My son went there for 2 years, GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Mrs. McCool was AMAZING. My son loved her so much, moving on to the 4 year old class he still stopped by every day to tell her hi. Mrs waudby was also amazing as my son had a bit of a hard time going to school in his second year, she was so patient and did a great job making him feel comfortably leaving me for the school day. They are both so sweet and patient with the little ones. A lot of preschools seem to be more like daycares, but mini school is more like a classroom Setting and school time like you would have in kindergarten. They learn a lot everyday, do projects, play outside, have snack, and dance party's! It was a great way for my son to learn to be around other kids, make friends and socialize. They welcome parents to come in anytime to check in or watch what class is like, there is no hiding anything from parents which is important. I think with a combination of the two years in Mini School and keeping up the learning at home, this is why my son did so well in kindergarten and ended up Exceeding his grade level. Writing this review in case anyone sees it who is considering registering their child in any…read morepreschool owned by Taylor Breunig, who, according the Oregon Business Registery, owns preschools under the following names: Wild & Wonderful, Inc (3 locations in Oregon) Little Otters, Inc (3 locations in Oregon) SoGrow House, Inc (2 locations in Oregon) I paid well in advance one month at one of her daycares (Wild & Wonderful, SE Portland) in order to hold a spot for my son, and at the time confirmed the funds would be fully refundable if something didn't work out (honestly I had a weird feeling there but we were desperate for care). I was told multiple times the funds would be returned at the time another child took the spot. We did end up deciding to go somewhere else that I had fewer reservations about, and I reached out for a refund to the $1,650 that they charged me to hold my spot. They once again confirmed it would be fully refundable once another child took our spot, and I checked the handbook and saw no other policy or line stating it was not 100% refundable. It has been nearly 8 months. I have been in regular communication with a staff member who has been very nice and I believe is unrelated to the issue. She even confirmed to me that she had forwarded my request to Taylor who was going to issue my refund, and apologized several times for it taking longer than it should have. I wanted to stay civil and continued to give the benefit of the doubt, so instead of contacting a lawyer, leaving a bad review, or making a report the BBB, I continued to check in monthly with the staff member, awaiting for Taylor to process the refund, even though it was causing me financial hardship. I honestly regret being so kind about it, perhaps if I had left a review or taken other public action, Taylor would have been forced to respond to me. I finally heard back today that the business has closed, and after 8 months of trying to get my money back, the owner clearly had no intention to do so. She has opened multiple other daycares, so while this business closed, I believe any parent considering sending their child to one of her businesses should be warned. After searching for reviews on Wild and Wonderful I found MULTIPLE OTHER SIMILAR REVIEWS from parents who were never given funds back, and completed ghosted by Taylor. I will be following up with BBB and a lawyer. I'm so disappointed. Please do not give this person your money. I regret not getting a lawyer involved sooner, this feels very predatory. It's unfair to just close your business and open a new one to get out of paying money you owe. I don't want any other parents to fall for it.

Some of the things adults said and done to me during my time there have stayed with me for years, and I still think about them. I also remember the playground environment feeling poorly supervised. I understand that this was a long time ago, and I can only speak about what I personally remember experiencing. But those experiences had a lasting impact on me as a child.

However from the week that he started, we were constantly greeted with new complaints at pick up. He was close to 4 mos when starting with them and the complaints were that his naps weren't long enough - he had to be held, he was spitting up and that he couldn't play independently for longer than 5 mins. As first time parents, we would hear these things, get anxious and then check in with our pediatrician and each time we were told that this is normal infant behavior. Then one Friday we received a message from the owner "Your son has been unable to self soothe all day requiring one caregivers attention. There are 7 today. I am uncomfortable with him screaming the majority of the day. He will need to be picked up today please". When picked up, we were told that there would be a 2 week trial period to see if things improved. I want to note that our child is not colicky, does not excessively spit up and is not what would be described a high needs infant. He's a pretty chill, sweet, easy going baby. Even then, we understood that perhaps he was more difficult at daycare away from home, but our issue was with the poor communication and constant guilt we were made to feel. As first time parents, a more empathetic and compassionate response would have been appreciated - reaching out to us and suggesting a meeting to go over some tips, or literally just some kind, encouraging words! vs. the constant complaints and then an ultimatum at pickup. There was another situation where he had a pretty fresh, red cut on his eyelid at pickup. When asking about it, we were immediately told that he was dropped off like that, which was not true. Again, a convo about it and some compassion would have been appreciated. All this to say, if you're thinking of enrolling an infant be sure that they can 1. nap for long periods of time (which will be in a pack and play in the same space as the infant play area), 2. they don't spit up and 3. they can play independently for 10+mins at a time. We would have saved ourselves so much stress and anxiety by looking elsewhere.

We ended up withdrawing our daughter after several situations where we felt Christian values were not shown in how things were handled. When we brought concerns to administration, there was very little resolution, despite the emphasis on "collaboration." Our daughter had surgery during the same month the remaining balance was due. I tried to go in once to pay, but it was during a fire drill and I was told I'd need to come back. We were also contacted repeatedly while working, which was stressful. Then the balance was sent to collections by January. We truly do pray for the school and the families who are there... but this experience was extremely disappointing.
