Sadly, last year it was closed for a spell after a fire destroyed most of the inside yet the new place is bigger and better than ever. Most of the skewered kebabs are kept in the chiller fridge for you to salivate over, as well as a great selection of Pakoras/samosa/bahji's. There is nothing done to any of this food in secret- the kitchen is all open plan as well as the prep area so you can see the cleanliness of the food/utensils/staff/prep areas. The skewered kebabs are cooked fresh to order in the tandor so there is a bit of waiting for your order but hey, who doesn't appreciate a wait when you can get to see the life-cycle of the food you are going to eat. The chapatis/rotis/naans are all freshly rolled and cooked to order so again, no 'kept' food. The menu is quite accomodating for most tastes- kebabs/curries/chicken/burgers/fish/chicken portions and then a new selection of desserts and ice cream shakes. Personally, we usually go for the 'Shai Nan Special kebab' which @ £7.50 offers chicken, lamb,shish.donner and masses of salad all wrapped in a freshly griddled naan with lashings of chilli and yoghurt sauce! The restaurant does not have a licence to sell alcohol as in advance I had purchased some wine to match the flavours of Persian cuisine. There is a £3.00 corkage fee which I would of disputed if we would have bought numerous soft drinks but we only had saffron tea and coffee to complete the meal so I believed the charge as justifiable. The food was delicious and I polished off the boys main meals too. We ordered 2 starters between 3 and these came with 2 massive freshly made Arabic knobz bread, followed by 1 stew and 2 kebabs between us and rice. The price was £38.00 in total and we left a tip. The downfalls here are- It gets MEGA busy and due to this is gets food remnants and packaging left on tables so doesn't look inviting They never seem to have enough staff so sometimes you have to wait AGES!(or what feels like ages when you're drunk!) Not terribly thin, but much less creamy. Sad times! Despite this, I think one last chance is in order. I did love them so much before, after all. I think the delivery time depends on how far you live from them though and I think i live on the edge of their 5 mile delivery radius. The food always tastes like its been cooked fresh and it always arrives piping hot. We've tried their Nan Kebabs. They have both kinds of kebabs if you prefer your kebab in a pita bread. Their nan bread by the way is awesome. I recommend the Chicken Tika Nan kebab. It's enough food for two people and is very nice. It's full of succulent chicken and veg. I cant eat a whole one - but it does hold up to reheating. It wasn't greasy the next day. We also order the meal deal for two which has their huge samosas. To be fair there is enough food in this meal deal for four people. We always have leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day. Overall the food is excellent and the price is right. The kebabs are the most expensive thing on the menu at £5.50 each; for that you get a surprising quantity of lean, spicy meat in a Turkish pide, which is much more substantial than the bog standard pittas, three sorts of fresh salad and fries. I have to admit that they are fries not chips and obviously the American cut frozen style but this is a takeaway so that's hardly unusual. Since Hungry House had decided to gift me 20% discount again, I was all over it. Not least because it had gotten past 8pm, I'd nothing to cook, and I was starving! The menu offers a number of interesting and authentic dishes and because I'm indeciseive I opted for the mixed grill. To accompany this I chose some tzatziki, hummous, and a naan. The chap had a mosaghat batinjan (various spiced veggies with rice) and with all of the items a veritable feast arrived. Given the discount, the total order came to about £15 so it's incredibly reasonable, and they certainly don't scrimp on the portions. The hummous and tzatziki came in huge foil dishes, so there was plentiful dipping option, the naan was gargantuan, the mixed grill had tons of pieces of chicken, a huge wing, and a large lamb kebab sausage. The veggie dish was a large vat of goodness in itself, and came with a huge portion of beautifully scented rice. It really was the best rice I've had from a take away - long grained, infused with real cinnamon sticks, and other stuff. The chips I ordered as a side with the mixed grill came, also, in a huge box. We were not short on carbs. It took a little while to come, being about 10-15 minutes later than the latest possible time, so order early. As for the taste, I wasn't too impressed with the hummous, as it seemed a little bland. The garlic dip, on the contrary, was so garlicky it almost tasted spicy. The chips, being thin fries, had gotten a touch soggy from the condensation in the packet, but the mixed grill was great. I preferred the chicken to the lamb, as I've had better, but the chicken was cooked beautifully and went extremely well with the tzatziki. The rice was exquisite, and I'd certainly recommend you order it to accompany anything from here. (Except maybe the desserts.) All in all, it's certainly worth trying something from the varied menu. Russell C wasn't kidding on the portion sizes, so you can double up, save even more cash, and still enjoy a relatively healthy meal considering you're ordering take away. I'll likely try them again, but hope next time that the hummous is a little more flavoursome, and the wait not so long for arrival! In any case, it's definitely recommended.

The store is managed by 3 brothers who have been running the place for more than 35 years and become well known in the area for selling such speciality foods. The sweets are definitely the main wow factor of the establishment, with around 20 different types to choose from. Including traditional recipes of Ladoo, a tasty ball of sugary ground up nuts, cardamom powder and ghee. The savoury selection is also highly regarded with pakoras, samosas and dhokla amongst other things. The Yorkshire post once said "You can't get samosa's like that anywhere" which is very encouraging considering how much samosa competition there is in Leeds.

It's exactly that, although it's easy to forget about the Kebab House bit, as the focus seems to be all about the sweets, of which there are many; you've got chocolate bharfi, plain bharfi, coconut bharfi, which sounds gross phonetically, but is actually rather delicious, mainly due to the condensed milk texture to it, there is coconut malai, messoor and ladoo, all of which are rich, sweet and tasty. My recommendation would be to go in and order one of most things, define your texture and taste of choice, and simply enjoy the process of something entirely different to the usual. Oh one last thing, if you're a bit sensitive in the nut department, then ask one of the owner dudes to point out which is demon nut free, as many of the delicacies are inclusive of nuts of some sort.
