my mom and was clearly very passionate about the food itself! (Amazingly, I didn't get that vibe from any of the others I met with). We talked through many options and what would be best for the event and the guests coming, during that meeting and afterward, to make sure we had the right menu. I also got to taste test almost everything that I had actually chosen (not just any samples from his menu) and was impressed even with that. One very important thing was the fact that Steven was extremely willing to accommodate dietary issues. I had two friends attending the wedding with severe food allergies (both different ones), and without hesitation, Steven offered to custom make each of them a plate to avoid any cross contamination. No other caterer that I spoke to was willing to do this, but it made all the difference for my friends who were able to enjoy the wedding without worry. Finally, I can't stress enough how good the final results were. I got so many comments during the wedding - even from people who aren't foodies like me and wouldn't normally comment on food - telling me that it was the best and healthiest food they had ever had at a wedding. I would have to agree. It takes a lot to pull that off for a large group of people, but Steven's did it beautifully and very kindly. I would recommend Steven's to anyone!

This review is for the catering aspect of Schmidt's and not their dine in facility…read more I planned my wedding at the Ohio Historical Society: Ohio Village, and if you use their facilities for a party, then you must pick a caterer off of their preferred list. At first, I scoffed at Schmidt's, and marked it off as a "sausage and kraut" house. I mean, who wants that kind of stuff at their wedding? Well, after a disappointing consultation with one of their other preferred caterers, I decided to give Schmidt's a shot after taking a look at what they offered on their website. I am so glad that we decided to go with Schmidt's! The contract procedure, and getting everything in order went well thanks to Arlene! The only real problem we had was with the linens being pricey, or not being available, and this was like... a week, or two before the wedding, but everything worked out, and we were told by OHS management that our reception was decorated nicer than any previous receptions they had. (Not sure if it was sincere, or not, but it was still nice to hear.) NOW, to the FOOD! We ordered basic cold cut sandwiches, traditional potato salad, a cheese and veggie tray, and some bahama mamas (their signature sausage.) Sadly, I couldn't partake of the bahama mamas due to me being worried of spilling red sauce on my wedding gown. The food was great, and was just what we wanted. It was nice and simple, and everyone left with a full stomach from our early wedding. So am I going to recommend Schmidt's catering? YES, YES, YEESSSS! They were so helpful on one of the most stressful things a bride has to deal with. They also made it work with our small budget for 50+ people. I will warn you, I had to deal with a grumpy fiancee about not having cream puffs instead of wedding cake. Choose wisely!

They brought in decorations for our tent and tables to give it a festive feel and set everything up for us. Everyone RAVED about the food (we actually had a better turn out because we advertised Schmidt's was catering!). There was more than enough food to meet our needs - especially the mini cream puffs! (YUM!) They provided not only the food, but the beer as well - which also received rave reviews! The staff quietly worked in the background to make sure the food was hot and available, as well as cleaning up behind our people as they were socializing. Jennifer was such a pleasure to work with that I felt as though I had made a new friend by the time they left. There is absolutely no question that we will use them when we have our next event! Now as this was our first time here and we was so taken back by the throw back feel of the place! It gave me small town vibes! I instantly missed home walking into this grocery store! EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN AND NEAT! nothing was picked over and smelled so fresh! Until u got to the meat section then the seafood section was over whelming! But there is a spirits section and a local pop section and then local bakery! We seen the deli section and tried EVERYTHING! we took home so potato salad and the broccoli salad stuff can't remember what it was but it's good! lol They had a lot of prepared foods to but a bit over priced but available! Cute store! Only 5 lanes and 2 lanes open! They did take apple and Samsung pay! The cashiers don't really talk and the workers in the back were really nice and answered all of outlet questions! And loved their wine section! Also u can get balsamic vinegar fresh! Love that!

Updated review - again no Tuna - per a worker - they ONLY get TUNA on Thursday's and don't even…read morethink about stocking it except for Thursday because otherwise it rots,,,? But - It's Tuesday so... Maybe lower your super-high prices (Like $35+ per pound) for Tuna. Maybe you will sell more and actually have some in-stock in case one of your customers want some. I think a "Gourmet Super Market" should stock some gourmet fish - Like TUNA :-) I can buy Salmon anywhere less expensively. I don't know why I keep going back - I guess it's the thrill of the chase now. Edit: I just saw Dan's response. Oh well Dan - losing stock is a cost of doing business and you can write it off - Meanwhile - I'll find somewhere else to shop. I never had this problem - EVER - before you remodeled the store and moved the fish counter to the back near the meat. YUCK
