I came here for a friend's birthday, and she rented a private karaoke room. We had an absolute blast! I didn't get a chance to try the food, but everything I saw coming out looked really good. The karaoke room was pretty warm, but I just assumed it was because there were a lot of us in a small space, so it wasn't a big deal. The real problem was when our room time was over and we went into the main area. It was HOT, like, no air at all. And I'm not talking about the Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks song (LOL). It was honestly unbearable. With the heat wave we've been having, there's really no excuse for the AC to be struggling that much. Other than that, we had a great time, and I'd definitely come back. I just hope management sees this and gets the air conditioning fixed because it would make the experience so much better. read more

I have had the chance to visit the locations, the Wharf and the Harbor. Visually the Harbor is much larger and lore esthetically pleasing. It also has large windows overlooking the water as well as outdoor seating. We had our end of year staff celebration here. We had a small buffet of finger goofs that were realy good as well as happy hour drink specials. For a while, we had the space to ourselves but as it got later it got more busy. Eventually security had to monitor the lidt because the ended up being some fighting over it. Staff was ok. They gave conflicting information about their policies. Overall it was an okay experience. Karaoke at National Harbor, the location alone sets you up for a good night. Lively Kari sits above McCormick & Schmick's and fair warning, there is no elevator. We persevered, but noted. The main space is exactly what you'd expect lively, energetic, good atmosphere. We had a private room which in theory sounds ideal until you're actually in it. Smaller than expected and a little stuffy, but manageable once the singing starts. Our server was attentive, checked in consistently and kept orders moving which is appreciated in a karaoke setting where people are distracted and indecisive. The food? Solidly mid. Nothing on that menu is going to wow you and you will not leave full, just set that expectation now. The mozzarella sticks were the highlight and that says everything it needs to say. Come fed or plan to eat after. One thing worth calling out, it was a 90s themed event and the background videos accompanying the songs were noticeably lacking in representation. We're talking songs written and made famous by Black artists playing over visuals of predominantly white women with no connection to the song whatsoever. In a genre where Black artists defined the era, that's a miss and worth addressing. Inclusion in the details matters. The National Harbor location saves the overall experience, plenty to do once you've sung your heart out. Just some things to iron out before the next visit. read more

Came with friends to celebrate a birthday and recent promotion. Our private room was a lot of fun with great sound for the space and cozy seating around the room. Our waitress was really friendly and accommodating, especially as the rooms were having A/C issues, but she kept bringing fans and complementary beverages to make up for the hot space. Let's start with the elephant in the room: accessibility. What's up with the stairs? Seriously. I had difficulty getting up and down them and couldn't find a clearly marked accessible entrance anywhere. Even more frustrating, no one seemed able to clearly explain where one might be. Accessibility shouldn't be an afterthought. I hope management takes a closer look at this because it can completely impact someone's experience before the fun even begins. Now onto the actual experience: My friends and I came for a 90s karaoke night. The place is colorful, lively, and has plenty of cute spots for pictures, especially out on the patio. If you're looking for content, you'll definitely get a few good shots. The karaoke room itself was nice, but it was way too small for our large party. We made it work, but there wasn't much room to move around. One thing that really threw us off was the karaoke video selection. Several songs didn't even have lyrics on the screen, which is kind of important for karaoke. Even stranger, many of the videos featured white actors and models while songs from iconic Black R&B artists were playing. It felt culturally disconnected and honestly a little whitewashed. We found ourselves asking, "Why are we watching this?" It definitely took away from the experience. Service was fine. No issues there. As for the food, it was okay. We shared the lobster pizza, mozzarella sticks, and fries. The fries were SALTY salty. Somebody in that kitchen must have been super heavy handed! Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The surprise winner of the night was my lychee mocktail. It was refreshing and probably the best thing I had all evening. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the colorful decor, and the karaoke concept. However, the accessibility concerns, cramped karaoke room, and odd karaoke video choices kept this from being an AMAZING experience for me. Hopefully management takes the feedback into consideration because there's definitely potential here. Loved this new Live K location! I celebrated my Birthday at the Wharf location a few years ago, but the National Harbor location may be my new favorite! The main karaoke room and some of the private rooms have a great view of the harbor and the ferris wheel. The food is way better than bar food. I really liked the Truffle Mushroom Fried Rice, coconut shrimp, and Crab Rangoon the most. Try the Emotional Cocktails too! They're so cute and fun! If it isn't clear by the photo, it wasn't too busy as it was Sunday around winter time but it felt like a concert setting and really spacious with seating around the perimeter and a small bar. They did bring drinks to us after ordering at the bar so service was great and I loved the lychee martini! The 'infatuation'? I think? A gin based drink was not my favourite. We did not get a private room but enjoyed the main area. It's not that much diff from the location at the wharf, just way more spacious! People can change the songs though and rude people just take over and clear the list sometimes but the business can't control that! Talk about party vibes. I was in National Harbor for a convention, and I honestly wish I could be down there regularly for happy hour time. This spot is a prime example of FUN. So, as soon as you go up the steps and go inside, it's just colorful bright lights everywhere. There's a big dance floor with 'VIP' seats on the each side next to the windows, and a long bar on the far wall. The stage is literally in the center, with a tablet for signing up for songs.... YAY. Past that is bathrooms and the private karaoke rooms. I had so much fun I went multiple times while down there... so I had their chicken taquitos, mozzarella sticks, and various drinks on their HH menu (4-7 Monday to Friday). All was delicious, and you can't stand a tab... you pay as you go, which is fine and reduces the worry of flagging down for the check later. Now, the last time I went was Saturday evening and it DEFINITELY gets busy and loud. But the fun doesn't stop, but it may not be for everyone. If you want a fun karaoke vibe definitely consider dropping by here. Two nitpicks: I haven't found a way to sing without the original vocals on, and while they do automatically charge 20% when you pay as you go, the screen definitely doesn't reflect that... so pay attention. read more

I wasnt sure if what I was eating was meat and asked the waitress to confirm and she still stated that the meal had no meat. I later called to ask if this particular menu items come with me and was told that it does. If you have specific dietary needs, be careful with the menu because it doesnt seem the staff is well versed on the menu read more

I recently visited K-Live Karaoke International Harbor this past Wednesday to celebrate a birthday during their karaoke happy hour, and while the overall idea and atmosphere had promise, the experience itself felt a bit lackluster, especially for a weekday. To start, accessibility was an immediate concern. There was no clear ADA-accessible entry, and the only visible option was a long flight of stairs. Unfortunately, one of our guests had difficulty navigating stairs and was unable to use an elevator, either because it was unavailable or not functioning. Check-in also took much longer than expected. It felt like there may have been staffing shortages or just a lack of organization, because even after showing IDs, we waited quite a while before anyone actually checked us in and escorted us to our reserved private room. Once inside, the setup was straightforward but slightly confusing. We were instructed to use QR codes, one for the menu and one for food ordering, while alcoholic drinks required calling a server into the room. I started simple with wings and a soft drink. The wings arrived, but my drink never did. Later, I was told it had been sent back because no one claimed it, even though I never heard it announced. Things became more frustrating when I ordered a round of four cocktails. Everyone else received their drinks, but mine never came. When I followed up, there was confusion, and it seemed like my order hadn't been properly tracked. After clarifying that I had already ordered and paid, the drinks finally arrived about 45 to 50 minutes into our reservation, which at that point was already halfway over. Even the replacement soft drink tasted off, almost like it had been remade quickly and lacked carbonation. Given that we had to pay in advance and tip upfront, the level of service didn't quite match expectations. It left me wondering whether I would have received my drinks at all if I hadn't followed up multiple times. On a more positive note, once I started ordering directly from the bar, the experience improved significantly. The bartender was quicker, more attentive, and the drinks came out as expected. The karaoke room itself was fun, and our group still managed to enjoy the celebration despite the hiccups. Overall, I had a decent time, but for a weekday visit, I expected smoother service and better organization. Energetic atmosphere. Music was so loud you couldn't have a conversation without yelling. The bar had a few signature cocktails that were very good but a little expensive. The individual karaoke room was very nice and came with a dedicated server, big screens and leather perimeter seating. The process for creating a playlist was a bit confusing but we figured it out. The room was clean, the food and drinks were delicious and the service was great in the room. I celebrated my birthday at Live K Karaoke at The Wharf and spent over $200 on a private room for 2-3 hours. We ordered food, drinks, and were literally just singing and enjoying ourselves. Instead of simply telling us our time was up or that we were being too loud, management decided to send a POLICE OFFICER to escort us out like we were criminals. What made it even worse was that when the officer walked in, there was a timid staff member standing behind him like they were expecting a group of Black women to argue or become confrontational just because they needed to ask us to leave. The entire approach felt unnecessary, uncomfortable, and honestly biased. I even asked the officer if he was going around to every room asking people to leave, and he claimed he was "making his rounds." Funny enough, once we walked out, he stayed watching us instead of going anywhere else. The entire interaction felt intimidating, unnecessary, and humiliating on my birthday. The officer was combative, rude, and confrontational for absolutely no reason. Please be cautious spending your money here if you expect basic respect from staff. There are plenty of places that know how to communicate with paying customers without involving law enforcement. I'll never return to Live K Karaoke again, especially not for any celebration that actually means something to me. The wings were good though. That's about the only positive thing I can say. My family decided to rent a room for NYE from 8-11pm. We would have loved to bring in the New Year there but the reservations were already booked. I've been to the location at the Wharf and thought great things. I wasn't as impressed with the National Harbor location. First, the security checked and patted down our party that was over the age of 21 but then separated us from the minors until our room was ready, which I didn't like. It was very loud when we entered and hard to even understand what the staff was saying. Our server who came to take our order was amazing! However, I felt like our hostess who lead us to our room and then escorted us out could have been more welcoming. The room was nice and clean and we had views of the water and Ferris Wheel which my little cousin (she is 3 years old) loved. When we left at 11pm, it was extremely crowded, smelled of weed and someone pushed me as I was walking out. In the future, I would much prefer to drive to the Wharf to that location as opposed to the National Harbor. However, the National Harbor does have more rooms:) I didn't get any food because I had tried it before and wasn't impressed but the drinks are great:) read more

Last night after my room reservation with a few friends , we went to the public karaoke area to join everyone with the last songs of the night. Here many people can add songs to a queue and go in order to perform their songs. It is key to point out there is a small label that's indicates "Do Not Skip Songs". While I was trying to add my songs there were others touching the monitor as well. With all going on, I simply asked someone to add my song and then I walked away as it was getting overwhelming . When my song entered the queue my friend and I collected the microphones and joined on the stage. Just as out song was starting on stage, a security man with locs paused our song and began yelling and cursing at us that we skipped songs in the queue . This was not true but I wasn't going to argue with a man and simply went and told other security and our host for the night, Chris. Honestly, it was horrific and embarrassing as he continued to berate us in front of everyone. This behavior of staff is not at all what I've experienced at the Wharf location. read more

1. Your credit card is not safe. If the "system" for holding a tab is to take your physical credit card and your ID, place a piece of paper around your credit card and put it in the register drawer with your DL, YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS! There is absolutely no reason in the 21st century that this should be the way to handle a reservation. It's unsafe and completely out of step with the times. This is what I had to do to get my room with my guests and hold the tab. If it had been just a few of us, I would have grabbed my credit card and driver's license and left the joint. One week later, this same credit card (my Amex) was used to purchase something from an apple store in Bethesda! Never in my life been to that apple store! Of course since it was Amex, it's taken care of but beware of this janky system for holding tabs. 2. Once you're done, the billing is so damn convoluted it was criminal. Not straightforward, no itemized bill for the drinks, just a lump sum and you can't tell what charge is for what. 3. Having said that all that, we had a good time. But I don't believe I will be going back, based on the lack of security, how they handle your credit cards and ID. And I would not recommend it to anyone, based on that fact alone. read more
