Then they will decline to change the intake paperwork to reflect the actual test you want, even if you've already paid the $50 fee upfront. I tried contacting the Office Manager about this very simple mistake, and that person didn't respond whatsoever. So now, instead of correcting their mistake and gaining a new client, they're just going to lose my business instead. Unfortunately, this was my first choice because of the business owner's responses to the Yelp reviews, but it's now the last place I'd consider because of the office's apparent policies to not allow scheduling for the testing the client specifies they want and then not respond at all when asked about it. My advice to the business owner is to talk to your staff about this experience. Learn where the office policy is getting it wrong, review with the staff how they could have recovered this, and make the necessary changes accordingly.

My virtual appointments were easy and my experience in their office during my assessment was very comfortable. All of my appointments were scheduled within a very reasonable time frame and my results were provided within the window I was told: 6-12 weeks. Dr.Craig was my evaluative psychologist and I loved speaking with her. She was very thoughtful and thorough - and provided me comfort and care that helped put me at ease when receiving multiple diagnoses. I was in the uncomfortable position of needing testing and diagnosis at the age of 44. I was never made to feel like I didn't belong, even though I was seeking treatment much later in life than what's considered "normal." Dr.Craig ultimately reintroduced me to myself and helped change my life for the better. I highly recommend ACTA. ***Yes. Always contact your insurance before any evaluation process to make sure the provider is in your network. The first practice I was referred to for my evaluations was out of my network and would have cost me $3,000+ out of pocket. As much as I desperately needed the evaluation, I simply couldn't afford that cost. Months later, a second specialist referred me to ACTA and they were confirmed to be in my network. The cost of my "in network" care at ACTA was remarkably affordable and worth every penny.

She could easily overwhelm someone who is uncomfortable with strongly opinionated women, but she is an incredible listener and is not afraid to keep a patient's diagnosis a fluid one. She also gave me referrals for a psychiatrist and a marriage counselor-- when the first marriage counselor didn't work out well, she gave me another referral that did. She was recommended to me by a friend, and I've recommended her to my own friends and family. She is a Christian and that does influence her world view and style of therapy, but she does not only treat other Christians and is adept and skilled enough to keep religion out of sessions when necessary. Personally, being a Christian, she is the first real Christian Psychologist I've ever seen, and the experience has been life-changing. So many times I've been forced to keep my religious views out of my therapy sessions, but I just can't divorce my mind and my spirit like that. Other Christians who have just been "counselors" or "therapists" were not skilled enough to deal with the depth of my problems and ended up doing more harm than good. To say that I TRUST Dr. Taylor is the greatest vote of confidence I could ever give to a doctor, and I do.

I reached out to The Practice this past spring (2018) due to the onset of intense anxiety attacks,…read morestemming from a string of public speaking events required of me in my new job. From my perspective it was a rather urgent situation, though I never expected to be squeezed in on short notice. And yet I was, because the therapists at The Practice are genuinely caring, compassionate, and proactive about the well-being of their clients. Once I started EMDR (trauma) therapy, it was game on. My therapist, Lindley Domingue, has a reputation for being the best EMDR therapist in Austin and I can tell you it's well-deserved. The progress I made over 3 months was remarkable, there's no other word for it. Knowing a little about the process (but not much), I felt very safe in her hands as she explained everything in our first session. The next few sessions were about assessing my needs and specifics about my situation, before she took me through the actual EMDR process. With this type of therapy, results are different for everyone, but for me not a session went by in which I didn't experience a significant leap forward or profound insight to what had been holding me back and keeping me stuck in the past. It's not an overstatement to say the experience was life-changing for me. Some of the best money I've ever spent. For the record, I've had the same (excellent) talk therapist for many years, and I wouldn't trade her for anyone. But in this instance I needed a different kind of help and I needed it fast. I could've really blown it at my new job, or gotten off to a slow shaky start. Lindley refused to let that happen. I've never felt safer or in better, more qualified hands. The office is a beautiful, serene space, and the other therapists seem equally authentic, caring, and knowledgable. (I've met more than a few over the years, all over Austin, and there's no comparison. Honestly, it's scary how stuck in the dark ages some therapists are.) The Practice is just next level. Very progressive, very informed, and highly skilled.

I really only needed them to manage 4 medications (lithium, Quetiapine, lamotrigine and propranolol) no controlled substances. The dosages were already figured out. All the work had already been done for them. I also listed a bunch of other PRNs that I had tried while in treatment that i wasn't currently taking. Again no controlled substances, they were trazadone, gabapentin, hydroxyzine. I've been a RN for over 12 years, I was the supervisor on the first acute care floor in central tx to take on covid. The first wave really did a number on me that caused a lot of my PTSD. Anyway, what im trying to say is I tell people when they haven't been honest with me, to avoid being resentful toward them. When I tried to set up this appointment to see a PA for medication management I was denied because I was too "high acuity." What happened before that was me giving Christopher Keener some honest feedback on his response time. They wouldn't confirm the appointment until they had a credit card on file. Before I could put my husband's credit card on file I had to fill out a release of information form. Which made me feel like a criminal that had to prove my innocence. Credit card information has nothing to do with HIPAA. I have never heard or been asked to do this before. I was told I would be called as soon as it was in. I did it right away, waited, emailed to see if he received it, waited a little longer, tried to access my portal to enter the card but it hadn't been set up, I called back got someone different they said they sent him a message and he would be calling back in 20mins, it never happened that day. I wanted to get it done because I was finishing up treatment the next day and wouldn't have my phone on me. They would only hold the spot for 24hrs and i was worried I'd loose it. No attempt was made to reach out to me for clarification, no doc to doc was requested. Just a refusal. The corespondance is copied and pasted below. Notice the times. I gave him some honest feedback about response time at 11:46 and the refusal was sent at 11:52. I think somebody(Christopher Keener) may have got in their feelings and did this passive aggressive lash out. I'm really surprised that a therapist(Christopher keener) could have such thin skin.
