We haven't…read moregone anywhere else because we simply don't want to- they check all of the boxes for comfort, efficiency, friendliness and catering to his sensory sensitivities. I love that they offer Bluey on the individual TVs (my son's favorite) and lollipops for distraction. We never feel rushed but they are quite prompt and easy. Shauna used to do his hair and with scheduling differences, Stephanie took over and we have been very pleased and impressed. She does such a great job and listens to what we want. She pays attention to detail and her lines are always straight. Not to mention, she is amazing at blending the textured and thick hair. Thank you always for the great service!! We love you Ms. Stephanie!

We decided to take our 1-year-9-month-old son to Snip-its for his very first haircut. We…read morespecifically chose it because it's marketed as a kid-focused haircut experience. When we walked in, it absolutely delivered on the kid vibe. Toys everywhere, colorful decorations, kid-themed everything. So far, so good. Then we noticed there was a wait. No big deal. As we're waiting, I look over and see what looked like an 11- or 12-year-old getting a haircut. Fair enough. Then I scan the room a little more... And there, sitting in a race car haircut chair designed for children, was a fully grown man. I'm talking mortgage-paying, tax-filing, probably-has-a-401(k) grown man. At that exact moment, the entire experience became unintentionally hilarious. Here we are, excited and emotional about our toddler's first haircut milestone, while Randy from Accounting is getting a fade next to the bubble machine. Maybe it's just me, but I genuinely didn't realize there was no age limit. The place seemed clean, friendly, and definitely kid-oriented. But the vibe got a little weird once I realized our son was waiting behind adults for an appointment at what I thought was a children's haircut place. We trusted our gut, laughed about it, and decided to leave. No hard feelings. I'm just still trying to process the fact that my son's first barber-shop memory almost involved sitting behind a 35-year-old man getting a trim under a giant cartoon giraffe.

We came to Sharkey's Cuts for Kids in Chandler with high hopes after hearing great things. This was…read moremy nephew's second haircut ever, and his first haircut at another kids salon was pretty traumatic, so we were specifically looking for a place that would make the experience fun, comfortable, and positive for him. One of the things we liked right away was the option for kids to sit in toy cars during their haircut. It's a really cute concept and the idea is perfect for making kids feel more comfortable. However, a couple of the cars (specifically the Lightning McQueen car and the Frozen Jeep) were pretty worn down and didn't look like they were in the best condition. The stylist who cut my nephew's hair did a good job with the actual haircut. My sister showed her a picture of what he wanted: a mohawk with a longer tail in the back, but not as much of a mullet. When the stylist responded, "Well, that's a picture of a mullet, so what do you want me to do?" it immediately made the process feel more stressful than it needed to be. We ended up finding another reference photo that better showed what we were looking for. I will say, I was impressed that before using the clippers, she let my nephew touch them and see them first. That small step mattered because he was nervous after his previous experience. However, beyond that, there wasn't much interaction or reassurance with him throughout the haircut. I expected a little more patience, enthusiasm, and engagement from a salon that specializes in children's first haircuts and helping kids feel comfortable. The positive is that his haircut turned out great. The final style looked exactly like what we wanted, and the experience was definitely not nearly as traumatic as his first haircut somewhere else. I'm grateful for that. Overall, the haircut itself was a success, but the experience didn't quite match what we were hoping for from a kids-focused salon. I think with a little more warmth, communication, and attention to helping kids feel comfortable, this place could be amazing.

He absolutely loves cars so that was the perfect seat for him. He had so much fun and got so excited when he hit the gas pedal and the car would honk and make sounds. The cars movie plays in front of you to distract the kids and keep them busy. Overall this was a great experience and so glad Ruth took her time and continued to check in with us. She made his first experience a great one and really made her efforts known! Definitely give them a try. Very clean inside and they have balloons and lollipops for the kids.

Maybe an inch off the back and just out of his eyes, but not above his eyebrows or ears. I told her to be careful cutting his hair wet as it has some body and would shrink up when it was dry. We got out of there with the worst butcher job ever. Nothing like the picture, and just a terrible haircut altogether. It's so uneven and choppy. My son did not move. He was not wiggly. Wouldn't take your boys here if you want anything other than a really short style. My husband and I are devastated. I have contacted the salon and am waiting on a call back from the manager. Pictures of before and after, with the inspo pic attached for reference. Update: the manager called me and after seeing pictures offered to give me a refund and "texturize" the hair so it isn't so blunt. Also made a comment about "those blondes" as if his hair color has anything to do with how terrible this haircut was. 1000% do not take your kiddos here for anything permanent. Especially for 30$ a cut!!!!

Apparently Keith has been his barber for quite some time and decided to open his own shop. My next question was how much? Since moving to Phoenix I've found that for a haircut like that most barbers charge about $40 minimum not including the tip you give. My surprise when he said $30. I was like I gotta check this out. They take walk-ins but you can book online through their website, and it was super easy. I showed up about 5 min before my scheduled time with Keith, and we got right into the cut. Keith is a very skilled barber. You can tell he's obviously skilled with the clippers, but he's got scissor work as well. I personally have a cowlick and fine hair where it's hard to find someone who can manage that while being able to give a good fade and blend my top hair. Go read Ryan's review below mine. Keith really can make a 6 go to a 8.3 with just the haircut. Just check the photos out no enhancements on the photo - legit unedited photo. For $30 you get a cut that other barbers are charging more for, the service is better than the barbers I've been to, and the shop is clean and brand new. Plus you right by a taco shop so you can walk over and get that after your cut!
