I was in Livengrin in 2009. From the moment I walked in, I felt accepted and that the staff really wanted to help me. I learned a lot at the program and I am currently coming up on 14 years of continuous sobriety. People there cared about me, when I entered the facility and after I left. When I was at Livengrin, the staff were so caring & the program that they have there is Awesome! The lectures that they have throughout the day were SO beneficial & I really absorbed all the information & took that with me when I left. My relative was at Livengrin for alcohol treatment. He told me he saw a psychiatrist for medication who was studying to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Being a member of the medical profession myself, this made no sense. I called to get clarification but never got a return call. He chose to leave the facility because of treatment that seemed unprofessional. I tried to get the name of the psychiatrist. One staff member told me there was none. Another told me a "psychiatrist's" name but said she could not tell me any information because of HIPPA. I wanted to look up the credentials of the staff, asked for a brochure, and was told all the information was online. I believe a person should be able to find out details like this since I'm not asking about the patient's personal information. This place is more than secretive, and evasive. There's nothing online that informs about the staff or their credentials. I am very wary of Livengrin. read more

First let me say that Livengrin saved my life. That being said, the staff (admissions, techs, counselors e.t.c) immediately take away the fear you have going into treatment. They make you feel like you are being taken care of by family. They really want you to recover and lead a happy fulfilling life. The program helps you to prepare for a life in recovery. The facility is clean, well equipped and safe! The food is abundant and healthy. The campus is beautiful and very conducive to recovery. I could go on and on. The fact is that I would take anyone I love that has an addiction disorder to Livengrin without hesitation, and that says it all! Thank you for giving me hope again! read more

Livengrin was the best decision I could make for my recovery. I don't have any complaints about this place, it completely changed my life . It's a peaceful atmosphere Inside and out. The rooms are really nice. The women's lounge was awesome . The staff here are all really great people who truly care . You feel that from admission until the day you leave. I shed a lot of tears here and never felt alone or judged. I also had a ton of laughs here! I was in Livengrin in 2018 and it's lessons and values have stayed with me to this day. The staff and counselors are kind, patient and put the patients well being above all. My loved one is now trying to obtain his medical records from Livengrin and Livengrin has invoked a policy which requires my loved one to speak with Livengrin personnel to obtain those records rather than completing and signing a records request form, in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and comparing the signature on the form to my loved one's signature that is already on file in the requested medical records. The Director from Livengrin that is refusing to accept the signed form claims that it is Livengrin's "policy". Why would this facility force an individual that has already been placed at grave risk by their employees to go beyond legal requirements to obtain his own medical records? read more

Livengrin Foundation is a wonderful organization that helps people recovery from their addictions. I have personally witnessed miracles over the years I have been in recovery. The staff is VERY caring but understand the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction all too well. I volunteer here a few times per year and see distraught family members drop off sons and daughters addicted to drugs with desperation in their eyes. Within a couple of weeks, they return with renewed hope again. I know first hand that in those two weeks the Livengrin clinicians have been hard at work rehabilitating the addict by using a practical program of action that actually works. read more

Upon arriving at this facility with our son, who was in full-blown heroin withdrawal, the staff was so cold and uncaring that it was shocking to experience. No one offered him a cold glass of water, and no one offered a sympathetic word or evidenced any compassion or understanding. Thank goodness we didn't have the requisite "photo ID" (not required at the place we ultimately brought our son), so we left. Additionally, this facility is not in the bucolic setting the website would have you believe it's in. It's right next to a high school -- great for drug addicts to seek out product -- on a busy road, and there's a large construction site which encompasses the area. This was our first experience with a "rehab" facility and it was terrible. I'd strongly dissuade anyone from even thinking about this place. read more

Had to detox off of my pain medication. I did thorough research on all the facilities in the area. Livengrin seemed to have the highest recommendations. I was nervous about going through withdrawal, but I knew it was necessity since my doctor cut me off without warning or a taper. Livengrin happened to have one bed open in detox. I thought I was going to go through hell, but I was so wrong. Detox was so comfortable. The tapers were fantastic. I was at ease most of the time because they supply you with "comfort meds." I can honestly say I enjoyed my time in detox. The food was great. The staff techs were awesome. We were a very tight knit group and our therapy was talking to each other for most of the day. I didn't enjoy waking up at 5:30am for meds, but I had the option to have coffee and cigarettes before breakfast, crash out on one of the sofas, or go back to sleep. They were always prompt and made sure we got our daily meds on time. The staff tech who admitted me, Susan, was amazing, reassuring, and so nice. She made me feel so welcome and gave me so many hugs and told me I was going to be just fine.. and I was. If you need to detox from ANYTHING, I would very strongly recommend this facility. There was one nasty counselor, Maryanne, but that was my ONLY negative experience there. If you want to get and stay clean, go to Livengrin. These people know exactly what they're doing. I can't thank them enough for all the tools they gave me to stay sober :-) On a side note, most of the staff techs are recovering addicts/alcoholics so they can really relate to the patients and have great one on one talks with them. I absolutely loved my conversations with the staff techs. Also, you're allowed to have your cigarettes, your own lighter, you can smoke when you want (unless it's time for group or a meeting), you're allowed to have shoe laces, a razor so you can shave (and they don't watch you), perfume, and so many other things. No aerosol cans for obvious reasons. The showers are actually bath tubs so you can take a bath if you want to. The windows open all the way. You don't feel like a prisoner. It really is a wonderful place. I left $20 out in the open and it was all still there after 5 days. Bonus: detox patients have a kitchenette filled with sandwiches, oreos, cereal, chips, beverages, etc. You can eat whenever you want to, and who doesn't love oreos? I gained at least 5lbs in there! read more

My wife and I finally got our 25 year old girl to go. We got everything approved first. After almost a day of trying to get the daughter to go. My wife shows up at Livengrin and is told that they are not able to detox her. This was a life and death situation. Was she refused because it would be too much work? She was White? Not on Obama care? This place should have its books and levels of competency examined closely. If you are trying to save a loved one, beware! If anything happens to my daughter?
