It was the first time we participated, and we made it a family affairs, with both of our girls qualifying as our decendents with our tribal affiliation. We enjoyed dinner in their cafeteria before splitting into groups for learning sessions. The school was clean and cheerful. I enjoyed seeing all of the kids' artwork displayed as we walked through the halls. We attended a robotics class and a native class that focused on geography and traditions. We all learned how to make cornhusk dolls and left with one of our own. Thank you Salem-Keiser for recognizing and teaching Native American culture in public schools!

Curriculum themes (seasons, colors, holidays, etc) are integrated with reading, pre-writing and storytelling, counting, art, and music (my daughter loves to sing the songs she's learned) and biblical stories. She is proud to know about rules, consequences, manners, and personal responsibility: i.e. clean up, sharing, communicating, etc. and has made many friends. She loves her teacher and the day care staff, all of whom are warm, knowledgeable, gentle and supportive. And she comes home happy! What could be improved? At drop-off, we working parents are in a rush, and the daycare staff isn't as cohesive as I believe they could be in helping with the transition . . . it's a little bumpy. I've seen where teachers and staff come to the car to get the kids and bring them in: I liked it because it saves time and the transition is clear-cut. Other than this minor issue, Sonshine School has been a blessing for us and I would highly recommend it.

This seemed like a popularity event or club than a church. I sent an email with positive and negative feedback and never received anything. I also had sent a thing on their app to have someone contact me and it never happened either- I would never go back.

It gives students the independence they need while still providing the support and guidance to help them succeed. Our son started at Salem Academy in 5th grade, and this school has changed his life in ways we never could have imagined. Unlike public schools, Salem Academy looks at the whole child--focusing not just on academics, but also on character and personal growth. It's a safe, encouraging place where kids can learn, grow, and become who they were meant to be, surrounded by positive role models and supportive peers. Now, as we approach graduation, our family will forever be grateful for our time at Salem Academy.

Though there aren't many reviews for this daycare,…read moreall the same kids are still here from when I first enrolled my daughter a year ago, so I imagine there are a lot of other satisfied parents. The teachers/caretakers are what make a school/daycare a good experience or not. Lori and Jessie have been the primary teachers and both are extremely dedicated and care a lot about the children. Lori has always gone the extra mile to keep me updated on my daughter. My daughter runs up to her excited every day. The daycare is tidy/orderly, they do a lot of crafts, they provide healthy snacks, if you forget your kids lunch they won't call you and tell you to bring something, they'll find something for them to eat, etc. They try to be as accommodating as possible. I do think they need another full-time teacher, for support, in case anyone gets sicks, and just to make things easier for them. I also think whoever owns LMA should be more involved in helping the Salem location grow.
