It wasn't as big of a deal as it should have been, because something could have happened to my son. They are located on a busy street and my son could have easily been kienqpped, gotten hurt on the slippery wet equipment. He was cold and scared and it broke my heart. and the teachers still work there. All they did was have them work in a pair for a while. Endangering a child's life deserves more than just having a buddy to watch over you. There are too many kids for the teachers to look over. Teachers were very nice, but for how expensive they are... I've been able to keep him engaged longer in activities at home than before. I really love the way they have their setup and credit them for potty training my kid. They were incredibly flexible with my needs to bring his own food due to allergies, which was such a relief to me. Always treating you with a smile know matter how chaotic it was inside. We toured them right when they opened and I immediately loved the way it was set up. The first time I saw it was actually before they started any children, and I loved the setup. The sign in system is really easy to use, and they also use KidReports which gives us an update on our boy and when he ate, napped, snacked etc. The price was really reasonable, far better than most places in Gresham-I'm telling you - we initially did it two days a week and we've switched to five days because he loved it so much. The Staff is absolutely the friendliest I've seen, and my son absolutely loves his teacher and everyone who works there. My son is 22months old and since starting has learned to say thank you, yay, do all of the wheels on the bus actions, wash his hands and more. I actually have used three daycare centers at different times for different reasons. This really is my favorite. The people come off as nicer and in many cases more experienced and I've noticed the older children all interact with the toddlers and in a great way. Which anytime you see kids running around toddlers, it's like they have no idea they're there or they're too rough with them. Not here, you can tell they're taught to care and play with others. The building is a good size and their play area is awesome. They have a fancy ceiling to floor game system too that helps learn different things like letters. My wife and I have never felt safer when we dropped our son off. If you're considering looking at them, please do. It'd be a real shame if they didn't have enough kids to stay open. And right now I can almost guarantee they have the resources and openings that they would love your business. Not only do I think they'll earn it when you walk in, they'll keep it every day when you walk out. They're right near the Gresham Vision Center and a building or two before the Gresham Public Library. Several teachers were yelling at the kids pretty rudely, such as threatening to call parents or lock them in the van alone if they didn't listen (ie teachers wanting the children to take smiley pictures not a safety concern issue), while at the Olson Farms Pumpkin Patch on October 17, 2023. These responses seemed pretty extreme for each context. Also a girl got hurt while playing and one of the teachers was invalidating and shaming in how she spoke to her. The teacher left her to cry on her own for several minutes. I spoke up to say it seemed that she could use kindness and validation; the teacher did not do anything, instead continued to leave the girl alone after saying she did not have ice. As a parent this was all disturbing to see and not what I would expect from preschool teachers. This school appears to need the teachers to be trained in how to speak to children in an engaging way. The teachers do not appear to know how to emotionally regulate themselves so how can they teach this to the children?

I could not be happier with our experience with the school. The teachers, the curriculum, the communication were all above expectation. The small class size and having 2 teachers per classroom meant a lot of one on one time. The teachers truly treat the kids like their own. They did daily art projects, played outside or did activities in the gym (weather dependent), went on field trips, learned their ABC's in sign language, and worked on all of the basic Pre-K skills, such as letters, numbers, days of the week, months, colors, shapes, etc. I feel as though my son has a huge advantage going into kindergarten this coming fall, and this is all due to Scribbles wonderful program. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a preschool program for their little one.

Here is why my rating is so low. when i signed up for this school I was misinformed about it being a Montessori school. I saw the teacher interact with the kids and be nice or playful with them during the small window of parent pick up. I believe these people are good people, they are just old school and set in their ways. the woman has a long history in the education system and feels that she knows everything and if you want to try and talk to her she will get defensive and rude and talk over you. no matter how many kids are around watching the scene. they have more kids than they can take care of and teach. a couple weeks ago I picked up my son and found this little boy with his pants down, exposing his penis, instead of getting up to help this boy who couldnt do it on his own, she encouraged him to do it on his own. she was too LAZY to stand up. I wrote them a letter about my concern because at home we build our son up and talk to him about independence while also explaining that our privates are only for us and we dont show them to our friends. they were very rude back to me after I wrote the letter. they got defensive and gave me every excuse in the book about why it happened. today I went in just to sit in on the class. I figured maybe I was over reacting and once I sat in on their MONTESSORI class I would feel better because I would see how nurturing they are and how they acknowledge each childs feelings and needs.. I was so wrong! what I saw today was so sad. teacher Mary sat on the floor of the kitchen area and made kids count eggs, she included them even if they were doing something else. she would say "get me that basket, pick up those toys" my favorite was when one of the little girls took something from another. the teacher sighed very loudly and said " did you just take that from her? you need to stop, thats so rude" thats how that situation was handled and so many others. she talked over top of the kids while some kids sat in a different area not even noticed. on the other side of the room was bill doing a teacher guided writing activity. there was an extreme lack of respect for the kids. more of a "my way of highway" attitude. this one boy wasnt listening and he got loud and said "you need to write you a's NOW" I had heard enough at that point I started writing a list to myself so I could go home and talk to my husband about my concerns so we could make our next move. teacher Mary stood up and said " you have more complaints???" I told her I had a few and before she ever let me talk she started accusing me or things and being horrible. she was talking over me in front of the whole class, she told me i just needed to get out and I was being disrespectful. I complained, how am I suppose to talk to you guys about anything when there clearly isnt an open door policy" at that point I was crying and she just kept telling me to take my kid and leave.. teacher Bill took me into the other room to try and have a conversation with me. explained that they dont have the money and they are trying to do their best (which I believe is true) but they just have too many kids and are too old to have 8-10 kids in there and be able to teach them using the MONTESSORI way. i explained my concerns about talking over children and he had an excuse for everything. I put my child into preschool so he could have the same respect from his teachers and peers that he gets at home and there is no way those teachers are going to belittle me in front of children and claim to give those kiddos respect. he explained over and over that they arent perfect and i just kept talking about consistency, they are a normal structured teacher led preschool. DONT LET THE NAME FOOL YOU. honestly even if I wasnt looking for MONTESSORI I wouldnt recommend taking your child there! terrible experience. my son told me weeks ago he wanted to change schools because the teachers were sometimes mean. they dont understand what it means to respect kids and acknowledge feelings because for whatever reason they think they know it all and are too old school to change their ways.. save yourself the time and money and your little child the heartache and find yourself a different preschool home! Out of all 4 locations they have, I take my kids to Daycare #3 and this daycare has some of the…read moremost loving, caring and nurturing personnel; my kids feel loved and comfortable with everyone there, including the owner. If there's any issues or concerns, they get resolved. I love their flexibility and willingness to help with anything they can. Also, the fact that they have different activities/classes for the kids to enjoy makes me feel comfortable/happy leaving my kids there. If you're looking for a place That makes your kids feel like home, this is the place :)
