Don't pass by this little gem when your in the Watersmeet area. They are cooking up the best BBQ in the UP. The BBQ ribs will have you .at first bite. Smokey delicious flavor, no sauce / . Beef and pull porked sandwiches...exceptional. Make sure you get the fries and onion rings, crispy and delicious. No ketchup required. Great place in Watersmeet, MI. On Highway 45, north toward casino. As driving north it is on the left hand side before the casino (right). Owners are very helpful, hardworking and easy to work with. Great food. Those hours preparing the fabulous meat can be savored. They had some outside seating. Or, bring it back to your cabin or house. Waterfalls, cliffs, ravines, mountains, rivers, lakes, historic areas, etc. Hunting for grouse, bear, coyote, etc. Good area for family, friends and or group. Variety of things to do. This place is on the side of a highway. I have been passing it for years. I finally stopped by and I am so sorry I have waited so long. I tried the pulled pork which was perfectly smoked with a great rub and then shaved thin on a meat slicer. My mom had the rib tips and she is very picky and could not stop raving about them. The owner Bobby was a nice as can be and he is truly passionate about food. I loved the french fries and the BBQ sauce they provided was ON POINT! read more

If you see this place and keep driving by because it's just someone's house with a trailer in the front, you are doing yourself a disservice. If there's one bet you should place, you should double-down on some fine slow roasted pork! I had the shredded port sandwich and it was everything and more than I expected. Wow!!! What a surprise to find well seasoned, well cooked BBQ in someone's front yard. It came with a jolly couple who loved to talk and inform us about their business. Clean and worth stopping! Up here in northern WI and the UP of Michigan, it can be really hard to find any good food other than fish fry. Was driving through Watersmeet on our way home, and had seen previous reviews for Little Pigs BBQ and they all talked about how good the food was. We see the signs for Little Pigs (be careful, if you aren't looking you will drive right past) sitting in front of a private residence, so we slow down and pull in the driveway. Here sits a camper trailer converted into a kitchen, and a big black smoker in the driveway. Yep, this is going to be delicious! Rib tips were awesome, skip the sauce, you won't need it. Chopped pork was awesome, super tender and flavorful. Bob and Elizabeth are extremely friendly, and show real southern hospitality to their customers, so make sure you take the time to talk to them. Sit down at the picnic table in their yard and eat, or get it to go. Bob even keeps the smoker going in the middle of winter, so you can always get a BBQ fix even when everything is covered in snow. I will now be looking for excuses to drive an hour and 15 minutes back up there (day trip to Bond Falls would be even better with BBQ takeout!) read more
